  • In this video I fish the Mitta Mitta River below Lake Dartmouth and above the Mitta township. Later in the video I fish the Snowy Creek above Mitta township on the Omeo Highway. This video doesn't have a lot of "catching action" but it will give the viewer an idea of the beautiful water on offer in these pristine streams.

Thanks mate, I've got 8 days work at Mitta between now and mid December, so I think I'll be having a few more trips up there.

Great video, beautiful looking streams and it’s always worth having a flick regardless of how heavily fished the water is 👍

Absolutely right, mate. It's amazing how many fish can be found in heavily fished areas.

Worked on the dam stayed in Mitta caravan Park and fished down stream from the park catching many browns , saw but did not catch the big ones . The boys caught many in the pools below the wall when the water was shut off and there was a lot of around 1 to 2 kg ..

Last time I fished the Mitta I couldn't keep 2 rods in the water the Carp were that bad and only managed to get 2 very skinny Trout for the weekend

Yes, the carp numbers are significant. Fishing with worms is just about out of the question now.
