One change in a routine I set out can ruin my whole day! There absolutely nothing I can do about that initial feeling and takes me at least an hour to get out of the funk and realise things aren't that bad but I feel sorry for people around me when this happens.

Sometimes i run after change because im impulsive yet im terrified of change. Especially lately. Im à very insecure person. To Much change is going on lately and i have been freaking out. Yet i realise that i Gotta stop freaking out because it's affecting my health so i have to accept that things are going to be crazy and try to think like a chill hobo. Or à peace and love dudette that just goes with the flow. That everything is ok nous matter what. And to keep bringing myself back to these images.

A month ago, all the days at 4:00 pm I sat on the couch with my grandmother and I saw a tv show. Then, all of the sudden, the tv show was not broadcast anymore. I was shocked. I was so accustomed to watching it on a certain schedule... I said to my mom and she said that I was so exaggerated. But , I do not know if whatever changes that happened in my life i freak out only because my social anxiety or something more. Even when the old refrigerator was gone, I feel super extrange. So bad that my dream is live to another country and add to that : I will go to be a teacher, I mean I have to work with people and people change and all the environment too.

cats are my favorite, as they are independent..but I identify with elephants...and have for years. They are large beautiful beings who are misunderstood by so many. They are gentle giants that are very caring and intelligent. Many people think that they are just violent beasts. Elephants basically get angry when they feel under attack. I like your hair blue. This is a good video..and SO true. I have a terrible time with change. Once, where I worked, changed the computer program screens for intake information. It messed me up for weeks it seemed. I do the count-down to major things to help organize my feeling inside.

Definitely back up plans! I get upset at things that can't be what I'm used to or expected to be. I've learned a lot from being married and my kids it has taught me to deal with it and do my best to deal with it it's not always so simple but the anxiety isn't always that bad for me. Certain changes even with enough notice and even when I am excited can cause me major anxiety like my last major one was a surprise trip to NYC which I love it there but we had to leave our children and the night before I had a full blown emotional panic attack/meltdown and my wife was really taken back by it and wasn't sure what happened but she comforted me and she helped to calm me down. The worry and separation anxiety is always tough for me other things more or less irritate me and sometimes make me very angry but I'm usually able to switch to something to focus on to not worry as much which can be a good thing and I believe it has to do with my ADHD. Keep up the awesome videos Daniel! Yes I would also like to hear about healthy options for eating cause I like a lot of foods but the same foods and can over eat a lot cause I will snack or not eat for hours then be really hungry and cause I eat so fast it's like I'm never full. Perhaps I'm an emotional eater or eat to cope or is that the same thing either way I would like to see a clip on that! Thanks buddy!

I think it would be good of you to make a video about how you do your contingency planning. The reality is that things in this world are always changing and even when one does plan carefully things often don't work to plan or they change. So much is completely outside of our and often other immediately concerned people's control (the weather, supply chains -- as in your garlic bread example, traffic - it's an infinite list). I know I try to prepare my kids who aren't NTs for this -- both by talking about the fact that we can't expect constancy but also by working at having a Plan B and a Plan C. I know that knowing that I have other planned out options lowers my stress and makes me feel (it's an illusion of course) more in control. I hope this helps for autistics in this way, too. I think a lot of non-NTs (I'm using this term because this applies to ADHDers as well as autistics) cannot get as far as making alternate plans just in case -- so it would help a lot if you could break down for everybody how you do that kind of self-preparation. Thanks a bunch for your efforts.

I don't like change at all but I've had to learn to be flexible due to work schedules. Even then I still do my routine exactly the same way, just time shifted. Anything new thrown in the mix, like having to appear for jury duty for example, just ruins my day.
One exception is that I do actually enjoy moving frequently, and would do it every year if I could. I like the change in environment. Might be because I moved a lot as a kid. Once I have things set up though, it doesn't change unless I realize that the furniture layout could be more efficient or something. I do actually reorganize things from time to time, because I'm obsessed with efficiency and order.

I'm 27 years old, still live with my mother at home and can't see myself moving out any time soon, even if I was to get a job after lockdown then I think it would have to be voluntary work to start with to gain experience and build my confidence up before moving on to actual paid work. And even then, when I did get paid work it would probably be a while before I feel like I'd be able to cope on my own living independently, cos there's no way in hell I'd manage it now even if I could afford it lol. However, having said that I do have a purpose in life and have some goals and dreams for the future in work terms, but again it is gonna be a while before I can even think about starting trying that, but at least I do have some hopes for the future I guess.
I hope I'm not the only one still living with her folks at my age though, because house prices are through the roof at the moment and while I do still live at home I help out as much as I can, I pay my mother rent, if I don't have a place of my own after she passes then I will inherit this house from her, I am on benefits to support me because I can't necessarily work due to my mental health and Asperger's, and I do my own grocery shopping, washing, cleaning, laundry, chores, housework, and I do take pride in the fact that I don't leech off of people and am not one of those people who chooses not to work by choice, like just because they don't want to, as I hate those kinds of people who take advantage of the world and sponge off hard working people. So yeah, is anyone in the same boat as me here?

You are providing a unique opportunity for people with ASD and ADHD and parent/carers the skills to experience change with the least amount of stress and anxiety. Keep up the great work I feel a binge watching session coming on.,..watching these scratches a professional itch as I use to work with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and ADHD, ADD and had to retire due to my health so thanks again (I'm ADHD ADD too) 😉😁

I write something like that here-our polar opposition are borderline personality, nobody yet I don't think knows how far we are even polar oppositions, but a lot yes.And bordi people because they feel chronic emptiness, they feel boredom, lack of sense of direction so they can act very spontaneous, impulsive I could say in reckless manner sometimes, because of all that. They can force situations almost for that, craving for chemical substances like dopamine, adrenaline (they loose quicker dopamine in brain) and sometimes this can lead to catastrophic results- reckless behaviours like gambling or buying something very expensive, over the budget, what is not even needed and those events will have bad domino effect eventually. And me personally but loads of Aspies as well,I love harmony, less chaotic, more smoothly going life style and I need more time to make changes,I will analyse things even over analyse, but rather trying to make good decisions and prepare myself mentally first, using small steps method, not drastically-this can affect NT people as well. When i make changes (my 2 massive where moving my home country-I lived in Germany for about a year and I came to England about 11 years ago as well) finally I tend not to look back, cos I have noticed some people regret or are stuck in past,I rather move on even I do cherish beautiful memories :).If things are out of control, not in my hands like brocken boiler or something on Friday so all weekend I can be withouth hot water, then I try to relax this days, which is still not easy, but is not really healthy stressing ourself when things are not really in our hands and looking for options b or c is good idea or plan b or c,I do that as well.Onether factor is we are so active, our brain is not just active (I wish they will do more studies not just clinical or neurochemical, but purely and more deep with level of energy on those and not to cure with drugs like some wrongly think, but help energy with what? Onether energy in mechanical understanding here, but that's very difficult). So our minds sometimes are not active, but racing,Racing is hard to fall asleep man sometimes,so in conclusion why we don't like changes so much? Well at least if environmental factors or whichever changes happened at least if they are done more gently, slowly I hope we get understanding in that respect from NT.Thank you Favourite animal is hard to say about favourite about many things for me I think, but I love dogs soo much, they are so funny as well, cats, horses, ships, elefants are amazing I love many many animals, awesome creatures.Greetings to You Daniel, have a nice weekend

    Love watching these videos :)
I found a way that I deal with situations I don't like or stresses I may come across and it took me ages to work out how to do it, and I'm not sure if it's a good way or a good idea but it makes my life so Calm and tones less stressful as growing up I was always stressed I was always sick with worry, physically and mentally I was a very unwell child due to nobody knowing I was on the spectrum and being forced to be like everybody else, but it wasn't until I started working that I had to find a way to deal with it as I then had nothing around that would comfort me, so I taught myself to almost go into a dream world and pretend that nothing is real it's all just my mind and I'm pretending, so nothing mattered? So if anything doesnt go to plan or ends up different I literally always say to myself ah that's ok, that's just the way this goes, I can do this later or I'll just do this, and treat everything like it's fine doesn't matter. Unless it's a serious thing but for everyday tasks and jobs, I just go with however it goes and taught myself to think that that's the way it's meant to be and that's how it was going to go even if it isn't? Does that make sense?? Haha if you can master it life is so free! Honestly cus everyday becomes so calm and peaceful in the mind :)

I will move in England next year to live with my English partner there.
I get extremely anxious when I think in the beginning I can't bring with me all my stuff I have here in Italy. It's an obsessive thought...
So I started to imagine me putting all my boxes of stuff in my room and moving all my room with all my stuff in England with telekinesis or something. :D That image in my mind soothes me a lot and the anxiety goes away....but of course, it's not possible so when I return in the "real world" my mind finds the impossibility to bring all my things there, so difficult to accept.
I try to focus on the future when all my things will be there with me. It's not as helpful as when I imagine my whole room with stuff there, but helps. Being Aspie is challenging. ;)

Snow Cake is amazing!!! My favorite animals are frogs. I recently had to move (super last minute) and it has thrown me off so much. I've noticed that I struggle with falling asleep and waking up. (Which obviously affects my whole day) My parents have been pretty annoyed about it because I've also had more outbursts. I'll have to give the time table a try. Thanks for the idea!

My favourite animals are Sharks, especially Blue Sharks, Nurse Sharks and Lemon Sharks. I also love all Dogs especially Border Collies, Labradors Corgies and English Bull Terriers. I also love Kakapo (flightless parrots) and Jerboa (they are like kangaroo mice and are very cute. Saiga Antelope are also really cool and I like drawing them. Also frogs especially glass frogs which are see through so you can see their organs and teeny tiny. I want to spend all of my time on my sofa or in the shower. I feel mostly safe at work at the moment because my two best friends work with me but one is definitely giving in her notice to go to uni and the other has been offered a job elsewhere and I know it is selfish but I had a meltdown when she told me because I might get more shifts dumped on me and they haven't long started working there and I recommended them for the job so worried my Boss will be annoyed that I recommended someone that leaves very quickly and what if the new staff aren't very nice or make me anxious? I think I made my friend upset because she told me she had been offered a job and I said well done but then I said I was worried my Boss would procrastinate finding a replacement and he wouldn't give me too many shifts and then I deleted that because it was selfish and then she said "sorry if I upset you" I told her I had deleted it because it was selfish but she didn't disagree which means she probably thinks I was being selfish too. And I get worried that once I have done one bad thing to someone I have ruined everything.

I'm 27 and now started to think that I may be a bit autistic... I really hate when something that I have planned changes or when something doesn't go my way.
I have my own business and I have to do the dishes every morning before I start to work (if I don't the whole day is ruined😅) I have sometimes anger issues and I usually don't know why, something just click.. Every time my family ask why I got mad and I tell them that I don't know why, they just say that I shouldn't be angry then..and that makes me even more mad. I don't like to talk about my feelings, hugs is ok but just by my closest family members, eye contact is a big no no, I have usually nothing to talk about if I'm not interested in it myself... maby I should try to get an appointment at a psychiatrist (sry if my English isn't correct, I'm from Finland so it's not my first language)

I've been forced due to domestic abuse to move house 7 times since 2017.
Pure torture for anyone but for someone who can relate to asd (seeking diagnosis)
Also thanks to unemployment, again domestic abuse related I was then forced during covid to seek entry level jobs. Translation= shift work (combination of day shifts AND night shifts in a care home, different shift pattern every week and find out 3 days be4 what the shift pattern will be. AND then last minute shift changed and being called jn for overtime.
I lasted 3 months before I found another job with a routine then RAN!!!!

    BUT
I find your earrings and lip ring offensive that it took me ages finally to subscribe. You are a good looking chappie and if you are a role model to others please just be natural rather than unedifying. Mothers like myself would be eternally grateful.

Hi. Thank you so much for all your videoes and links posted. It has been very useful. I have a son that is being tested for autism but hasn't been diagnosed yet. We are now living in Norway and I have a dream to study in Denmark, but I feel very uncertain in regards of my son as he might have autism and if he would cope with moving for 3,5 years while I am studying. I don't want to be selfish but this would be like a dream come true for me. He is 8 years old. What would be your advice on this? Is this too much of a change for him? Thank you so much😊 kind regards, Lisa.

If you use the word "quit" is better than "change". Autistic people doesn't want to change place, I think that it's because they doesn't want to leave from their old place, they got an obsession, it's not because it's a new place.

Hello everyone. Refusing to change place, there are 2 cases:
    1. They worries if the new place isn't suitable for them.
    2. They has an obsession with that place, so they don't want to leave or change place.
