  • Relocating to Los Angeles from New York City, vigilante Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) wants to start a safer life for himself and his adult daughter, Carol (Robin Sherwood), who was raped years earlier and still suffers psychologically from the attack. But trouble finds Kersey. His house cleaner, Rosario (Silvana Gallardo), and Carol are both gang raped in Kersey's home by a gang of thugs, and Rosario dies. Kersey hits the streets hunting down the criminals, refusing to stop until L.A. is safe.

@@FlixTalk I was in my teens when it was on cable, and I guess I was just attracted to the raw brutality of it. The ferocity of their crimes was met with Bronson's unyielding and merciless justice. I saw this one before part one, and was always a little let down that he never got his revenge against Goldblum and his cohorts. By the way, if you haven't seen the 2018 remake with Bruce Willis, it's worth a look.

You gotta remember something Flixy...and this is true for younger people that don't know...the 70's and 80's were rough. Crime was off the charts in the big cities. Serial killers DID operate out of old flop houses like that one. You had actual riots, standoff's and gang wars, and in Chicago, LA, NYC, and Miami...there were places that cops wouldn't go. They couldn't go, really. There were serious hardcore crimes & sprees that will never be uncovered, because nobody really knew. Movies like these were in response to that.

I realized that when he's with loved ones in movies, he expresses a little more emotions, but when he dishes out street justice, he's a stone cold killer. His persona is definitely a throwback to when men didn't show emotions or vulnerability.
