Buddy! I just bought an 87 with 1.6L 16v engine from a geo in it. It needed far too much love for what I paid... my mistake. But! An 85 tin top like yours just popped up for $1600. He says it'll start but won't drive. I want to go buy the thing and fix the carb, throw an electric fuel pump in it and run a hose to a Jerry can and limp her home. Any advice? Wish me luck! Ps. Everything you said about being a bomb prrloof vehicle and less electonic gizzmos the better, agreed!
The carbs on these are qwerky. I put a carb off of a '74 Toyota on mine. I don' have tin top. That's a factory fiberglass hard top. That top was hard to find.
