It's rare you find doctors willing to speak about their religion, if theyre even religious at all. It's refreshing to hear a doctor combining earthly wisdom of modern medicine with spiritual wisdom through humility and faith in God..So many doctors think they are gods themselves and disconnect from patients..

It’s exactly saying a food sucks even though you have never eaten it. I’m gonna guess the reason you only called God cruel, incompetent, etc. Is because of either other people who haven’t truly felt God or like I said you haven’t felt God at all. You blame him for all the wrong stuff that we had humans do and yet for good that happens you say it is because of your own doing. Like I said you can have your own opinions but don’t go around talking bad about other religions. It’s just rude and disrespectful.

@@stacy993 : What makes you think
I've "never eaten it"? I'm speaking from first-hand experience.
And what IS "rude and disrespectful" is the way you believers in the occult keep trying to get your superstitions reflected in public policy and even enshrined into law. Just keep them to yourself.
Freedom of religion means you are free to believe whatever nonsense you want, but it ALSO means we are just as free to believe something else -- and to say so freely.
(Oh, and anybody who has "truly felt God" was obviously just hallucinating, if you didn't realize that.)

@@stacy993 : Why should I "respect" offensive nonsense that is used as a weapon against people who just haven't been brainwashed into the cult? And I call it *nonsense* because that's exactly what it is.
Seriously, look carefully at all the tenets of what you believe, and you should be able to see how illogical and preposterous most of it is.
Which is why you have "faith" -- which just means believing without question something that doesn't stand up to the slightest scrutiny. That's not a good thing at all.
I'm not the least bit afraid of being "called out", as you call it, because I know that logic, facts, and common sense are on my side.
I don't "disregard the fact that there are people who actually believe in this stuff". I KNOW that -- which is why I speak up when I see people spewing drivel unchallenged. SOMEBODY has to object. And if it has to be me, well, that's just what it means.

As an RN & a Christian, it warms my heart to see a surgeon like you. I have my own list of Drs that if I, or a family member, needs a speciality type Dr, I have some that I would choose. The qualities I look for are not just a “good” Dr with a “good” medical history, but I also look at their bedside manner, how they talk to & care for patients.
I pray that this video & your book will help other medical personnel learn that you have to take care of the whole patient, not just their physical illness. And prayer does change things!

As an RN and aspiring APRN, it is so refreshing to hear a doctor talk about the "rapid fire" thoughts of worry and failure. I feel it so much but it's really frowned upon to speak it. Thank you for being human. And as a Christian, it gives me so much hope to hear you talk about praying for your patients. Thank you for speaking so humbly. I'm a new subscriber for sure.

This is absolutely the most touching Story of Gods Miracules Power!
I have seen it myself as a nurse and in my personal intercessory life.
Declairing God's healing Power and wonders in healing.
I truly believe that we should always talk to those who are in a coma as if they are in their present mind. You would be surprised when you have them talk back.
Keep doing such an amazing job making His love reach out to others in the darkness of this world. God Bless you!

I downloaded your book on Kindle a few days ago. I just finished it. I loved the book. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it brought me to my knees to pray. I am so happy that you have not quit being a doctor. Thank you for your insight.

Thank you for your loving kindness to this dear patient. I know your love made all the difference to her.
Mrs. Eddy wrote the same thing in the latter part of the 19th century. About how bedside manner makes a big difference in how the patient's feel. How did she know? She was an invalid for many years. People and Drs. who came to see her that were unintentionally mean or unkind affected her health without knowing it. God bless you for realizing that you are not God, you are helping Him.

Dr. Youn. You are a role model for other health care providers. Specially surgeons who believe their connection to patient is only preop visit and OR. Once surgery finished, patient is somebody else’s responsibility!
You have taught a great lesson.
    God bless you.

What a moving story, Dr. Youn. You not only touched the life of your patient, but she touched your life as well. A doctor's bedside manner is so important. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I was very frightened. After going through surgery, I developed sepsis within 48 hours and soon after went into septic shock and nearly died. During the three weeks that I was hospitalized, my surgeon (who was very cold and abrasive to begin with) didn't visit me once but just sent his PAs in to check on me. How I wish I had a doctor like you at that time. It would have helped me recover much faster and better. I am a Christian and believe strongly in the power of prayer and in praying for others while touching their hand or a shoulder if that person is comfortable with me doing so. That human touch is not only comforting but healing as well. Thank you for being so kind.

Studies also show playing harp music during surgery improves patient outcome. The surgeon who performed my surgery played it at my request & I healed quickly. I had another surgery in August. The surgeon claims he played it but I do not believe him. My healing is slower than expected & I hurt.

Just knowing your doctor is pulling for you makes a huge difference in outcome. About 12 years ago my mother, who had MS and significant disability, developed pneumonia. At that point she was cared for at home by her family. Minutes after being seen by an ER doctor we were told the "most compassionate" treatment was to let her go. She had no significant quality of life. I knew this was not her wish and I told him. He became very frustrated with me and turned to my brother in hopes of him talking sense into me. We stood firm and insisted on her being treated. From that's point foreword it was a constant battle with the doctors. ( In Canada you get the doctor you get- rarely do you have a choice). They took her off meds, they declared her unable to swallow( she could she just needed modifications) . It was one battle after another. After 12 days she came home following another battle involving a nursing home. She lived 10 more years ( at home and without a feeding tube btw) but the whole experience made her terrified of doctors and hospitals. She knew they believed her life wasn't valuable because of her condition. She wasn't fighting with them to live she was fighting in spite of them. Always pull for your patient. Even if you wouldn't want to live the way they do. Their life has value to them and their family.
