Di do you need to take a drop for mext after 12 because the results are published in january next year isnt there any other way like joining a college and if i clear mext enroll directly into 2nd yr in japan for btech
Hi, You don't need to drop after 12th grade. The application requires your most recent grades i.e. grades in your first term of school examination probably. You can take a gap year, if you wish but you wouldn't be admitted directly to 2nd year of college. You would still have to complete 4 years of bachelors degree here. Hope this helps!

You can't transfer your degree unfortunately. So if you apply for bachelors, you will need to enrol as a new student and not from the second year. They will ask your 12th marks for bachelors.

@nandakishore383 Knowing Japanese is not compulsory for MEXT but make sure that you show them why you are interested in coming to Japan well. The quality of education is slightly different than India in the way that the focus here is mainly on your research instead of just theory classes.

Yes, you can still apply for MEXT while you're in school or college as it takes around 6-12 months for the whole process.
