2:28 Regarding this: Ahsoka's Eta 2 Jedi Interceptor only ever appeared in season 5, episode 17 of the clone wars. By this point Anakin had abandoned the armor seen in seasons 1, 2 and partially in 3 and wore more traditional Jedi robes verry similar to the ones seen in ROTS. If they had made the set based off Ahsoka's Delta 7B Jedi Interceptor from the first couple seasons of the clone wars, then it would've made sense to have the clone wars Anakin with armor. (Side note I would've preferred Ahsoka's Delta 7B over the Eta 2)
Its definitely a 30 dollar set but as long as people pay for it at 45 it will just keep on jumping. I dont recommend anyone to go for this set until its at least 10 dollars off.... If it ever goes on sale. Maybe walmart will use it for the 3 in 1 pack for 2025?

This set is what pushed me to finally boycott Lego Star Wars as a whole. I just cannot justify the Disney tax anymore. The new AT-TE is expensive at $140. The Justifier was even worse at $180 (no wonder it retired so quickly). The new Stormtroopers vs. Rebels battle pack is _horrendously_ expensive at $40 for two little ships and some minifigs. Jedi Bob’s starfighter - $40. The upcoming ARC-170 - $70? Jabba’s Sail Barge is $500 on its own - $580 if you want to add the $80 skiff and complete the full scene! And now this. I love Jedi Interceptors - they’re my favorite starships in the whole Star Wars universe. But paying $45+tax for what is essentially a $20 set is too far. I refuse to buy this even at a steep discount. I don’t even want to use points on it. It’s time Lego and Disney both realize that this kind of pricing just can’t fly. They need to know that they can’t keep fleecing us like this.

I used to be a huge collector of LEGO growing up, but this right here is an example of why I fell out of the hobby. The prices are getting absolutely ridiculous now (even accounting for inflation). There's no reason they need to be charging this much for a tiny Star Wars set
I know I am a little late to comment, but I just got this recommended. You know, all I need to say is look at the price, and what you are getting for that price, of the set 9494. Then there is the fact that the new cockpit sucks and Ashoka doesn't even have armprinting. And to the question, why the prices are so ridiculous: Something no one is talking about (as far as I know), lego trying to be "ecological" and "green". The first price spike came around the time lego went on "fully renewable energy" and now the second spike (Jabba's barge and this interceptor), they are changing the material to be from recycled plastic. I mean, it's a simple math, the higher the cost of the input resources, the higher overall prices.
A large part of this is bc of disneys liscensing costs i mean just look at the new horizon set witch comes with the same amount off stuff yet is 5 dollars cheaper
For this price, both figs should be cmf quality. Especially since both wear boots and have arm detailing (Anakins gloves, Ahsokas sleeves). And even then it would be overpriced…
($40 in 2009 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $58.85 today) sorry chief but like that set you put up on screen AIN'T WORTH 58 USD because 60 bucks for that thing is more then a little over priced inflation does happen dude please do remember to take that into account when talking about pricing with sets thanks, still good video I agree with your point still just please remember when your talking about pricing with sets please do the conversion rate. Thanks
Nothing you say matters. Scalpels will buy it out while 3/4 of lego youtubers will shill it hard. It will sell well, next year similar set will be sold for 60$. Life is life.
I understand that this set has ~50 more pieces and 1 more figure than Anakin's jedi interceptor from 2020 ($35 today adjusted for inflation) but those things don't justify a $10 price jump in my mind. Anything $40 or up to me is a mid-tier lego set in terms of cost and I always viewed jedi interceptors/starfighters as low-tier lego sets in terms of cost since as a child they were some of the only sets I could get my parents to get me outside of christmas time or my birthday. I understand Lego wants to make their sets more detailed and offer more but when those things threaten the original identity of the jedi interceptors/starfighters (a low cost starfighter for kids to play with) I think that Lego is going in the wrong direction. They really should focus on keeping piece count down for these kinds of sets opting for less but larger pieces and instead make a ucs or adults welcome jedi interceptor/starfighter if they want to bump up the piece count and price. That brings me to my last point: adults welcome. I understand there is more money in appealing towards adults nowadays but I feel like they've been alienating their child-audience more and more as of late with this set being a prime example. I got into Lego due to getting my hands on cheap sets while grocery shopping with my parents. How is the current/next generation supposed to get into Lego Star Wars when the average set from the theme costs so much?
yeah I feel like this is only appealing to the adult scalpers, collectors, and investors who are just going to buy the set anyways because they know the figs are highly desired and will go up in value. Everyone else who just wants to have something to build or buy a present for their kid just gets screwed over. Corporate greed is destroying Lego
"Im totally willing to buy it", then why would LEGO decrease the price? LEGO, at the end of the day, is a company, and will maximise profit as much as reasonably possible. I think people forget this fact and still view them like they did when they were kids.
Would you consider making up your mind between "this is outrageous" and "I'm willing to pay for it"? LEGO is a global range company and every such company is guaranteed to try to make more and more money - that's what drives the stock, that's what keep the investors around, that's what provides the funds. And right behind LEGO stands Disney surely trying to squeeze more and more out of the license on their IPs as well, for the same reason. Just do your part in the manufacturer-consumer dialogue and don't drive the sales at a price you don't support. Why should any price for absolutely nonessential item such as LEGO be objectively too high for any other reason than the consumers not being interested in paying as much?
Well considering Ahsokas t6 was $80 with 4 forgives 😂 nobody complains abt that. $45 isn’t THAT bad. When compared to obi wanna Starfighter with 3 figs for $30 imao and deff looks smaller. $45 is a lot but ur complains quite a bit. Also the Ahsoka ship was based on the battle of kado nomodia. Not CW Anakain so ur wrong there. The Anakain in the set is accurate to the scene. Imao 😂 just some of my thoughts not trying to start beef fyi
@@LegoSnoopDoggthe issue is the 2020 interceptor when adjusted for inflation was 10 dollars less which is about 8 pounds less. 1 minifig and a new cockpit piece is not worth 10 dollars.
1:16 So you say the old set from 2020 was 30$. Considering inflation it would have to offered for 36,72$ nowadays. Add in an additional mini figure and a new cockpit mold and 45$ doesn't sound that crazy anymore. In addition we should probably consider that LEGO is a company based in Europe (Denmark to be exact) that got hit worse by inflation than the US. 30€ in 2020 would require a price of 38.43€ today.
