We vaccinate with the Bordetella regularly. Our vet recommends it especially if your dog goes to the dog park, a doggy daycare or just comes in contact with other dogs often. I’m glad all the dogs are doing better, and pray Ritzy is in top shape soon.❤

Our club was notified by the AKC that there is a new strain they are referring to as Canine Respiratory Illness that is severe and can be deadly going crazy across the US. If your dog starts coughing, please don't wait thinking this will resolve itself, this stuff is turning into pneumonia quickly.. This is NOT the canine influenza that was making the rounds a couple of years ago.

According to the boarding facility, the bordatella shot is like flu shot for humans where they give of a cocktail of various strains they predict are more prevalent. So they can catch a different strain the shot didn’t cover.

I had a boarding kennels many moons ago and unfortunately we had this virus cough a couple of times thru an already infected dog (not displaying symptoms when it came in)bringing it into the kennels, which then infected the dogs there and those still coming in. Such a worrying time cause people always blame the kennels, but as I said, “we don’t go round spraying the dogs with this virus it’s a dog that brings it in”. This was before there was the nasal vaccine. It’s a nuisance disease to most dogs but can be harmful to young or elderly dogs. My husband and I were so glad when the nasal vaccine became available and it was most effective in helping to prevent this virus cough coming into the kennels as we insisted that all dogs who were coming to board had to be vaccinated against distemper, kennel cough and then parvovirus. Neither my husband nor I got kennel cough. From the UK

Kennel cough is airborne and can linger for days. If you take your dog to a groomer, a vet, or somebody else’s house they can contract it just by breathing. That’s why it’s important to get your dogs vaccinated!

You can get the Bourdella vaccine which is supposed to help prevent Kennel cough. We get for our small dogs because we take them on trips etc with us. We just get it when we get the other vaccinations. Have to have around here if you board or have your dog groomed. Thankful y’all caught it quick. ❤❤

If I was to kennel my dog if going on holiday they recommend you vaccinate then even if you have already vaccinated. I learnt this after my dog co reacted Kennel cough. Our dogs get their bordatella vaccine every 6 months, but that's mainly because we board them when we travel. They have never got kennel cough in all the times we have boarded them, thank goodness. We adopted my little dog 13 years ago from the spca, she had kennel cough when we got her and it took 2 rounds of antibiotics, before it was gone. I'm glad your dogs are better, I hope ritzy comes through it soon.

I know you guys don't board your dogs, but with you guys rescuing dogs occasionally it might be good for you to talk to the vet about vaccinating your doggies in the future. ❤️
FYI - Yes there is a vaccine for kennel cough, but dogs can still get it. Because my dog goes to a daycare for dogs they require it, so I keep up with all the shots, but Ella still came down with it.

Kennel cough vaccine is an extra vaccine that normally is not included in basic vaccine care. Where I live it is offered if your dog will be going to dog parks or around other dogs and all the boarding places require it. At this point since you guys do bring home strays you might wantvto vaccinate all your dogs because it can get worse.

You can please some of the folks all of the time, you can please all of the folks some of the time. But no matter what you do you can't please all of the people all of the time. So bottom line? Stay true to yourself and do what works for you and makes you and Jami happy. Lester there is also a flue for dogs that they cough to and Mine had it and we almost lost all of them. Then they say after the fact that they do have a vaccination for it. After hurricane Katrenia they brought up dogs to NH and non was vaccinated. Mine where registered dogs and were vaccinated for most things.
I get my dogs vaccinated for bordetella when I am in Central Oregon, coyotes carry it and when your dogs sniff their poop they pick up the boardetella from that.

Once I sent LE Ashirt before they moved to ISS and I let him know it was coming but he never received it. So the company replaced it and sent him a new one. I know you can’t let everybody know you got their gift on video or by email or whatever. I don’t know that there is a solutions to it. I guess if we don’t know we just have to assume you received it 🧡🎁📦

I'm glad that the canine crew are better except for poor old Ritzy. I was concerned about her getting the KC because she's older. Prayers for Ritzy that she can get over this really soon. It's got to be hard on her. 😢
As for the gifts and goodies, many if us enjoy giving! Some that give make something or send a heirloom of sorts. It's their joy to see your joy of receiving it. Just like the joy you get of giving your kids something special and seeing their reaction. Like at Christmas, seeing others open your gift and watching the smile, laughter or "huh? what is this?" 😂

Kennel cough can be vaccinated for. Around here it's it's one of those that is automatically given with the other standard vaccines. I pray that Ritzy starts feeling better soon. 💖🙏💖

I had my dog groomed and they said Bortella vaccine has to be given every 6 months ❤❤❤. You guys can give the vaccine yourselves.

They don’t typically vaccinate for kennel cough if you don’t board your dogs. That’s what my vet says anyway. I’m wondering if Bond, James Bond brought it with him. I don’t know how people found the address to LHL. Sheesh!

Kennel cough vaccine is an extra vaccine that normally is not included in basic vaccine care. Where I live it is offered if your dog will be going to dog parks or around other dogs and all the boarding places require it. At this point since you guys do bring home strays you might wantvto vaccinate all your dogs because it can get worse.

You can please some of the folks all of the time, you can please all of the folks some of the time. But no matter what you do you can't please all of the people all of the time. So bottom line? Stay true to yourself and do what works for you and makes you and Jami happy. There are a ton of us just tickled you roll with the punches that come with having a farm animal sanctuary and a "ranch" with a growing herd of beautiful and handsome longhorns and allow us to come along with you and see and hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. Those who don't understand how lucky we are that you, Jami and pretty much all the Morrow family have allowed us into your personal lifes can mosey on down the road to other video creators that suit them better. I suppose because I know how he was always so sickly until you brought them to LHL and made him the leader. It was such a joy to watch him blossom into an amazing leader. Happy everybody is getting over the nasty cough. Will keep Rizty in our thoughts cause that stuff is harder on our older babies. I was just loving on my Dewy last night and we had a long talk about how gray her chin is becoming and how her rattlesnake bit leg is giving her more trouble as the years go by oh well enough of that. In my opinion…(& this is strictly MY opinion) ..if someone sends a gift to you EXPECTING you to open it up on a gift & goodies for the power & glory of sending a gift & getting their name mentioned....well..that defeats the whole purpose of sending a gift.

Yes there is a vaccination for kennel. Cough. . Any dog that is Kenneled while parents work, have to be vaccinated

Lester there is also a flue for dogs that they cough to and Mine had it and we almost lost all of them. Then they say after the fact that they do have a vaccination for it. After hurricane Katrenia they brought up dogs to NH and non was vaccinated. Mine where registered dogs and were vaccinated for most things.
I get my dogs vaccinated for bordetella when I am in Central Oregon, coyotes carry it and when your dogs sniff their poop they pick up the boardetella from that.
I think what happened is that brought Bond to LHL, with out quarantine, there is a vaccine for kennel cough, do it for my dogs
