Kansas is not your typical rock band. Every song takes a journey and the composition and performance are just excellent. Love watching you two react. I was a teenager when I had those reactions.

Reacting to one of my ALL-TIME favorite bands, eh you two? All I'm gonna say is, DON"T FORGET ICARUS (BORNE ON WINGS OF STEEL), ALL THE WORLD, AND MYSTERIES & MAYHEM/THE PINNACLE OFF THEIR MASQUE ALBUM!!! You're not done with Kansas yet, not even close. Oh, and this song is one that still resonates deep in my soul and always will...

This is one of those rare albums that leaves the listener exhausted. Kansas had a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the business and that clearly comes out in their music. Kerry's compositions were challenging to play and all that rehearsing led to them all becoming virtuoso musicians who were as tight on stage as they were in the studio. There is a live TV performance of this song on RUclips if you would like to see the band in action.

Kansas band has always been influenced by Native Americans and you can hear their love for the land, America and the heartland in their music. Phil Ehart is likely the single most under-rated drummer in Rock- n-Roll history! and yes, this is the first album....

Hello, so ... David Allen Graul here, again ... very glad you are here w/DOMNS ... when you listen to APERCU & this together ??? Oh my ! I'm also the one who suggested that you read Kerry Livgren's book, SEEDS OF CHANGE ... you mentioned their music being a journey ... he takes you through that journey ... it will make you cry ! 🙋‍♂️ Their music ??? 🤯🙆🏻‍♂️

I love these lyrics, and unfortunately they are even more relevant today. My homeland Sweden is 75 % forest, and I live in the northern part where just 12 % of the country populate 60 % of the space. A vast amount of nature per capita, just the way I like it!

Did you know that Kansas was opening for aerosmith And heard steven Tyler liked to pull the plugs on the speakers when he thought the opening band was to good. Kansas set up some phony speaker plugs. So halfway through the Kansas set , the crowd was going wild , well Steven would have none of that and started pulling plugs running back and forth trying to kill the sound while Kansas was laughing there butts off.

This song perfectly captures the uniqueness of Kansas.... classic prog rock blended with driving American rock and roll.

They changed the final line in the live versions to... "and now we're gonna die", and that's even more grim and apocalyptic.

I'm glad you have become big Kansas fans.. they are my favorite band since the seventies.. It is amazing that a band this good is still not in the rock and roll Hall of fame.. It's great to hear songs that I haven't heard in a long time.. Another really underrated group you should listen to is.Uriah Heep. Maybe start with the song tails.
