It is good to see someone with high work experience share their story. Everyone talks about percentile and B-school conversions, but nobody talks about the thing that matters the most in MBA which is good SIP and final placements. Its delightful to see someone share that side of story as well.
We agree that there aren't many stories of people with high work experience out there, that is why we are trying to share as many diverse stories as possible!
Its good to see that it is possible to get into a top B-school and secure a good job even with bad academic record for a GEM. Workex really helps a lot for this to happen in my opinion.
Absolutely loved the way you’ve kickstarted this channel! The conversational style feels so natural and relatable-like sitting down with a mentor over coffee. Perfect for CAT/XAT aspirants who need that real-world insight. Can’t wait to see this channel grow into a go-to hub for students. Keep inspiring!✨
Very good. Very firm person , with an intelligent brain and feet firmly grounded. One of the best parts of the discussion was to be with yourself. If you feel that any situation is not suitable or enjoyable, avoid it.
The moment I finished the video, I ended up making a series of right decisions. The first, subscribing the channel. Second, taping the bell icon. Thanks for the clarity.
Thank you for sharing your experience as an engineer who overcame academic challenges; your story is truly inspiring. I also found your advice regarding the Decision Making section particularly insightful; I agree it is critical to success on the XAT exam.
Insightful and practical tips, Kumar Utkarsh! Your strategies for cracking Decision Making in XAT are spot on. Loved how you emphasized the importance of real-world experience and applying practical logic to decision-making scenarios This video is a goldmine for XAT aspirants aiming for top scores. Kudos for sharing your journey and wisdom! 🙌
Parents often say their child knows everything, yet struggles to score well in exams due to a lack of proper paper-solving techniques. This video reveals the right approach to tackle and excel in competitive exams-an insightful resource for both students and parents alike.
Not getting calls from IIM mumbai and iit bombay even with 4 years of work experience in operations is surprising. Good to see him convert his dream role of product management though.
Good video! I have a quick question - what is the difference between BM and HR courses in XLRI? which is better in terms of placement? and which one is easier to convert?
PGD-BM course in XLRI is more broad where you can choose your specialisation in the second year (Finance/ Marketing/ Operations/ Strategy) whereas in PGDM-HRM your specialisation is already decided from the day of admission. XLRI's HRM (Human Resource management) is considered to be by far the best HR course in the country. XLRI releases a combined placement report for both BM and HRM and the median package last year was 27.24 Lakhs. The BM course is available in both Jamshedpur and Delhi-NCR campus whereas HR is only in the Jamshedpur campus. It is usually observed that HR is a little easier to convert (in terms of admission), however the HR students get placement much faster as compared to the BM students. All of these trends may change over time depending upon the demand and supply of students preferring to pursue their MBA in the HR domain and how many HR jobs are available in the market. Nonetheless be rest assured if you choose to do HR form XLRI that PGDM-HRM course is the best this country has to offer!

For GEM candidates with low acads, it does get really tough to get calls from top B-Schools even at high percentiles
valuable info
Very helpful
