The t20 was not as popular in that time as today. And in IPL 2024 flat wickets have been made and it's very easy for batters to get runs easily. Also the impact sub rule also has helped the teams a lot.
I know the record is broken 4 times this season and it will be broken many times in the future but you can't forget Gayle's 175(66) not out inning

Only kkr vs gt cuz the others weren't that great. Srh v mi and pbks vs kkr is no where close to the best matches in ipl. And gt v csk also only looked interesting because csk has the most fans. If it wasn't rain interrupted csk might have lost the match

MI v RR 2014 match is easily the best match in IPL history. No other team could handle that pressure to up their NRR and that emotional roller coaster of the last ball when NRR was calculated till the 3rd decimal and Tare hit that six is the most GOATed moment in IPL History

@@razaamir9870 their bowling was bad this season , and on top of that completely flat wickets and small boundaries in all of those three matches especially in kotla where it's smaller side is 55 m and the longer side is 68 m what a joke this season has been for the bowlers, but yes the 166 target chase by srh is their best batting performance and intent shown in batting best this season

Half of these matches were mid, could have included 2009, 2013, 2016, 2023 finals as well instead of some one sided matches
Yeah, half the matches had no stakes attached to it as well. I get that the first ever IPL match is very important but it was extremely one sided and had no qualification stakes like we've seen with other great matches.
The close finals should make list such as Kkr vs Kxip( I like this name more). Srh vs Rcb and Mi vs Csk(2019) and Mi vs Rpsg.

But after a while, when it started to have a negative impact on International circuit (particularly Test cricket), I guess it was the most terrible thing that happened to the sport, which was once being perceived as the "Gentleman's Game"!
The better part of IPL is that it has managed to open the doors for aspiring cricketers to create an impact, and leave a mark on selectors for their future to make big in the sport!
