I said this in my other comment, yes We Americans knew the affect this would have on Germany and we strongly advised Europe to not punish Germany so severely, after all they didn’t start the war, this was a war between Austro-Hungary and Serbia, but Austria Hungary dissolved before it got punished I believe, and since there was like 4-5 countries that came from it you can’t really punish them. And since Serbia was on the winning team it didn’t get punished either. The Treaty Of Versailles was not a treaty to end war, It was the Triple Ententes ticket to hell essentially.

China had harsh terms, even jf it had sent quarter million of workers to the powers and aided with guns and men. But they had disadvantage and required to cede. qingdao to japan

This is simplified explaination: Kiautschou Bay (Tsingtao) has been under German occupation from 1898. Japan sieged Tsingtao from Germany during ww1, and Britian and France promised Japan they could keep it. With American president support, China argue that Tsingtao should be return to China at the peace conference, the US president withdrew his support eventually, so China refuse to sign the treaty. Japan returned Tsingtao to China in 1922, but still maintained its economic dominance over the province.

I am German and we done aot of bad stuff in WW2 aswell like the holocaust, and I hope that never happened again, we seemed revenge blindly and got our country bombed to the ground as a result.
It's extremely hard to know what is right or wrong in this world in the modern era when propaganda in media is very widespread and easily accessible and spread.
That's I and a lot of Germans prefer to become a neutral country like Switzerland, but at the same time everyone in Europe will call as Nazis and bad people if we do that, but when we help them they also call us nazis and bad people. The holocaust in ww2 was definitely bad and should never happen again but people in Europe still blame us the current generation for it.

This is just my opinion, but I think that the treaty was too harsh on Germany, they did not even start the war! It was Austria-Hungary’s fault!
The Treaty of Versailles was bullshit. I feel like Austria and Hungary could've payed some of the war preparations. Germany just got beat to a pulp because of the treaty. The Nazis could've been prevented if it wasnt so harsh on Germany, but good animation.
