I can definitely confirm that Justice Bean is small! So don’t bring your whole house with you! The rooms have narrow walkways just for your bed, closet, and desk and nothing else. I loved how they had singular bathrooms and not communal. Definitely was blasting my music in the shower. Overall, the residence hall is great and renovated so you’re in for a treat. And meeting people is easy if you live in second and third floor. Not first as much as I thought. I lived here and felt isolated from important communities like the Latinx Arc at the residence hall

Duck bucks you get 50$ per term to use in the duck store or the fast food places in the EMU like panda express, chipotle, starbucks etc. and the meal points you use to pay for dinner at the different places on campus I'd say a typical meal is about 5-6points and snacks vary I'd say the standard plan is probably the best one to get if you're not much of a snacker
Also I had a vehicle on campus, and overnight camping IS EXPENSIVE. If you’re comfortable riding even with COVID going on, ride the bus at Greyhound to go back home if you want to save on parking, gas and insurance🙏🏼 cheap rides to Portland under $20!
I'm coming from Texas and was planning on bringing my car because I don't know anybody in Oregon, nor do I have a backup place to visit/stay besides campus. I was planning on paying for overnight on campus so I can use my car to explore the other cities and stuff. Do you think it's worth it or should I rely on the bus?
Audrey Money I would definitely bring it still! I live four hours away from campus yet I brought my car for easy access to home and the city. The commute on the bus can take up to an hour or more depending on which mall you go, so it’s definitely and investment on time and money. Plus you can visit the corners of Oregon cheap depending on how much gas your car takes. I was just saying it was expensive and to take the bus for those stressing that it was ABSOLUTELY necessary to bring a car. You can get by and get places still without one:)
I recently committed to UO and I’m super excited. I have been accepted into a RC and I was wondering if it’s common for most UO freshmen to be a part of an arc/rc?
Look into GSH, I lived there for the first term or my freshman year, it’s super nice and a great experience for a first year. It’s a little bit pricey but very worth it! But where ever you end up living you will love and have a great experience!
Hi! I’m heavily considering going to Oregon for class of ‘25, in your HONEST opinion, do you like going to school there? And do you like the actual city/surrounding area?
I personally go to UO currently and I lived in the dorms for the first term and I lovedddd it!!! UO is so open and you get to meet so many new people. Love the city UO is in which is Eugene, you can literally walk anywhere and take the bus as well, it’s so cute. You can also Uber anywhere in town.
For the four person suite, everyone has their own bed, and closet but I'm pretty sure you share on large room. Also I think because of COVID the University of Oregon will only allow two people to share a room. Hope this helps!
No, you're just more likely to get accepted into the arc if its your decided major. Also I think for some you're required to take classes together so take that into consideration (also yes i do attend UO rn i'm a sophmore)
Dorms are on a "first come, first serve" basis. The sooner you sign the "letter of intent" the sooner you apply for housing and thus the better chance of getting your top-pick dorm. Dorms are not specific to majors.
I stayed in Riley. The rooms are a lot bigger than most two person dorms. Each room also has a sink mirror area, so you don't need to take a much of your gear to the shower area. Big windows, and two floors of rooms. Main floor was lounge, music area, kitchen and study rooms. Downside was it was a further walk to classes, and no cafeteria in the building.
@@jasveersinghmatharu8563 also ive done some research on international students as I’m from England and I don’t think there is any specific isolated international dorms I think they mix us all up

Could you do an explanation of duck bucks and the meal plan point system? It's so confusing-

Awesome videos Sharon!
Haha the showers in Hamilton hall ahhhhhhhhhhh
Oh and my bed is steel! Idk about the other rooms thought
I’m planning on going to U of O in ‘22, and majoring in Cinema Studies. Where would you recommend I look into living freshman year?
Look into GSH, I lived there for the first term or my freshman year, it’s super nice and a great experience for a first year. It’s a little bit pricey but very worth it! But where ever you end up living you will love and have a great experience!
If you can afford it, GSH, 100%!

Yeah i agree with samantha I go to UO too and its honestly great
I wanna be in basketball in the future
is there a drom Hall near the Joursoum building so you don"t have to walk that far and the cafe area food carte as well.
idk which building you're referring to but llc, bean, earl, carson are all pretty much in the center of campus and near most things
For the people who play sports, do they typically have one specific dorm they all share or is it still based on your major?
Anyone else’s parents making them do research on this stuff?
What's the difference between communal and noncomunnal bathrooms?
Communal bathrooms are open to anyone on the floor. Non-communal means the bathroom is only open to people in your dorm room.
Question- Global scholars hall , the four person does everyone have there own room?
For the four person suite, everyone has their own bed, and closet but I'm pretty sure you share on large room. Also I think because of COVID the University of Oregon will only allow two people to share a room. Hope this helps!
Is the pay are per term or month or what ??
Does an arc of the dorm relate to your decided major it it it just a suggestive community?
No, you're just more likely to get accepted into the arc if its your decided major. Also I think for some you're required to take classes together so take that into consideration (also yes i do attend UO rn i'm a sophmore)
Can you choose any hall you want? Or does it depend on your major
you can choose any hall, you're more likely to get your choice if a certain ARC or RC that you're accepted into is in that hall
Dorms are on a "first come, first serve" basis. The sooner you sign the "letter of intent" the sooner you apply for housing and thus the better chance of getting your top-pick dorm. Dorms are not specific to majors.
Are you a native Oregonian? Can you vlog your experiences in the city? Future Portlander watching and waiting :)
Hi! Yes, I was born and raised in Portland, OR! I will start doing some vlog style videos! Thanks for the suggestion :)
oregon has acceptance rate of 80% its nice community college in Eugene
Do you have jet sprays in the washroom?
NO! We wish, lol. They are regular old shower heads.
Hi haha do you have anything on Riley Hall?
Hi! I believe Riley Hall will be closed this year (2020-2021)

Where would I stay if u play football?
Do you mean as a freshmen or when you are a sophmore?
What about international dorms?
I believe dorms are payed yearly, I think it’s included in your tuition fee
