Really enjoying these breakdowns and analyses. Im fairly new to Cinematography and filmmaking so these types of videos help me navigate around what types of decisions DPs have to conclude upon before shoot day. Awesome one. Thanks so much for this.
Something of a nice Alan Parker feeling to that push on her at the end, and I think definitely a hint at how he and his class developed this kind of cinema. Great video sir, hungry for part 2.
In another video you said i hate the sun sandwich, but if i get it right its used in the wide right? What would be another option if you dont bounce the sun?
When I flop the line I do a push on the wide then creep dolly on the MCU in the same direction so left If on her to anchor the geography to the move so we still feel where we are
First off, fantastic work. I know self-deprecation is part of your act, but you are a very talented cinematographer. Secondly, thank you for taking our feedback after the Pyxis breakdown and showing us more of your work. It is amazingly helpful especially when you add in the storyboards and location stills. I can’t wait for the next one, many thanks!

Your content is 😍
this is amazing, is it possible to see the lighting and camera position on set?
maybe
Why do you use 2000 iso? Is it just for details in the blacks/ shadows and then you prevent clipping with ND?
In another video you said i hate the sun sandwich, but if i get it right its used in the wide right? What would be another option if you dont bounce the sun?
Like it.
When I flop the line I do a push on the wide then creep dolly on the MCU in the same direction so left If on her to anchor the geography to the move so we still feel where we are
awesome breakdown ... what is the software you're using to show this ? the one where you're drawing
photoshop
@@wanderingdp no the other one where you have the story board drawings and the shots with the sunseeker , not the final stills
Edit: for example 9:39
Always liked your content, but never made time to listen to the podcast. Going to start that now!

How come the final shots looks so much better than the rehearsal ones? The camera and sun are in roughly the same positions. What is this sorcery?
