Good review, those Menards cars are good value for the money, especially if someone is on a budget. It’s hard to find the MPC Era Lionel autoracks used for $39. 👍
Great review Les. Looks like the Menards is fairly decent for the price. Any thoughts about adding weights to improve the tracking? Thanks for sharing.
I think what I’m going to do is get a little track time with them so I can get used to how they roll and wobble going down the track and over switches. It’s very easy to open these up, so I will add 4-5oz of weight to one of them and test it again before doing the rest of the cars. I don’t really think the play in the trucks is any different than the mth units, and each unit seems pretty consistent in play so far, they just aren’t easily adjustable or replaceable. The high center of gravity is probably the real issue, so the weight will help. I’m sure that is why MTH did it. I’ll return with the results! Thanks for posting Scott!
When mth.and Lionel pric sre out of affordability then menards to the rescue I like menards rolling stock and diesel locomotives I absolutely like their tubular o gauge track it just as good as Lionel and marx o gauge track but cheaper

For the price they seem a starting point for customization. Any road name and somebody could make one of the cttx roofless cars that were built for running under wire on the northeast corridor.
Great comparison video Wes! Nicely done!😊
I had no idea the Menards autoracks were that big. Almost scale.
They are tall and wide enough to be scale, and the shorter length will help on tighter curves!

They look real good. Too new for me. I want the open racks again.
Very nice cars! Nice job with the comparison review Les. Enjoyed watching😀
I loaded up on menards box cars , I had one that rocked real bad like the trucks off center, so I turned it around, ran fine, mysterious, but it's ok.

Menards should have included logo stickers for the blank panel.

True! You can easily build a pretty long affordable consist after just one visit to Menards. Thanks for watching and commenting!
