Then Doomguy doesn't prep his shotgun at the end of the cutscene cause that's how serious he is.

Technically Earth Humans are just a lost Night Sentinel colony so you could make the argument that he was always fighting alongside them.

Imagine just being a common solider of the Sentinel army and seeing the Doom slayer on the other side demolishing everything. The morale boost must be insane
The most intensely gratifying cutscene in gaming history. Sentinels are so badass and this is a redemption sub-plot which legit surprised me. Despite Valen having essentially destroyed Argenta civilization, they understand that it was done in a moment of great weakness and anyone might have done the same. They forgive him and join him for one last fight, even letting him lead it would seem. That is the sign of a great civilization
I loved seeing the Sentinel army but what really would've taken this scene much farther is if along side the Sentinels the remaining good UAC forces and the ARC forces showed up as well, essentially pitting the armies of 2 civilizations against Hell.
I hope they have that in the next game.
I wish the same but I think they were too busy with liberating the Earth they couldn't make a retalation attack into the Hell. At the same time Argenta wasn't under assault or siege and they had some troops ready as we can see
that would have been cool. intern guy could have been convincing the armies of humanity to help the doom slayer. Then, as the sentinal army arrives, more portals open up. As fleets of human ships come pouring out. Armored troops, mechs and more.

Even better, they're *winning!* And this is just an ad hoc host of Sentinels gathered together on short notice. Imagine what the legions that Doomguy tried to bring into Hell to destroy the Argent energy production centers could have accomplished if they hadn't been scattered and slaughtered.

@@SamuelTrademarked Actually, the whole point of leading the armies of Argent D’Nur down into Hell was to _stop_ it’s production entirely, and in doing so wean their people off of it’s temptation and corruption. That way, the Night Sentinels would not only be able to remove Hell as a threat, but expose the treachery of the Makyrs as well.

Bro this gave me endgame vibes, like when CAP was ready to fight the Thanos's army alone, and then everyone started coming from the back through portals and then everyone assemble and then charges.
Many people say this is just copying marvel, but I think the one that did the portal reinforcement cool scene first was StarCraft several years ago
@@N0noy1989 If anything, Avengers Endgame copied beat by beat the intro trailer for Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void, which predated it. Look it up. But frankly, I liked this for what it is. It's obviously epic, but it's also unapologetically macho and 80's.
This is obviously cooler with the fact that Hell still has an extremely high chance of losing but I agree.

The music makes all the difference. Also love how the downbeats are doom sound effects. I think it’s a combo of the machine gun firing once and a rocket sound effect. It’s genius.
I just reached this part of the game and figured that I’d go on as Doom slayer and whoop all of their asses until I saw the military come in to help lol. I was blown away by how epic that cutscene was.
This scene and the Gjallarhorn scene from God of War Ragnarök have single handedly given me the most chills out of any video game cinematics

Just non stop army of hell vs sentinels on the front lines as the doom slayer flies overhead. You'd have to be less powerful obviously, but you'd have multiple sentinels fighting alongside you.

fun fact: if you pull up spotify along with this and start the clip at 0:46, then play 'it's tough to be a god' by annapantsu and elsie lovelock, then the second chorus should sync up when it zooms in on the slayer at 2:24, it looks super fucking cool.

Wouldn't really be his thing. He doesn't lead by command, he leads by example. If he goes in, that is the signal itself. I understand what you mean, but honestly would be a tiny bit forced. He has shown no pride in what he does. Nor even acknowledging his position as a leader of such. He just exists and he fights. Likelyhood is he knows they will move wherever he points, but he prefers to do this job himself.

As cool as this is I'm a little confused. I thought the remaining Sentinels weren't loyal to the Doom Slayer. Why did they come to help him?
There were still Sentinels loyal to the Slayer, they were just scattered in small tribes throughout Argent D'Nur. This is explained in the first mission of the Ancient Gods Part 2.
Also the slayer is the last king of the Argenta and he lit the beacons of the world spear by sentinel law you dont ignore the kings call to arms
the shit happening in the backgroung is so incredible, you tottally forget what is going on with you....
This is how I imagined the final battle of Berserk would go down.
