Thanks for sharing. Looked a bit like the train we took in Alaska from Denali to the Cruise ship but with a lot more snow (we did it in June) and seemed a whole lot quicker (day long trip). Amazing video in beautiful country!

    Thanks Joe,
    For your video production.
Did you use the Colorchecker Passport video to assist you to colour grade your video?
May I humbly recommend a camera with video (e.g. The Sony A7R iv), and the utility of the Weebill S stabiliser, to improve your video quality from the phone sort,
    Regards Newell

      Hi Newell,
As the guy who did most of the instructional videos for the ColorChecker Passport since its introduction, I am well versed in its uses for both stills and video - but I thank you for the link!
Concerning the gear you mention, I already have all of the equivalent equipment along with several gimbal systems, but I might suggest you have missed the point of this particular video. This was all about simplicity that anyone can use - an iPhone, a case and an anamorphic lens.
It all fits in my jacket pocket, produces really good video without any editing and while I do use Filmic Pro to shoot the video and control the exposure and aperture, it is basically point and shoot. No color grading, just some simple cuts and a soundtrack I downloaded from my account at Audioblocks.com.
Were I shooting a more formal video or something for a movie, all the gear you mention would be great - including using a ColorChecker for color grading, but this was all about simple and shooting video that anyone can do. I had half a dozen people on the train ask about the gear, and after they saw the video, they all wanted to do it too! So fun for all, without much time spent in post.
When I have some spare time, I am supposed to record some how-to videos on using the ColorChecker with Premiere Pro, but until that happens, I am content to just have a lot of fun with the new phone!
I appreciate your message and hope to share some videos with you that do have higher productions levels and more sophisticated capture style, but for now, I'm going to have some easy fun with the rig and lens.
      Best regards,
      Joe

Since I made this an informal travel video, all I wanted was to use the iPhone. I do have a DJI Gimbal for the phone, but minimizing equipment was my goal. As you can imagine, I have a bunch of cameras that can shoot pro-level video, but this simply wasn't that kind of shoot!
