I can confirm that I have six toes. Also all the Baltic countries have the one sport theyre best at.Latvia has Ice hockey,Lithuania has basketball,Estonia has athletics.
Because Its a small country of about 1.5 million people. and we still compete with larger countries like Norway,Austria,France sometimes we even manage to beat a really good team.Such as Sweden and Slovakia.
Latvian Atheist But in 1.5 million people there's still potential for much more than 5000 or so registered players. Finland has about 5.5 million people and 75000 registered players.
Latvian Atheist I was actually really surprised to find that there are more football players (about 140 000) than ice hockey players. And our national team is quite horrible too.
Latvian Atheist Yeah, if I remember correctly you also beat Finland in Sochi, or was it some World Championships. Anyway, hopefully now that Zlatan won't play for Sweden anymore Sweden will be just as bad as the rest of us up here in the North.
Since Estonia increased the tax on liquor, alcohol has become cheaper in Latvia indeed. Latvian border towns now get a boost in sales of alcoholic drinks and lots of specialised liquor shops have opened along the border of LV and EE
Yeah there are some interesting differences if you disregard the vocabulary. Estonian is the only Finnic language to have lost vocal harmony, so the words can change in every possible way. Colloquial Estonian also drops a lot of word endings, like "kolmkümmend" (30) becomes "kolgend".
We don't think anything bad of you. Lithuania is quite far away and most Estonians don't have much contact with them. The only thing that I can recall is that if we travel to Lithuania we are mostly expected to speak Russian but I actually know very few people who speak Russian.

6:15 Finland is (obviously) the same way with the sadness. Even, if you look at many of our ancient lullabies, they were originally burial/mourning songs for dead children; back, when infant mortality rates were soaring. One famous lullaby, sung even to my generation of 1990’s kids (myself included), actually laments the fact that a child should be born to such a poor, frozen, foodless land, with no father or mother, no-one to take care of them, and that they would be better off in _”Tuonela”_ (”Underworld”), a.k.a. Dead; and that’s a lullaby sung to children to lull them to sleep. Just let that sink in. Also, one of our most popular Christmas songs *_(NOT_* Christmas carols; Christmas songs) is _”Varpunen jouluaamuna”_ (”Sparrow on Christmas Morning”), which was originally a comfort poem, written by Zacharias Topelius to his daughter, after her baby brother passed away as a small child. The poem was about telling his daughter that her baby brother’s spirit, his soul, lives on in a sparrow; and that is one of, if not *_THE MOST_* popular, Christmas songs in Finland. Think about that, all you Americans and Europeans, and everyone, who’s used to Christmas being this all-happy holiday. 🇫🇮

As a Estonian I think the most attractive quality of the whole region of Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia is the clash of eras and cultures. You have a mix of Soviet, Western, medieval, brought in style of Lutheran, Orthodox etc. Basically a whole lot of styles in a small compact area. I semi-love how entire areas are recycled, like the region of old Soviet factories that were abandoned in Tallinn suddenly propped up as a "hipster heaven" of new mini shopping malls, cafes and living areas being built inside the husks of old factory buildings. Makes it kind of a real life cyberpunk type of situation of "abandoned tech" being used for a new purpose.

The saddest thing: Norwegians come to Finland to buy alcohol. Althought I think mostly some fancy stuff their monopoly prices even more steeply. Almost 40% of population of Estonia are ethnic Russians who have nothing in common with Estonia or Estonian culture. Its a result of Stalin policy. He sent millions of Russians to Baltic states to colonize it.
Priit Toomingas there are also Russians without any citizenship. Nobody REALLY knows how many are there because they are unregistered especially in Virumaa area.
Both incorrect. The people who speak Russian in general hovers around 60% of the population. The actual Russian population (disregarding Ukrainians, Belarusians, and other Russian-speaking people) is around 25-30% registered, and an additional few percentages who have not received citizenship. So around 33%. About half of Riga is Russophone.
Well, to put in real life terms... it might not be fist world but it's a country where a person with average income can easily afford to have an iPhone

40%?? cmon dude, it's like 25%. Check your facts
Priit Toomingas there are also Russians without any citizenship. Nobody REALLY knows how many are there because they are unregistered especially in Virumaa area.
we know how many there are, the have the permission to live here and work so we know they are here and are counted
