Firstly, I’m obsessed with aunt Caroline. They don’t make British women like that anymore. Eccentrically warm and natural funny with a dry sense of humour. Obviously the public part of the house you want/need to keep historic and antique but as your a young couple what is the style our going for in the private side of the manor? Love a show about that. Also you need to do an evening ghost hunt 😄

I am a construction cost estimator in "The States" and am a GCN subscriber and paying member - whatever the current monthly paying membership situation calls itself - I LOVE GCN!!!.. Totally loving the parallel universe of James/"Jimmy"/Hank's & Emma's roll-out of the Manor while simultaneously feeling the stress of it in my gut. I have also performed the "heavy lifting" in sorting/down-sizing several family households/properties while making sure the heirlooms remain safe and in the family. The task of sorting and maintaining the Manor is huge. Wishing you the best of luck. Dealing with the mold and leaks is of high priority and you are clearly of the same mind. You will nail it! Keep all family involved as you sort through contents, but the sooner you get through the clutter and damaged items, the better. Good luck!

Not many buildings have a history that started before the Tudors and then was added to under different generations. Hi, as I’m sure you are aware your in a unique position having the house with so much history to learn about it. But also now the world of RUclips exists.
Have you considered doing cross overs with other channels. For example I’m sure there must be model railway channels that could tell you about what you have in the attic.
I’m sure there must be many RUclips channels that could help such as other ones like antique furniture to history researcher all who would love to work with you.
In addition could you move the railway magazines to the attic and create a library.
The more RUclips channels you work with about the house/objects/land and animals the more subscribers you will get
Look forward to finding out so much more. Cheers

Agree with DebraEve, but you have a huge task ahead! I hope you have or will sit down with a very good architect/ designer/decorator to plan how to give the fabulous old rooms (for visitors) a bit of refreshing, dusting, waxing and painting. Then decide what has to be changed (like the 1960 bedcover under the splendid "Verdure tapisserie"....or the color scheme of each room. It does not need a lot of money to wake it up, only elbow grease. As for your private appartements, may be you could paint the splendid but very dark paneling ...,
That was said with sympathy for you, admiring your courage, good humour and charming videos. -and bravo for your coffeeshop it's perfect.... unlike my English.

The train magazines might be nice for collage at a retirement home, too. Or just as is, for nostalgia. Also some could go to kiddie art classes for collage. Or there might be a local train museum that would take them for their members or guests?
