Happen to come across this video and I like this presentation. The earlier Rupps were the TT series from the mid 60"s. I use to have 13 of the 70's series Rupps, Enduros, Black Widows, and Roadster II. That was 35 years ago when I went on a Rupp bike and parts buying spree. I was Never able to get one when I was a Kid. Wife thought I was nuts. As of Right now I kept the two best original and restored them a Red Roadster II and a Black Widow. 30 years ago The wife and I rode all over the place. Town and state cops never bothered us. The Rupp trails tires have seen better days though. These were great fun. My daughter too use to ride them around the place. Seeing these videos is telling me to get them out of the cellar and refresh them with new tires and general maintenance so she and the wife can have fun riding them around the neighborhood again ...
I am 56 my folks took us on a trip to see some friends a few hours away, when we got there their neighbors had two roadsters for sale in the yard, a red one and a purple one. My mom saw them and asked how much? $200 take your pick, my boys rode them last year and they need bigger bikes.....I chose the red one and rode that bike all over the countryside for about 3 years and then upgraded too! First bike I ever had, loved it!
Those bikes are one of a kind. My fathers first ever motorcycle was a rupp 50cc, not sure what model but that was back in 64 or 65 cause he was born in 61
I tried to call Rick Hanson about the motor mounting wedge and air cleaner bracket for the Honda 5.0 hp motor. That number is not working any longer. Do you have a link to his website? Or any info on him. Just a a roller rupp and would love to slap the Honda motor in it. The wedge makes it sit level in the frame. Thanks 👍
I had so much fun on the roadster as a kid. Till some goddamn thieves took it. Can you believe the Honda monkey bike and the atc110 were also stolen cool vids buddy.

Super nice 👍 I wanted want of those baby’s when I was 10 in 76’. I had a Bonanza 1500 with a Hodaka 100 motor, it would move. Nice bikes, thanks.
My first bike was a brand new trail roadster 2, red with black seat, I was six years old, 1970. I wish I still had it.
I'll be there Saturday morning, might have to buy a Rupp. It was my first bike in 1977, a scrambler. Thanks Ken.
I had a Scrambler too. Great memories!
Me too 1970

Rupp didn’t make a 50 cc Honda did. The Rupps were on average 3 1/2 horse and the bigger bikes 4 horse Tecumseh.
Roadster2 Enduro Black Widow
A lot of cool stuff at Mid-Ohio, been going since 1998!!
I owned a street legal black widdow as a kid in 1976..was super cool
Mr Kaplan, I would see them for sale in the R&S Strauss stores
I would love to have a rupp roadster but finding one for sale here in Bucksport Maine would be impossible
My cousins had one first motorcycle I ever rode

The monkey & super cub are back. Vintage models everywhere. Seems to be a market the old stuff
Mine didn't have shocks
