She makes no effort to hide it. Young people don't want to face their helplessness and shame in such a naked way. They want to hide from it by identifying with someone who appears immune to it. Thus their preference for comedians with sarcastic, bitter don't-give-a-crap attitudes. Its only when we get older and give up hiding that we are willing to acknowledge and enjoy displays of the human fears and weakness we all have in common.

Maria Bamford is walking, talking, comedic testimony, proving that Saturday Night Live is a hack late night tell-lie-vision show that had it's best Saturday nights decades and decades ago. The fact that she hasn't been made a regular cast member on that show speaks volumes to all the political insanity that infests network T.V. as a whole. Maria is clever, funny and authentic. SNL is the exact opposite. :-I
