Denis, I really apreciate your channel. My son is an 8 years old piano player and is doing very well. We always watch your videos. Thank you very much. Greetings from Brazil!
I love how you start the video intro with the really tricky presto which swaps the direction of rotation almost every bar! Also "yes...I am cheating" 🙂
Muchas gracias. Me gusta mucho este canal te explicas muy bien y es una delicia escucharte tocar el piano. ¿Conoces Albéniz? ¿Has tocado alguna pieza suya? Yo adoro su obra Triana de la Suit Iberia. Sería fantástico escucharte tocarla algún día. Un saludo de una seguidora española.
I have played only Godowsky’s transcription of Triana. Once many years ago I even had a funny story on Iturbi competition in Valencia, where I have played this transcription instead of the original Albeniz piece, and got disqualified for this lol 😂. However the public loved this🥹
Denis, I've never played a fugue (or any piece by Bach) before. Would the Fugue from 847 be a bit too challenging for me? Is it better to learn an invention and sinfonia beforehand? My general level is somewhere in the ABRSM 5 level (I've learned Mozart K. 397, Rondo Alla Turca from K. 331, working on the Durande Valse in E-flat major, at the moment). I'm currently working through your Czerny Op. 299 course. I just love Bach so much and would like to play him more. I think practically no this piece my heart (aurally).
I play it currently on similar tempo as you. My teacher says that it should be played just from a fingers, without rotation you mentioned but with clear articulation of every note and stable wrist instead. This is almost opposite of what you said.
Yeah there are as many ways to teach piano as there are teachers. In case you’d feel any soreness or pain in the hands you might want to revisit this video, but I hope this won’t be the case.
0:15 Ah, yes, Bach famously made excellent "products", with fresh, quality ingredients, and good value for the money! … Sorry, jokes aside, thanks for those tips!
This short video is dedicated to a few technical issues and a very basic stage of mastering the piece. Dynamics and phrasing nuances are discussed in the full 90 minute course, and they are highly sophisticated and precise in my interpretation😉
@@DenZhdanovPianist I love your videos and learn a lot I like you piano playing but all the techniques in the world doesn’t matter if I am bored because it sounds like you’re pressing random buttons not of playing music
So you’re seriously going to judge my sound palette not by my another recent video where I actually perform the piece, but by an instructional video where I explain the most basic stage of motions coordination. Okay.🤦♂️

Thanks for commenting! Keep up!🇧🇷💙💛
This is truly a great channel for advanced pianist to remember professional piano technique. Bravo!
You are an amazing teacher. Really glad I found your channel ❤❤

Thanks! I am going to perform this piece soon, and i really struggled with the left hand in the presto section
Thanks, motions I hadn’t been thinking about but make perfect sense.
I bought your course for this, I love it... Please make Schubert Impromptu Op. 90 No. 2.
Thanks Denis, i got the full course, another masterclass. 👏👏👏
Fantastic! Enjoy!

Excellent video :D
the presto section remains very hard to play in tempo with accuracy and evenness
and yes across bars 32-33 is so tricky
It’s also important to consider that slow tempi were traditionally faster, and fast tempi were slower during Baroque times😉
@@DenZhdanovPianist indeed!
@@DenZhdanovPianist I'm curious how you know the tempi were like that. How is that known?
@@jwallah346 That's what historical performing traditions experts claim, unless there is a world-wide conspiracy😅

This fugue is among not difficult ones, but if you are unsure of course it’s a good idea to start from inventions or sinfonias.

You always need rotation.
Never forget WTC 7

I think you need to work on dynamics it would make it sound less random

Oh this explains a lot…
You know I take my words back, you’re absolutely right, sir😉
Too fast.
Not really.
Now what?
Can you actually play this piece instead of talking?
Yes I can.

It’s not ‘talking’, it’s called teaching.
