😊 nice-looking Rupp. They were fast sleds and surprisingly reliable and consistent running too. Outside temperature conditions never affected the way they ran much which was quite unusual for a high performance sled of that era. i restored one in 2005 and rode it for several years in vintage derbies. I sold it to the Supertrax sled museum in Yorkton, SK about 6 yrs ago and now regret doing so. It does look beautiful sitting on a shelf on display. But i know that deep inside, that Xenoah 440 mill yearns to be fired up and ridden.
I hand (2) brand new ones. 1972 Rupp Roug 295/ 25 H. P. and a brand New 1974 Nitro II 440/ 55 H.P. Loved Them Both they never broke down back like the old yellow dogs did. I raced many sleds free air you name it. The Nitro 440 was fast. My son later in life bought a good used 1975 Nitro II/ 44O that one to was bad ass/fast.
I remember a girlfriend back when I was in my teens, her Dad had a couple of Rupp machines, one was the Nitro. I wanted one of those so bad back then... Couldn't afford it at the time of course Now in my later years I've ordered my first new sled due this September. BC XRS 850 154" x 2"
@@RyanBenbow I don’t remember a 650 American. Was it considered a Nitro or a Magnum? My 634 Puma had a Hirth in it also. I drag raced from 1976 to 81. I tell you what ( those were the days).
@@RyanBenbow lol 😂 wow. I bet you do. I had a 25 Hp JLO in my mini cycle (it’s a cross between a motorcycle and a minibike) that thing could go 80 mph in 1 second. I’m serious it was so quick. Great talking to someone who has been there too. ✋
Wow! Hearing that brought back memories of my Dad's Rupp snowmobiles in the 70s! Nice resto, beautiful sled!
Owned a '73 Rupp Magnum.. mint condition. Took it to shows. Super fast sled. Had temp guages for both cylinders..free air.
Had a Rupp Nitro 440 for a number of years. Fast and good handling sled for it's day.
