- Celebrating the Summer Solstice, my thoughts turn to Áine, the goddess of midsummer. She has a designated altar in my garden.
If you would like to know more about Áine and the way I celebrate the summer solstice and the other festivals, have a look at Wise Woman Way training here danusirishherb...
The website is being renewed and updated and will be ready to launch soon, but here is it is at the moment danusirishherb...

The story of Áine was very inspiring for this weary, old American lady. My old red horse, a gelding not mare, passed over just before the Solstice. Perhaps he runs wild now with the faery herds. He always was fast. Perhaps the Goddess will enjoy a ride on his now strong back! 🐎🍀 Terri, wishing you and your man summer abundance, blessings and a little rest too. 🌞🌻✨
Condolences NaD - sorry to hear that. I am sure he IS running fast with the faery herds - what else would he be doing! Wishing you heart's ease and many blessings xx
So sad having to say goodbye to an animal you have loved, but it the price we have to pay 😢
Thank you for the peek into your "Summer Garden" and the beautiful world of the Great Goddess! Living in the subtropics and being the rainy and unbearably hot time of the year, it is quite the job keeping the plants trimmed, pruned and looking good! Yet, being in Mother Nature is the "antidote" for staying in a POSITIVE and UPLIFTED state of mind as uncomfortable truths are revealed. The Great Goddess and Herbal Medicine are the natural way navigate Great Awakenings. 🌄
You are so right Carolyn. We can always fall back on our Mother for help and support and for that antidote xxx
I love listening to stories of old, so many have come down through time. Enjoy the growth the Mother is providing as she enjoys carers looking after her. Take care =-)
Blessings to you Lorraine, I am enjoying all the growth and have lots to do with all the abundance! xx
I've never heard of Aine before. What a lovely story about her - thank you for sharing it as well as her area in your yard.
You are very welcome Nana, blessings to you xx
Onya certainly brings joy to your lovely garden 🪴 love and joy to you xxxx
Many happy returns Wendy, for love and joy. xx
Hi Terri - Your videos always make my heart smile. You & Lol have a beautiful place to live and play. Every little nook and cranny brings a new bunch of flowers and herbs. The weather here in the US has not been good for my little veggie garden. The deer are eating things that they don’t even like. I have deer everywhere. I’m just trying to keep my tomatoes and cucumbers out of their reach. Love seeing your little pets. They are so adorable. Enjoy the rest of summer. Hoping you get some sunny days to enjoy being outside. Hugs. 💕☀️🐱🐶🦋🐝🪴🌺
I hope the weather improves for you and the veggies. I think we have some sunny days coming!😃 xx
When it's running wild with roses and honeysuckle you know you're in a good place. I'm glad I found your channel.
I agree - I am so lucky and blessed. Thanks for watching xx
As a woman living in the US, I so appreciated the story of Aine. Thank you.
You are welcome Suze . I hope her story gives you strength. xx
THANK YOU for taking time out to build this herb course for us! 💕 It’s been wonderful transforming my plants into healing uses while encouraging me to find daily peace in nature.
Thanks Charlie - I am so delighted to hear that. So glad to you are finding peace xx
What a beautiful story, and so relevant to many political events right now. Thank you for sharing. We have also had a very rainy start to summer where I am in Canada, but with the rain comes a lot of green and abundance. Enjoy the beautiful bouquet of roses!
Thank you Amanda I most certainly will - about to make some Mead!! xx Have a great week! xx
Sending you love and strength to get all your Course work completed. By sheer fluke I have the same Fairy statue in my garden...So I shall call her Onya from now on🥳🥰 June Soltice birthday girl, so it seems fortuitous to have Onya with me in my garden. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
Happy Birthday Moira! Have a wonderful year. Hoping Áine brings you lots of abundance of all the good things xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden Bless your heart and for you too. Thanks for the spelling of' Àine' too. I did not know🥰.
As always, does my heart good. Summer Solstice is my favorite day so this was especially lovely for me. Thank you.💗

The pets were having a fantastic time so lovely to see🥰xx
They have a lot of bounce! xx
As one taking your herbal medicine class-I can’t recommend it enough. I found you on here and am so blessed that you created the class. It’s been great to connect with like-minded women. The knowledge I’ve acquired from the course-and sheer inspiration has been priceless!
I love your stories and gentle manner. Thanks for what you bring to our troubled world!
Crystal
Thank you so much Crystal. I really appreciate that and am delighted the course has been so helpful to you. Thanks to you too for all you bring to our world. YOU are priceless xxx
Terri, you and the four-leggeds (and winged, when they're about) truly lift my spirits xxx
How lovely to hear that Diane - I'm delighted. xx
Lovely hearing about the solstice. My birthday is on this day & I was lucky this year as I went over to my favourite island on the west coast of Scotland. It has been a cold summer here in Scotland but very beautiful & lush. Thank you Terri .wishing you blessings.
A very chilly summer here too. Happy Birthday - belated! Blessings for a great year xx
Terri what you see as untidy I see as beautiful. I do not like manicured gardens or yards. I see all sorts of Gods creatures making a home there, including you when the wind is blowing. How nice to have a spot out of the wind. Those roses will be happy indoors with you as the next heavy rain and wind could decimate them before their beauty is enjoyed. :-)
Thanks Annie, I don't like to be too tidy either. Just as well😅
Thank You Terri for sharing Your wonderful Garden with us . I feel like I am standing on my head as I celebrated The Winter Solstice down here in New Zealand hahaha . It was lovely though, we pulled the large Cauldron out into the courtyard and had a mini bonfire inside it to celebrate the Returning Sun . Burnt off a lot of dross of dried Herbs etc and also for cleansing. Funnily enough the smoke was billowing up and going right over the head of my Darling (he is about 6 foot and I am 5.5 )...we were laughing because no matter where I stood it would follow me around ...I figured I must have needed a good cleansing especially with the Bay Leaves . I did sleep like a Babe though and feel wonderful . Those Roses are DIVINE! Blessings to You ! x Grizi x
Sounds like a wonderful evening Griz and i hope you had some wonderful Mid-Winter dreams xxx

So fulfilling to hear and learn how Celtic and Norse Paganism are very similar. I was born on "Old Midsummer" (Earth is farthest from the Sun) July 5th. Midsummer (Old and Solstice) always sends me out alone onto my property to contemplate, meditate and revive my spirit. Just me, my teardrop camper and some snacks for the night to awaken on my birthday for a camp side breakfast at sunrise. Side note, I was waiting, and waiting for a new Hackberry to bloom. Its neighbor Hackberry bloomed well over a month ago. After weeks of visiting "the stick in the ground", weeding, watering and performing some personal rituals, I found numerous bursts of life and leaves all up it's skinny stem/trunk. My point being, and you exude this, is that there is energy to be enjoyed, shared, appreciated and nurtured if we just go out often and be among it. Gosh I love Sundays! A new video from Terri!
What a lovely birthday treat for yourself! What a great idea. My birthday is Autumn Equinox, I think I will do something similar. xx😀 Glad your Hackberry bloomed!
That's my birthday too (today). Happy birthday to you and may life burst forth around you always. I wasn't aware of old midsummer but I'm happy to know now.
Glorious. I love the wild yet very peaceful feel.of your garden.
I can imagine what it must be like just sitting there, meditating and
absorbing the peaceful energies. Much needed at this time
Blessed Be
You are so right Lawrie. It is lovely to sit and listen to birds and insects busying away.xx
I love your spirit, your plant wisdom and your adorable fur babies. A peaceful and productive solstice to you! The planets are aligned ♥️
Thanks IslandBuzzy, appreciate that. Hope the planets are aligned for peace and well being. xx

I so love hearing the stories of the goddesses and seeing the cats enjoying the sunshine.

Hi Terri, happy midsummer. thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden. it 's.such an honouring to the divine feminine xo
Thank you Ellen for seeing that. Especially this area. xx
So right, the change brings sadness for what has past but joy in long days still and ripening of spring planting. A difficult spring weather this year. Look forward to anything you two create. 💖💥
Blessings Tacy. We have been promised good weather for July so keeping fingers crossed. xx
Lovely story ,thank you I didn't know the story of Áine .I think the whole of Europe is overgrown ! cutting back like mad here too .Also thunderstorms ,so many yesterday from 5pm well into the early hours of today. How the weather pattern has changed in the 20 years we've lived here
WE are told to expect good weather for July! Keeping fingers crossed. xx
Have a lively day and thank you for the strory about Godess Ainia, and the summer solstice.

You are so welcome xx
Lovely story! I was not familiar with Aine. My birthday was yesterday. I’ve always thought I have the best possible birthday because it’s so beautiful out. Definitely going to honor Aine in my garden!
Brilliant! And Happy Birthday to you🎁 xx
Make the most of the summer rain, the land of Israel is very hot this time, full blown summer heat - the kind of heat that dries some of the plants, but seems like nature is very happy to celebrate summer.
Nature does her own thing I think. We have to cooperate with her. Enjoy your summer.😊
Thank you for sharing! Always a pleasure watching your films. ~ Patricia
You are welcome - thank you Terrene xx
Interesting that you mentioned mugwort. I picked my first piece on June 24th, I spotted it whilst walking the dog.
When I got home I realised it was the feast of St John the Baptist.
I had read that the traditional time for collecting this herb was St John's eve.
Have you seen that written too?
I haven't seen that . Artemesia or Mugwort is very much a plant of the Divine Feminine so I cannot see it being associated with St.John. St. John's Wort is associated with the Solstice and is usually in flower for harvesting then.xx
Thank you for sharing about A'ine. Your garden space is lovely, even overgrown. It's nice to see your animals enjoying themselves. Kentucky, USA has been so oppressively humid and hot, my poor critters just lie around until dusk if they're outside. Hoping for a good soak today! Happy Solstice and coming new moon!
Blessings for the New Moon and hope you have a good soak. xx
Hi Denise, I agree with you, her garden is so beautiful! I too and from KY, and this heat and humidity it really hard to deal with 😳
Your Aine garden is lovely. We have been having difficult weather as well. Thank you for another episode! Can't wait ti see the improvements to the website!

Thank you, I have the very same reluctance to bring flowers inside, for the very same reason. Though like you I will occasionally do so while respecting their gift of beauty in my home. Such contentment shown by all of your animals living in the moment. Beautiful story and video.
Thank you so much Sharon xx If only we could all learn to be the moment as they are, life would be so simple. xx
My favorite time to visit Ireland is just at the beginning of Lughnasadh. 🍁🍂🌾🎃

Beautiful harvest! Just curious about your tattoo on your wrist..🌀 what is this symbol?
Best!
It is a spiral - represents Life Death and Rebirth. Life keeps going only in different forms. No need to worry about death, it is just a different stage we go through. xx

Summer here in Texas has been in triple digits or high 90 we need rain
Wow - I would wilt!
Another beautiful video ...Always wonderful to see what you've been up to in your gorgeous garden 💚...I decided to try out your mead recipe and I made elderflower and rose . Could I just ask .. I've left it for 7 days in a muslin covered jar ...do I bottle it now and is it drinkable at this point ? Also does the bottle cap need to be regularly kept open to stop it getting too fizzed up ? ...Thanks again for all the stunning content ✨️
You can bottle it from a week to 10 days and then you can drink it or leave it for a bit longer. It might be a good idea to keep the cap a little lose for the first week or two. xxx
Beautiful roses. Which type are they?
I have lots of wild rambling roses - just stick them in the ground and they take off. I also have Rose rugosa which make great hedge plants and massive flowers.
So beautiful 😍
Glad you liked it! xx
Greetings gorgeousness. Love this little snippet of your beautiful summer life. I’m in Australia, a very wet Winter moving on quietly. I have a question about Callendula? May I infuse in oil the leaves and stems? They are sooodeliciously sticky, surely they will allow me to harness some of their medicinal powers? Yours red climbing roses and honeysuckle are spectacular. Mugwort is another of my favourites, will it pop back up after winter? Lots of love, Lili.
Good question - most of the medicine is in the flowers but you could try using stems and leaves but they may not be as potent. As for Mugwort, yes she comes back each year. xxx love to you too. xx
Are the leaves supposed to be good for sinus? X
Hello Dearheart, I love your videos and your beautiful, gentle ways. I got an email from you this week saying that your etsy shop was opened again but the link to etsy didn't work and when I checked at etsy it said the page didn't exist? Is it indeed open? Sometime back I wanted to buy one of your woven crosses but the shop was closed. I can't wait to see what you've got in it whenever it opens! Blessings to you and yours... 💗
Hello Maitri - I have just decided to close the Etsy shop as I am not happy with Etsy policies/politics. Everything that was in the shop is available from my website danusirishherbgarden.com/product-category/shop/ and new products are abut to be added, plus mynew website is almost ready and will be a better experience for shoppers.
