SonicFox isn't a legacy player for Tekken. Those legacy players will know almost everything about every character except for the new ones. Most other games for him are pick up and play, but this is a whole different ball game.
@@913egok sf is pretty unique compared to some other fighters. Timing for whiffs is tighter, and reactions are only important in certain situations while most of it is just prediction, which just comes with time. And when some players have 10k hours, that intuition is practically in their DNA
@913egok you can say street fighter is also a legacy game. Those street fighter vets know everything about the game too. Street fighter also has a tighter frame window. Like in previous street fighters you had one frame links which were combos where you need to press an input in exactly ONE frame, mid-combo. That's a 30th of a second! Haven't seen any 1 frame links in sf6 but im pretty sure there are some 3 frame ones, which are still rlly hard to pull off.

In a game where the characters have 100+ moves the pro games are bound to be different than online. Each player can have a unique style, not to mention the ones who have been playing for like 20 yrs. Sonic fox is in the big leagues now lol
Sonicfox has always been like this, in all games he drops a mad CMV or Twitter set up, says the character is mad broken, then proceeds to pick a top tier or abandon the game competitively (usually if he loses). Sonic fox is a top tier hopper, as long the character isn't a top tier he will not touch that character no matter how much he may like the character. If a character is better than the character he plays he's getting off the character quick. In mk as soon sindel and/or Kung Lao get nerfed he will no longer play them. He will never last a year with Tekken.

My main in Tekken 8 is a bottom tier character who was originally mid tier. Nothing she does is safe. Everything she does she needs to use cancels to force her opponent to mess up. Higher level Tekken is played when 2 character loyalists play because they know every match up. Higher level Tekken is more entertaining which brings more fans which brings more money. What's funny? Pro players tend to pick the same character's depending on the meta. If not for themselves, to understand what their competitors are using. In fact MOST people do that when they give the pro consensus a chance. ESPECIALLY wen they're new to a game and want to compete. Even if that wasn't common practice. It still makes complete sense that if Sonic's idea of a strong character was proven to be wrong? The SMART decision is to pick characters that the tops use to better understand what the differences are that make their picks worthy of being considered strong. That way you'd have an idea of what to look for in a character going foward. Imagine if Sonic switched to another character that pros think is just as bad. The main thing I'm hearing out Sonic Fox "This character is broken so I'm going to main him" That's the worst way to actually play tekken, go find a character you actually will enjoy playing instead of relying on crutch characters. You won't get anywhere without enjoying the characters cause the pros in tekken are different than majority of scenes like MK.

I've Been a Zafina Main Since Tekken 6 so I am used to her being Trash - It's a Double Edged Sword as - It will be sad not to see my main in Tournaments - But at least she won't be Nerffed anymore and Hopefully Buffed - Also it is Nice beating the Tier Wh*res with her.
Sad but when it’s your job basically to perform well you could get why tier whoring is such a thing. Such is the nature of anything competitive. I think over time the buffs and nerfs could level off the playing field better since it’s still pretty much a brand new game and we’ve probably another 7 years before we get a new one.
I always found that amazing in tekken. People tend to switch characters with new releases in other franchises and tier whore like sonic fox. Tekken has that, too, but people tend to be more loyal to their characters, whether they're strong or weak, especially if they're classics. That's from what I see at least.
@@brandontucker7460 I feel the game has so much depth per character it’s easier for players to remain loyalist since there’s so much to explore with the deep move list and play styles. Games like Street Fighter (different for 6 with new universal mechanics) tend to have the characters play to specific archetypes because of their limited move sets.
@mrcuddles2199 I agree, and it makes everyone's gameplay, for the most part, have some originality. I can play 5 reinas or 5 yoshimitsus, and they can all have their own style, tendencies, and strategies compared to other games where you tend to see a lot of the same stuff

Well to be fair, sonic did not lose to speedkicks nad khan because of the char pick. It might account for like 0.1 percent of the reason for the loss. The main reason's the other two are hardened tekkun players. Years of exp.
Tbh his position is bullshit. Rangchu has won at least one tournament in Tekken 7 with one of the worst characters at the time, Panda and still is loyal to the bears, switching to Kuma in Tekken 8. It's not always about a character being op, is how you know to use a character and play against others. While Akuma was broken if you knew how to use it, you still needed to practice a lot since his combos were absolutely hard to do. That applies to every character despite their flaws.
Agreed I just got her to Tekken God but I feel like I lost brain cells from having to play her so hard these past few weeks. Nonetheless I'm stayin loyal and praying she gets some buffs in the future 😭

The issue isn't switching. SonicFox was claiming Zafina was like a super top tier and veterans said no she isn't and SonicFox acted like they know better.
Devil's advocate here ( i don't know Sonic Fang) : Pro players are playing for money prizes, if there is a million dollar on the line, you are not playing for fun or to entertain the audience.. If the game is not well balanced, it is logical that they will choose a character that allows them to do well professionally. As for Feng, he is not stronger than Dragunov or Devil Jin or insert any OP char at Tekken 8 release in the top 5-7 strongest char. If he is we will only know it following top tier tournaments results. Tier whoring can only be remedied by good balancing by the devs, you cannot only blame the players for wanting to claim prizes and achieve good results in their job. It is not art, it is a competitive game with careers/reputation on the line and decent money at stake. Being a beautiful faithful loser doesn't reward you much in this field. If you look at the recent duel between Knee and Arslan, Arslan was winning 3-1 with a broken character against Bryan, what did Knee do to win the match? He picked Dragunov and won.. Doesn't take away his amazing skills but picking Drag to "equalize" the brokenness helped a lot...
Dude, i get what u say about character loyalists vs tierwhores. But in the point of view of tierwhores, they don’t get attached to a certain character, bc in the past maybe they were loyalists until Namco nerfs the shit out of your character. Look what happened to Kazumi in tekken 7. Arslan came, beat everyone, Namco proceeds to nerf her even more. No1 played her much anymore. They killed her. The thing is u never know how the characters are gonna change, who the devs like, who they don’t like.
FGC had become boring to watch at professional level. Most everyone is a sellout and will just play whatever the meta is and that makes it boring when you have people who play with the mindset that they can't do well unless they play a character that's broken. I prefer smaller communities as they care about playing to have fun and honestly care about the characters they play. This applies to every single fighting game, this isn't exclusive to Tekken.

I just want to note that Sonic Fox said the same thing about Noctis in T7 and everyone thought he was delusional but CherryBerryMango and PhiDX showed that he was actually decent and a lot of pros changed their opinion of Noctis. Although I'm not sure if they buffed Noctis much between Sonic and the end of Tekken's lifespan but I'm pretty sure there were little to no changes overall. The problem just might be SonicFox honestly, where he can't really compete against legacy players. I mean just recently, Shadow20z won TNS with Zafina (and placed top 5 in multiple offline events). I don't think anyone is saying that she's top tier secretly but she's probably underrated.
People forget that the player behind the character is what matters most. I know you're not saying this, but I'm just so tired of the fgc disregarding the work the players do to get good with a character. Even with high tier characters, players have to study the game meticulously. Noctis didn't win because he was some secret high tier. He won because of the work PhiDx and cbm put into mastering him and the game. People will always underestimate Zafina because no one ever plays her, even when she was high tier. Shadow won the tournament, not the character. The fgc has such a strange relationship with tier lists, I swear.
Does I’m counted as tier “w-word” because I now mained Reina? I mained Asuka in T7 and around CNT-CBT, but when Reina’s trailer came out, I just fell in love with the character, design, gameplay and such and I don’t think she’s that broken (or maybe because I’m just that dumb :”D). It’s just weird for me when I heard the Tekken pros are now looking for strong characters now like they never did before, I mean… are they not using multiple if not all characters to see which is the best matchup against which? Tbf, Speed also did get clowned for the Leroy take, if my memory is correct. Thing is that the way SF carries himself just invites “haters”. People simply don’t like the dude, due to how he behaves online. I don’t think that’s gonna change anytime soon, although I do agree on the whole point about the Rivals results. Losing to 2 pros is nothing to be ashamed of and he should keep going.
I do believe that there are people who can litteraly just pick up a game like Tekken 8 and just Win but of course that's something usually only a prodigy can do.
You made a good point here about tier whores and that's why I didn't really get into Tekken 7. I didn't want to spend much time in a fighting game that has a meta that switches up because of balance changes that go with seasons and DLC characters. I think Paul is much better in Tekken 8 that I can't go back to playing him in older games, so are the bears, and I really like Azucena, but I'm sticking with TTT2 as the main Tekken game I'll keep coming back to.
I swear to God Tekken players are prolly the most tolerant and prolly the most skilled fighting game community out there. MK just have one broken kameo and the community are just flipping crying non-stop. I mean, I've never seen people try to basically cancel a game because the seasonal skins suck

She is not mid because she is easily one of the weakest characters in the game. Compared to her Tekken 7 version, they nerfed literally everything and make her game play dependent on her azazel moves which have little incentive
As a Zafina main, I respect him for picking up Zafina and will still respect him IF he still uses her after losing instead of picking a top tier characters but he did. Zafina is not absolute trash as this video or others imply. She is still has a lot of great move and still can be played properly if you spent time with her enough. I have already won 3 local tournament with Zaf since our community here is somewhat thriving. She's like A.K.I from street fighter 6, she was deemed a trash character and is from the lowest of the lows but some persevered and didn't really care about her being a low tier and won a tournament with her. Players are humans and it's not the character that wlll carry you most of the time, It's the person playing themselves.

I’ve been following Sonic since the MKX days as that is by far my favorite fighting game of all time. If I remember correctly, even back in those days Sonic always picked and mained kinda high tier characters like Erron Black, Alien and predator, although he used the trapper variation which no one picked. I remember he used and abused Alien when it first came out and it was then decided that character was busted af but Sonic was still using it
I think he only used the trapper in like the first tournament after predator came out, so ppl were still unaware of how to deal with him. Other than that - he’s always picking strictly S tier chars, or ultra gimmicky ones, that require hard labbing to play against.

Movement was the whole reason she was considered high tier in t7. It was better than Alisa's, which is saying something. So an opponent could have her in + plus, and she could just back dash and the opponent would whiff despite their advantage. She also had an extremely good, high and mid crushing low that reached far (b1+2 )and great plus frames moves that could also counter hit launch. Mind you, the last two basically every character in t7 had, so that's not really strange. In t8 movement has been nerfed and, consequently, so has she. Most of her moves leave her punishable. Her only safe punish is 1, 3. Her best counter hit launchers no longer launch, which is normal across the board but man, she needs something in order for people to respect her when she's in + frames. Poor range. She has to be up close. She's so slow, so...where most of the cast can just mash and be somewhat fine, zafina constantly risks getting counter hit. Her best low poke is hidden behind a stance now and can be jabbed before it crushes, so it's better to be in + frames before throwing it out. All her lows sucks besides the one hidden behind a stance. Her overall damage is just atrocious outside of the wall compared to the rest of the cast. She has to sacrifice life with no way of getting it back in order to get a combo that barely hits 63. Her only 12frame punish is her heat smash and that's really the only reason i enter heat with her. And also to get chip without sacrificing health. She barely has any sort of chip damage that doesn't rely on her sacrificing her health when not in heat. Her normal heat smash is a great punisher, but has poor range. The first part can whiff very easily and the second part is so damn slow that it leaves her open long enough for people to get a counter hit launcher. She has another heat smash, but I forget it exists sometimes. But it's a low hitting heat smash so I'm assuming it's good. I've only been playing the game for a 2 weeks now and so I could be wrong on a few things. I do think if this were t7 she'd be mid. I still think t6 is her worst version, but that's debatable. Personally, I think people underestimate her but at the same time I have to be careful where people can just freely mash. She's still fun though.

I'm an Asuka main, and apparently she's not good, but I liked her since T5. I assumed that someone like Arslan had the same logic of character choice, but it seems like that may not have been the case.
I just play Tekken 8 when I'm at my friends house because I don't have a PS5 but for me Yoshi is A+ "trust". I played him a lot in Tekken 7 and they fixed almost all his lose ends, but created a few ones. Is b3 and b4 evades should be losing recoverable health for his meditation stance to have more purpose and now that his qcf1 isn't unblockabile it seems totally useless. Even make it unblockable again or give it a helicopterstance cancel.
I love people are trying to clown em for trusting their own opinion. See thats a huge difference in players that tend to be more knowledgeable and self sufficient. They do their own homework and dont spend most of their study and lab time watching others and reading up on others opinions without doing the work themselves. Following opinions blindly. Regardless of where your sources come from. Theresa different level of certainty fibding out for yourself. What have knowledge checks in all these different fighting games taught us? YOU have to kow the right answers. YOU have to know how it works. For some people its not enough to be TOLD. Its preferential to understand why and once you learn, you have that training, knowledge and experience in the bag. You earned that, no one gave it to you. Sure he was wrong this time, but often times many players are wrong and/or things end up changing over time. For all we know Zafina ends up being a counter pick choice in later meta, maybe she gets buffed. Etc. HAPPENS EVERY GAME. Anyways. My point is. Honestly, I'd wish people weren't so reliant on tier lists as if they were gospel. That's how you get people blaming character strength over just learning the matchup. Just because a weak character wins something doesn't mean they were a secret high tier. Please give credit to the players behind the characters.
i dont like sonicfox at all, but i give him a pass because he went up against actual tekken legacy pros. Realistically, he should have lost with any character he decided to pick. Even if Zafina is actually S tier it wouldnt have carried him.
It’s so boring to me when people switch characters just because that’s the OP character at the moment. Just pick a character, if you master that character. It won’t matter what they do or what new characters comes. You can still win.

Bruh, If cash is on the line I can't blame players for tier whoring, I actually blame them for sticking to bad characters then complaining when they can't win due to those characters. In games in which victory over a single opponent is your main goal it's only natural to try and equalize the playing field, especially when you reach a high enough level where every match is a hard match, playing bad characters is just bad business. I respect the hell out of purists that stick to one char despite its shortcomings and actually do well, but I don't feel bad when they eventually fall short because that decision is on them and them alone. I think Sonic is a fantastic player, extremely talented, but he clearly overestimates the learning curve of legacy games as the same thing happened to him in SF, he went in thinking he'd take the game by storm and quickly found out that it's not the same winning in games like MK with a much shorter pro-player base, than trying to win against players that are technically just as good as him but have been playing their respective games for over a decade, those dudes are not going to lose to tourists and part timers.

its so sad how sbdy like sonic fox can be so wrong, considering his amount of experience in fighting games. ive been playing all types of fighting games for many years, and after jumping on T8 and trying several chars, it was very easy to recognize that zafina isnt as bonkers as many other chars - she is okay and definitly playable but ive found loads of issues that others dont have. anyways never had a good opinion on sonicfox, as he seems arrogant as hell and he literally always immediately switches characters or even games if he cant achieve anything. JUST LOL
People dont realize Sonic is just good when the game is new and fresh and he can use the cheapest tactics against alot of the non pros. The minute the pros get in he gets washed and goes elsewhere.
The only problem with this whole video sonic had been playing every character for a few days after he made that tweet. And still haven’t want though the whole character list yet in the lab. Just saying you THINK you will main someone dose not mean you will. Even right after that post about zafina he made 3 hours later he was in the lab with Nina and said ok I like her. Sfox dropped GG Strive after people figured out his main and claimed the game is solved. That was like 2 months after release. Dude is good at fighting games(some of them at least) but he's a joke.
SonicFox isn't a legacy player for Tekken. Those legacy players will know almost everything about every character except for the new ones.
Most other games for him are pick up and play, but this is a whole different ball game.
Pick up and play didn't work well for Sonic Fox in Street Fighter either.

@@913egok sf is pretty unique compared to some other fighters. Timing for whiffs is tighter, and reactions are only important in certain situations while most of it is just prediction, which just comes with time. And when some players have 10k hours, that intuition is practically in their DNA
@913egok you can say street fighter is also a legacy game. Those street fighter vets know everything about the game too. Street fighter also has a tighter frame window. Like in previous street fighters you had one frame links which were combos where you need to press an input in exactly ONE frame, mid-combo. That's a 30th of a second! Haven't seen any 1 frame links in sf6 but im pretty sure there are some 3 frame ones, which are still rlly hard to pull off.

Sonic fox is a top tier hopper, as long the character isn't a top tier he will not touch that character no matter how much he may like the character. If a character is better than the character he plays he's getting off the character quick. In mk as soon sindel and/or Kung Lao get nerfed he will no longer play them. Higher level Tekken is played when 2 character loyalists play because they know every match up. Higher level Tekken is more entertaining which brings more fans which brings more money. What's funny? Pro players tend to pick the same character's depending on the meta. If not for themselves, to understand what their competitors are using.
In fact MOST people do that when they give the pro consensus a chance. ESPECIALLY wen they're new to a game and want to compete.
Even if that wasn't common practice. It still makes complete sense that if Sonic's idea of a strong character was proven to be wrong? The SMART decision is to pick characters that the tops use to better understand what the differences are that make their picks worthy of being considered strong. That way you'd have an idea of what to look for in a character going foward.
Imagine if Sonic switched to another character that pros think is just as bad. Then he'd be clowned for not listening again. Right?

Sad but when it’s your job basically to perform well you could get why tier whoring is such a thing. Such is the nature of anything competitive. I think over time the buffs and nerfs could level off the playing field better since it’s still pretty much a brand new game and we’ve probably another 7 years before we get a new one.
I always found that amazing in tekken. People tend to switch characters with new releases in other franchises and tier whore like sonic fox. Tekken has that, too, but people tend to be more loyal to their characters, whether they're strong or weak, especially if they're classics. That's from what I see at least.
Just hope the devs aren't listening to the pros and balancing the game themselves..
@@brandontucker7460 I feel the game has so much depth per character it’s easier for players to remain loyalist since there’s so much to explore with the deep move list and play styles. Games like Street Fighter (different for 6 with new universal mechanics) tend to have the characters play to specific archetypes because of their limited move sets.
@mrcuddles2199 I agree, and it makes everyone's gameplay, for the most part, have some originality. I can play 5 reinas or 5 yoshimitsus, and they can all have their own style, tendencies, and strategies compared to other games where you tend to see a lot of the same stuff

I play Kazuya and i find the idea of playing tekken for the tier is not how fighting games should because in the long run it wasnt Sonic who lost it was the character and that is very desingenuos

Tbh his position is bullshit. Rangchu has won at least one tournament in Tekken 7 with one of the worst characters at the time, Panda and still is loyal to the bears, switching to Kuma in Tekken 8. It's not always about a character being op, is how you know to use a character and play against others. While Akuma was broken if you knew how to use it, you still needed to practice a lot since his combos were absolutely hard to do. That applies to every character despite their flaws.

The issue isn't switching. SonicFox was claiming Zafina was like a super top tier and veterans said no she isn't and SonicFox acted like they know better.
Devil's advocate here ( i don't know Sonic Fang) : Pro players are playing for money prizes, if there is a million dollar on the line, you are not playing for fun or to entertain the audience.. If the game is not well balanced, it is logical that they will choose a character that allows them to do well professionally. As for Feng, he is not stronger than Dragunov or Devil Jin or insert any OP char at Tekken 8 release in the top 5-7 strongest char. If he is we will only know it following top tier tournaments results. Tier whoring can only be remedied by good balancing by the devs, you cannot only blame the players for wanting to claim prizes and achieve good results in their job. It is not art, it is a competitive game with careers/reputation on the line and decent money at stake. Being a beautiful faithful loser doesn't reward you much in this field. If you look at the recent duel between Knee and Arslan, Arslan was winning 3-1 with a broken character against Bryan, what did Knee do to win the match? He picked Dragunov and won.. Doesn't take away his amazing skills but picking Drag to "equalize" the brokenness helped a lot...

But in the point of view of tierwhores, they don’t get attached to a certain character, bc in the past maybe they were loyalists until Namco nerfs the shit out of your character. Look what happened to Kazumi in tekken 7. Arslan came, beat everyone, Namco proceeds to nerf her even more. No1 played her much anymore. They killed her. The thing is u never know how the characters are gonna change, who the devs like, who they don’t like.
FGC had become boring to watch at professional level. Most everyone is a sellout and will just play whatever the meta is and that makes it boring when you have people who play with the mindset that they can't do well unless they play a character that's broken. I prefer smaller communities as they care about playing to have fun and honestly care about the characters they play. This applies to every single fighting game, this isn't exclusive to Tekken.

I just want to note that Sonic Fox said the same thing about Noctis in T7 and everyone thought he was delusional but CherryBerryMango and PhiDX showed that he was actually decent and a lot of pros changed their opinion of Noctis. Although I'm not sure if they buffed Noctis much between Sonic and the end of Tekken's lifespan but I'm pretty sure there were little to no changes overall. The problem just might be SonicFox honestly, where he can't really compete against legacy players. I mean just recently, Shadow20z won TNS with Zafina (and placed top 5 in multiple offline events). I don't think anyone is saying that she's top tier secretly but she's probably underrated.
People forget that the player behind the character is what matters most. I know you're not saying this, but I'm just so tired of the fgc disregarding the work the players do to get good with a character. Even with high tier characters, players have to study the game meticulously. Noctis didn't win because he was some secret high tier. He won because of the work PhiDx and cbm put into mastering him and the game. People will always underestimate Zafina because no one ever plays her, even when she was high tier. Shadow won the tournament, not the character. The fgc has such a strange relationship with tier lists, I swear.

I mained Asuka in T7 and around CNT-CBT, but when Reina’s trailer came out, I just fell in love with the character, design, gameplay and such and I don’t think she’s that broken (or maybe because I’m just that dumb :”D). You made a good point here about tier whores and that's why I didn't really get into Tekken 7. I didn't want to spend much time in a fighting game that has a meta that switches up because of balance changes that go with seasons and DLC characters. I think Paul is much better in Tekken 8 that I can't go back to playing him in older games, so are the bears, and I really like Azucena, but I'm sticking with TTT2 as the main Tekken game I'll keep coming back to.

As a Zafina main, I respect him for picking up Zafina and will still respect him IF he still uses her after losing instead of picking a top tier characters but he did. Zafina is not absolute trash as this video or others imply. She is still has a lot of great move and still can be played properly if you spent time with her enough. I have already won 3 local tournament with Zaf since our community here is somewhat thriving. She's like A.K.I from street fighter 6, she was deemed a trash character and is from the lowest of the lows but some persevered and didn't really care about her being a low tier and won a tournament with her. Players are humans and it's not the character that wlll carry you most of the time, It's the person playing themselves.

its crazy too because he saw shadow doing good with zafina and thought he could do the same lol. sonicfox has been a tierwhore though. from mk, to his team on dbfz, to tekken 7 starting the game late but maining zafina lol.
I’ve been following Sonic since the MKX days as that is by far my favorite fighting game of all time. If I remember correctly, even back in those days Sonic always picked and mained kinda high tier characters like Erron Black, Alien and predator, although he used the trapper variation which no one picked. I remember he used and abused Alien when it first came out and it was then decided that character was busted af but Sonic was still using it
I think he only used the trapper in like the first tournament after predator came out, so ppl were still unaware of how to deal with him. Other than that - he’s always picking strictly S tier chars, or ultra gimmicky ones, that require hard labbing to play against.
Its why i respect Fergus, as hes consistently an Asuka main, no matter her placement.
He runs his mouth too much and can't back it up. Didn't he talk himself up in SF6 and drop that? He's really good at figuring out set play kind of stuff in MK, but once people catch up, he plateaus
as long as the character isnt full on useless, would be cool if people went back to playing who they thought was cool/fun. But ofc i understand that when money is on the line you gotta do what you gotta do

I don't play Tekken except for offline sessions with friends. What makes Zafina weak in T8 comapred to T7?
Movement was the whole reason she was considered high tier in t7. It was better than Alisa's, which is saying something. So an opponent could have her in + plus, and she could just back dash and the opponent would whiff despite their advantage. She also had an extremely good, high and mid crushing low that reached far (b1+2 )and great plus frames moves that could also counter hit launch. Mind you, the last two basically every character in t7 had, so that's not really strange. In t8 movement has been nerfed and, consequently, so has she. Most of her moves leave her punishable. Her only safe punish is 1, 3. Her best counter hit launchers no longer launch, which is normal across the board but man, she needs something in order for people to respect her when she's in + frames. Poor range. She has to be up close. She's so slow, so...where most of the cast can just mash and be somewhat fine, zafina constantly risks getting counter hit. Her best low poke is hidden behind a stance now and can be jabbed before it crushes, so it's better to be in + frames before throwing it out. All her lows sucks besides the one hidden behind a stance. Her overall damage is just atrocious outside of the wall compared to the rest of the cast. She has to sacrifice life with no way of getting it back in order to get a combo that barely hits 63. Her only 12frame punish is her heat smash and that's really the only reason i enter heat with her. And also to get chip without sacrificing health. She barely has any sort of chip damage that doesn't rely on her sacrificing her health when not in heat. Her normal heat smash is a great punisher, but has poor range. The first part can whiff very easily and the second part is so damn slow that it leaves her open long enough for people to get a counter hit launcher. She has another heat smash, but I forget it exists sometimes. But it's a low hitting heat smash so I'm assuming it's good. I've only been playing the game for a 2 weeks now and so I could be wrong on a few things. I do think if this were t7 she'd be mid. I still think t6 is her worst version, but that's debatable. Personally, I think people underestimate her but at the same time I have to be careful where people can just freely mash. She's still fun though.

I'm an Asuka main, and apparently she's not good, but I liked her since T5. I assumed that someone like Arslan had the same logic of character choice, but it seems like that may not have been the case.
I just play Tekken 8 when I'm at my friends house because I don't have a PS5 but for me Yoshi is A+ "trust". I played him a lot in Tekken 7 and they fixed almost all his lose ends, but created a few ones. Is b3 and b4 evades should be losing recoverable health for his meditation stance to have more purpose and now that his qcf1 isn't unblockabile it seems totally useless. Even make it unblockable again or give it a helicopterstance cancel.
Us SF6 players are still here, but like already splitting our time with 8

See thats a huge difference in players that tend to be more knowledgeable and self sufficient. They do their own homework and dont spend most of their study and lab time watching others and reading up on others opinions without doing the work themselves. Following opinions blindly. Regardless of where your sources come from. Theresa different level of certainty fibding out for yourself.
What have knowledge checks in all these different fighting games taught us? YOU have to kow the right answers. YOU have to know how it works. For some people its not enough to be TOLD. Its preferential to understand why and once you learn, you have that training, knowledge and experience in the bag. You earned that, no one gave it to you.
Sure he was wrong this time, but often times many players are wrong and/or things end up changing over time. For all we know Zafina ends up being a counter pick choice in later meta, maybe she gets buffed. Etc. HAPPENS EVERY GAME.
Anyways. My point is. AT LEAST Sonic is doing homework and trusting their own findings.. Some of you trying to clown em for not blindly following others opinions like the average player does is so wack.

Honestly, I'd wish people weren't so reliant on tier lists as if they were gospel. That's how you get people blaming character strength over just learning the matchup. Just because a weak character wins something doesn't mean they were a secret high tier. Please give credit to the players behind the characters.
i dont like sonicfox at all, but i give him a pass because he went up against actual tekken legacy pros. Realistically, he should have lost with any character he decided to pick. Even if Zafina is actually S tier it wouldnt have carried him.

Bruh, If cash is on the line I can't blame players for tier whoring, I actually blame them for sticking to bad characters then complaining when they can't win due to those characters. In games in which victory over a single opponent is your main goal it's only natural to try and equalize the playing field, especially when you reach a high enough level where every match is a hard match, playing bad characters is just bad business. I respect the hell out of purists that stick to one char despite its shortcomings and actually do well, but I don't feel bad when they eventually fall short because that decision is on them and them alone.
I think Sonic is a fantastic player, extremely talented, but he clearly overestimates the learning curve of legacy games as the same thing happened to him in SF, he went in thinking he'd take the game by storm and quickly found out that it's not the same winning in games like MK with a much shorter pro-player base, than trying to win against players that are technically just as good as him but have been playing their respective games for over a decade, those dudes are not going to lose to tourists and part timers.

its so sad how sbdy like sonic fox can be so wrong, considering his amount of experience in fighting games. ive been playing all types of fighting games for many years, and after jumping on T8 and trying several chars, it was very easy to recognize that zafina isnt as bonkers as many other chars - she is okay and definitly playable but ive found loads of issues that others dont have. anyways never had a good opinion on sonicfox, as he seems arrogant as hell and he literally always immediately switches characters or even games if he cant achieve anything. JUST LOL
People dont realize Sonic is just good when the game is new and fresh and he can use the cheapest tactics against alot of the non pros. The minute the pros get in he gets washed and goes elsewhere.
The only problem with this whole video sonic had been playing every character for a few days after he made that tweet. And still haven’t want though the whole character list yet in the lab. Just saying you THINK you will main someone dose not mean you will. Even right after that post about zafina he made 3 hours later he was in the lab with Nina and said ok I like her.
