Me and my wife honeymooned in Silecroft and I said every time we visited there I would climb Black Combe. I will do it in her memory in the next few weeks…

That sounds like a very fitting tribute indeed❤️, now is a good time to go do it before the weather gets colder...take a little memory to place up there if you find a little place with a view, so you can start revisiting in future trips 🙏🏻.atb Mark.

Was some good views heading up that hill. Those waterfalls looked interesting on the way back. Need to watch out for the dark nights now. Getting dark at 7, means have to start shortening the walks now.

Cheers Alice, you are right the waterfalls looked interesting on the western flanks, think maps show a path to them from the houses nearby, but was getting too dark to look. Id love a fully crisp clear day uo there and be able to see the Welsh coastline in the distance, its deffo one to visit when you get back over this way, another called White combe to the right of the summit. More time needed though and lighter nights of course.atb Mark.

A trip down the coast only took an hour or so, its a fell that sticks out away from other fells hence high quality viewing points..head torch never came out, but close lol. Wukkies lovely mam made those makeshift gators up ( for his matching fashion show🤣),recycling some old gear. Some more good little fells further down that way and superb scenery so u may see more vids in future of the area. atb Mark

Never been up there myself either but looked a nice path to follow and a nice park as well, which I always appreciate. Sounded a blowy old day but good that you stopped dry, especially over the two streams. Dark nights pulling in now mind, cheers Alan

Ifvyou venture down that way, thats the place to park, as i know you a keen on parking spots like myself..The wind howled at onecstage up top but next to none further down, but high quality vistas if you catch perfect weather..Well worth going to do though after so long staring at it from further up the coast.Me and Helen visited a stone circle to the east last month which was another route to the top.(Never filmed that day)Also may i suggest checking out Haverigg for a walk on the fronts, its a beautiful lagoon walk and a campsite and holiday park ...surprisingly delightful looking .atb Mark.

You managed to find decent parking spot Marra, steeper than I thought to get up to the summit and that wind never gave up eh . Plenty of pitches up on the top by the look of it , just a pity it was a bit hazy as the views would have been even better .You certainly went the long route on the way back like .Managed to get to the car before it went pitch black tho atb dave

Parking was perfect spot marra, be fine for an overnighter in that area.Much steeper climb up than we expected, blowing out our arses for a good bit lol. Very flat on top but exposed in winds. On a clear day it be majestic. We could see the North Wales coastline lights in the dark though from the car in the distance just a shame it was too hazy in the daytime. There was also some cheeky camp spots on that path on way back.We passed over 3 becks and had flat pitches by them..sheltered too.Enjoyed the trek though, be interesting to see other routes up too.atb Mark.

We would have been fifty years married next April and every time we visited I said I would do it. Now is the time to get it done.

Wow thats amazing..deffo get a little memento to take with you in that case. You will have a certain special pull to get up there. I lost my dad in 2010 but Coniston was his fav place and i kept saying ..Coniston Old man needed to be climbed.I took a flag to the top with me..I felt so at peace afterwards ..I hope you get that same feeling about your wife when you reach the summit.🙏🏻 Mark.
