Thanks Randy for this video post...!! Yellowstone River conservation is one story that I had never heard about and also realize how important it is to keep telling about the constant battles for protecting the environment for hunting and fishing.

Dear Randy thank you for bringing this forward,I personally fished the yellow stone as a boy have longed to fish it again now that I’m an older man and can more appreciate it for what it is and not just another rock in the river that might hold another fish to catch ,thank you again

Great work. I've never been there, and I don't fish, but conservation of these rivers is important to everyone. If only more of these landscapes could have been saved during that insane dam building era.

That was truly amazing to see/learn about. This is a perfect example why people love your channel and is the standard other "Hunting" channels wish they could achieve. We all owe land stewards like Jim and yourself a great deal of gratitude for the work you have done. Thanks for sharing this important piece of history.

Love the conservation stories you guys put together. I hate to read, so thank you for all the hard work you put into research and putting it out on RUclips for me to understand. The University of Montana should award you guys with honorary doctorate degrees for all you do in the conservation field.

My children 21 years down to 6 and three in between are Montana born and raised. This Allenspur was in the works before even me or their Mom were born. We raft the Yellowstone, driving from Helena to our favorite spots outside Gardiner, and I seen more of Montana than most lifetime residents and I did not know this story. Our family thanks you Jim, you protected many of us from Paradise lost long before we existed just like Theodore Roosevelt and the other conservation greats of American lineage. You’re one of the greatest Americans. God Bless You.

I love seeing films like this. A few years ago I drove to Livingston to see a friend of mine that lives there. Michael “Louie” Lewis is the owner of Badlands Blacksmith there in town. He took me fishing down the Yellowstone River. The beauty and serenity of that place proved to me that we need as many of those wild places as possible to remain wild. I wish I could be there all the time. Thanks for this film!

Conservation is a good idea and has it's place but what are the other options for energy if there are no dams? Solar and wind provide only a small amount, coal is out and nobody wants nuclear or fossil fuel power plants. Seems like dams are the most green. No air pollution, no nuclear waste, reliable, safe... Just wondering
