I have taken French courses with tutors and in schools all over France and in CA. No one has ever explained faire faire as clearly as you have. Thank you Dylan!
Thank you so much John ☺️
Merci- je viens d’apprendre ce sujet hier et J’ai dû venir ici pour verifier. Merci.
De rien :)
Merci! Quelle belle lecon. I've been wondering about this syntax. Also, you're a great comedian.. I burst out laughing when you explained having wisdom teeth taken out. My wife did too.
You are never going to forget about the use of se faire with wisdom teeth now :D I am glad I made the lesson enjoyable for you guys ☺️
C'est une leçon basique et très essentielle. Merci beaucoup Dylane!
Pas de quoi :)
A fun lesson with humorous asides and easy to follow. Oh, and the colors, backgrounds and graphics are great!
Merci beaucoup Peter :D
Merci Dylane! C'est très simple avec tes explications et ça me fait du bien!
Merci à toi :)
Thank you Dylane! This makes so much sense, sucks it's not taught at school. But now I understand the expression se faire virer!
I am so happy it helped you 🤩 You are not the first one telling me that they didn't learn it at school. Such a shame because we use it so much! Se faire virer is the perfect example yes :D
This is very helpful thank you Dylane! I love your beautiful humour too!
Merci Andrea
Dear my sister Dylan thank you so much 💕💕💕💕💕 awesome 👍 amazing job and perfect ❤️❤️❤️❤️ God 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 bless you 💗💗💗
Merci D
Well explained another unknown area of French. Thank you so much
You are welcome!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Ernest 😍
Merci beaucoup Dylane!
Merci à toi :)
Merci madame 🌹🌹
De rien :)
In English we never say “we are doing the groceries”. We would say “we’re buying groceries” or simply, “we’re shopping for food.” LOVE YOUR VIDEOS ❤
True :)
We also say we're getting groceries or going grocery shopping.
merci... très bien travail... super...
Merci :D
I love your videos. I have three of your books, and they have really helped me to advance in French. I have struggled with pronunciation in particular. I am fluent in Spanish and Italian. They definitely helped with grammar, but French nasal vowels are a challenge. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much John for your comment :D I have to say that nasal vowels take a lot of practice :/ Don't give up!
Wow!!!! MERCI!!!!
De rien :)
Merci beaucoup
Such a useful lesson 🌹
Merci à toi :)
Merci beaucoup Dylane . J’ai trouvé cet sujet un peu difficile au début mais tu est vraiment magnifique prof alors tout est claire maintenant. Merci encore ! Je vais faire des notes grâce à ton PDF . Bonne soirée 😻
Merci beaucoup Ewa 🤩

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane ok dear teacher.. thanks a lot
Merci beaucoup Dylane 🙂 tu nous expliques très bien 🤩
Merci Bobby 🤩
Merci beaucoup pour cette video, c’est très clair. Je me suis fait faire un brushing aujourd’hui. Vous travaillez très fort☘️
Monica, quelle chance 🤩
This lesson is so clear and understandable. It helps me that I am fluent in Spanish and, in many, many ways, French and Spanish are quite alike. Gracias por todo lo que haces!
Frank is it the same in Spanish with the verb Faire?
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Yes, for the most part. 'Faire faire' or 'se faire faire' are not exactly the same but very close. Close enough that the concept is quite familiar. I love your instruction!
I shall watch this lesson ten times...oui, dixieme fois!!!!
Merci
Super like 👍 ❤️
Merci 🤩
Merci Dylane! I really like the new colors of the video. 👍
So thoughtful, love it too
Merci beaucoup Kesia 🤩
Just watched this video over again for like the 5th time since you published it a year ago and I am happy to say that after rewatching the video several times, the reflexive causative form finally clicked for me. I easily grasped faire and faire faire when you initially made this video but it took me until today to be able to say I can confidently understand and utilize se faire and se faire faire. Je te remercie ❤
This is such a complicated/confusing subject. I am so glad you found my video helpful Leland 🤩
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane 💙
Wonderful
Thank you :)
Merci beaucoup, Dylane. À l'âge de soixante-treize ans, ce vieux gallois grincheux apprend votre belle langue - oui, la lutte continue ! - et tout ce que vous avez expliqué dans cette vidéo m'a beaucoup aidé, notamment avec l'utilisation de "se faire". Excellent !
Ravie que cela t'ait aidé, et merci pour ton commentaire :)
This video helped a lot! Although i feel it might be one of the harder concepts to remember when to use. 😂
I do agree with this 😅
you have made me revise the causative in E too.thanks😅♥️
My pleasure 🤩
Great
Thanks :)
in the end at 11:53 when u said " does make sense ......... i hope ! " i laughed very hard. BTW you make awesome french learning videos. Really a big thanx to you from me and the french learning community. & 💛luv from INDIA
Thank you so much 😍
Bonita clase
Thank you :D
Votre vidéo sont très utiles comme toujours.. mais j'avais une demande s'il vous plaît télécharger une vidéo concernant delf B1... Merci beaucoup..
Je ferai peut-être une série sur le DELF mais probablement pas tout de suite :/
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Thanks for your reply your are à good mentor... So only I am asking you to upload videos regarding delf B1.. It will useful for many Indian people who are preparing delf B1/B2 because your classes will definitely help us to clear delf exam.. It's kinda request from your subscribers.. Merci beaucoup...
Another superb lesson, thank you Dylane! p.s as a side note, I'm having my hair dyed ... not died! ;)
Oups :D
Salut Dylane, très cool leçon ! Est-ce que "Il fait un tatouage" a du sens ? Merci !
Mauro, il fait un tatouage veut dire que la personne tatoue quelqu'un d'autre - Le tatoueur fait un tatouage en ce moment. J'espère que cela t'aide :D
Great job as always, small typo @ 1:08 "He is" not "He si" but more importantly I always struggle with faire faire .vs. se faire faire - so just modifying your example a little, what is the difference between Ils se sont fait faire un gateau (someone else made a cake specifically for us) .vs. Ils ont fait faire un gateau (they had a cake made by someone else but not necessarily for us) ?
Thank you Stewart :) That's correct, with your examples, the second one is more vague, it could be for them, but it could also be for someone else :)
hello Dylan! May I ask you a question? I've noticed that in some sentences, you used "être" before the conjugated "faire", but in some, it wasn't used. I'm a bit confused. Could you explain to me?
That's because reflexive verbs are always conjugated with être :)
se faire does mean also doing a thing for myself if it follows by a noun? for example "je me fais un café " so I make it myself not having someone else to do it for me ?
correct :)
for the sentence >, does it make sense to alternatively write it as to refer our car have been repaired by someone?
No, because if you say that, that means that you are the one getting fixed 🤖😀
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane even I have mentioned "my car"?
Are these words the only ones "causative form"in France? Thank you madame
Yes this is the causative. But not only in France, in all the countries where French is spoken ;)
Very nice, thank you Dylane! BTW. Please be aware that "I am getting my hair dyed" is the correct spelling of ... to dye one's hair. 🙂
OMG did I write died?? Thank you Dan :D
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane No worries! You'd laugh if you saw some of my French constructs! 🙂 You are wonderful. Keep up your charming efforts!
Great video❤🎉I still have one question though: what if the infinitive following faire (not se faire) is a reflexive verb? Where do I put the reflexive pronoun? Is it between the verb faire and the infinitive? For example, if I want to say « I make my children wash their hands », should I say “je fais se laver les main à mes enfants”? What if I want to say “I make them wash their hands?” Should I say « je leur fais se laver les mains »?
In this case this is not a reflexive verb. The sentence would be "Je fais laver les mains à mes enfants" but we never really say that in French. We would say: Je leur dit de se laver les mains. I am not sure if that helps 😅
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I see. Thank you so much ❤️
Merci.
Se faire entendre = To make yourself heard. It's the passive version :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Merci Bien Dylane.
SO ,,, faire + infintive is the same as se faire + infintive !!
ie , what's the diff between
je fais couper la barbre
je me fais couper la barbre
Je fais couper la barbe doesn't make sense in French, you have to add someone after. Je fais couper la barbe de mon père ;)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane sorry for being annoying. but I am a little bit confused, since both sentences are referring to the meaning" I have the beard cut (by someone), why it doesn't make sense to write it as ?
@user-ub9om7ov9m whose beard. "the beard" doesn't make sense in english either.
👏👏👏👏👏👍
🙌
🖒🖒🖒🖒
Ahah ça m'a fait rire Paul 😂
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane 🤣🤣🤣
❤❤❤❤👍🏃🙏🙏🙏🙏
❤️
"dye" means "colour". "die" means "stop living".
Otherwise, thanks for the video.
Thank you :)
This is French / American English not British English. And it's 'dyed' not 'died' !
I do teach in North America :)
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane no wonder!
i really like it ❤️🫵
