Its not a competition who is stronger or whatever.
De Orca is a Mammal and the Great White is a Fish.
The Great White isn't a stupid animal its also a strong intelligent animal.
They are been living for over Hundred of Millions of years in all Waters and Oceans.
They cleaning the oceans we need the Sharks
That many people in the comments dont like Sharks I really dont understand.
      Sharks are important for nature.

I was fortunate enough to swim with Orcas in the mid 1980s in New Guinea. We were on a live aboard anchored in Mile Bay when we spotted a pod passing by. We only had time to grab our masks and fins and get to the dingy. We would have the coxswain pass by the pod and then we would roll in and wait for them to swim by. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I never once had any fear of them as you could sense that they were not alarmed by our presence and would calmly swim by. Their eyes were what really caught me. Because they are mammals you feel a sense of connection that you don’t with other sea life. They look at you as if they sense you are a friend and project no threat. I was young and foolish enough to try and grasp one male’s dorsal fin to see if I could get a tow but every time I got close he would just give a little flick of his tail and jet away. I watch videos of their hunting techniques now and just think how lucky I was that he didn’t get irritated by me. The things we do when we are young and stupid.

The more time goes on, the more opportunity for more footage happens. I’m 49 now and when I was in elementary school and up to junior high, I filled my head with whales and mostly about Orcas. But I’ve never seen the videos of some of these attacks and hunts etc. Seeing this footage is incredible and to have it all in one video is awesome. Really puts them in perspective. They’re freakin Incredible.

I've got 15 years on you and was all about animals (mostly mammals) while growing up. What I can find on RUclips is so far beyond what was available 55 years ago it's impossible to explain to kids today. About 15 years ago a neighbors 12 year old kid had no idea of what a mammoth was. What the hell is wrong with that kids parents? Not interested unless it involves a game controller I guess. Can you imagine having a resource like this back then? Just wow!

The variety and the number of videos today is awesome , when i was growing up i never knew about things like the male platypus having poison spurs or a fish with a transparent head , You have to give thanks to people like Marlin Perkins of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and Jacques Cousteau who were pioneers bringing the animals of the world into our living rooms .
I will say this because of the lack of film footage (videos) back in the day about animals that i wanted to know more about the
Funk and Wagnalls Encyclopedias and a Websters Illustrated Dictionary were my main sources of info for Knowledge .
There are many today that would be clueless without their " Smartphones " . Increase the technological intelligence at the price of lowering the intellectual level of the people. This video is Awesome . . . . but there is way more to these animals than can be explained in a 15 minute video and i hope people are inspired to use their smartphones to learn more .

1992 I was up to Rivers' INlet in BC with a retiring friend....and a 12 foot boat. We went out without my cam in the early a.m. as the return plane was arriving at 10 a.m. A pod of two full size females, two babies longer than our boat, and a juvenile loomed out of the fog: the mom's went by us and we had to look UP to see their backs. Incredible.

As a second grader, I decided I wanted a face to face with Shamu, at Marineland, Palos Verdes. I got down on her feeding platform, and looked down. Monday, 3pm, no one around, and got away from my mom. Shamu came, up, and looked at me. Her mouth looked about the size of a jet engine, at maybe 2 feet. I realized I didn't have any fish, and if she wanted, she could easily pick me off the platform. I should have petted her, I was that close, but decided I better get off the platform. Still here, only due to her mercy and kindness. Wonderful animals, and VERY smart. Thank God they don't want to eat us...

I've got a friend that's pretty much been adopted into an orca pod. It started when he helped their matriarch return to the water. He did that by digging the sand out, so that she could float herself. He was able to follow her using a water jet.
He described to me what he believes was her telling her family what happened. Their demeanor toward him almost immediately changed. They all began hitting him with echolocation. He said that it made him very sore in the end. Then one of them nuzzled him in the chest. Finally, the matriarch presented him with a fish that she had caught, placing it directly in his hand.
My friends name is Jack. I don't know the orca leader's official name. She is known locally as "Keela".
    I have seen this myself.

Every always spoke the shark as being the top dog, when in reality, it fear for its existence when the Orcas are around. Good reporting.

I met Shamu and Namu when they were at Sea world in Ohio. My Mom and I sat through the show and when it was over we came out last and just wandering around saw a big tank behind the stage. We saw them in that tank and got close enough to look at them and they started talking to us and they both made motions that made me think they wanted to be petted. I gave Shamu a pat and he responded so sweetly I couldn’t resist petting him some more Namu wanted my Mom to pet her. We had no way to make photos so all we had are memories ♥️♥️♥️♥️

These whales are a matriarchal society. I was a boat in Puget Sound. We saw J pod, K pod and L pod. At the time there was 96 killers in the sound. We saw about 90 of the whales in one afternoon. Quite a thrill.

It's still hilarious to me how people cannot accept that an animal, or any other species, can be as intelligent as us. Just because the creature doesn't portray intelligence the same way we do or have fancy toys/machines doesn't mean they are lessers. Some "intelligent" species we are. It's just unfathomable that something would be as smart as us. Oooooh nooooo. Pffft. Morons. I loathe being a part of this species 99% of the time.

I have to say very interesting video. So very impressive. I have been amazed with Orcas since I was a kid. I have movies and videos on Orcas. The best documentary I have seen was called Black Fish. Trying to in cage this very intelligent animal was the biggest mistake they have ever made. Then they tried to breed them with ones that were not of their kind or pod. Now we don't have a sea world with killer whales. Now it brings me to a very good move that is called Orca. If you have not seen it, I would suggest you see this movie. Black fish is also a must see. GOD bless HIS creation.

So intelligent and majestic, powerful. They are my favorite but at the same time it breaks my heart when they hunt whales and dolphins. The worst of all is humans that hunt marine wildlife for money. I think long lines and long term nets should be banned bc of all the turtles, whales, dolphins etc that are senselessly killed being caught in the long lines and nets that sit for days and weeks, killing sharks and dolphins, whales. Humanity is the worst thing for the planet

What is worth noting is that their real name is translated to "whale killer" and that we changed it to killerwhale. It might be just a minor change but the way we did it can suggest that these animals just hunt everything, even humans. I guess it sounds more spectacular, more dangerous, more thrilling for visitors of shows like sea world. But we all know what minor details can do, like steven spielberg's jaws that is directly linked to us being more fearful of white sharks than e.g. hippos.

    • @mauroquivira6749
      @mauroquivira6749 2 года назад

exacto, cuando humanizamos a los animales les damos connotaciones de ese tipo. Ellos son distintos y sólo podemos intentar describir lo que hacen, pero sus motivaciones son apreciaciones desde lo humano, nada más.

When we went deep they got 90%+ of every fish hooked. We could tell they were coming when the Porpoise 's would scatter

Wild orcas have never killed a human being. And the few "attacks" on people haven't been intentional. One guy got knocked down when an orca came up on the beach for a seal, and there was another instance of an orca going after a guy in a wetsuit. In all likelihood the whale mistook him for a seal. Neither of them died or were even injured.
