Cause I swear, back when I was a kid, shows like That's So Raven, Even Stevens, and Lizzie McGuire were still aimed towards kids, but they were more rooted in "reality". They felt like they could've aired on a channel other than Disney. But nowadays, the new Disney shows are super cringey and super identifiable as "Disney" kid shows.

Pretty much anything is a Disney Show; it's just under another companies name which they own.

Something else to think about, kids have relatively short attention spans. And they’re even shorter today because of social media and all that jazz. We live in the streaming era where most shows are binge watched and kids don’t really care too much to see Disney stars for four plus years on tv and see a select group end up with singing careers.
I don’t even think it’s an issue of maturity. While it’s not quite the same medium, there have been a lot more shows lately where the audience are kids but the writing and plot are deep enough to engage teenagers and adults. I think its more that most of Disney’s music and shows are written pretty weakly and wouldn’t be excused if they were for a different audience. If more effort was put in, I think Disney music could reach people without being mature.
I am currently 23 years old and I was a Disney channel kid the late 90's early 2000 disney was lit but by time I stared high school around 14 15 years old I lost interest but I did come for descendants which was cute but after that I was over it,yeah nowadays disney Is trash period and I love high school musical but they ain't got nothing on the cheetah girls which was the best era of disney period,I said what I said

From an actors point of view, the reason Disney doesn’t create superstars anymore is because these people all got their parts in movies/shows through open auditions so they were coming from poorer backgrounds and they were raw and wanted to shine so it was easier for them, they were normal natural teenagers that didn’t spend years in acting classes or got roles through family and they knew how to be teenagers which is what is lacking with the ones who become actors through these millionaire agencies. Once all of the Hannah Barbera cartoons changed into Boomerang and were removed completely, then I stopped watching. All of those teeny boppers came from Disney. Selena Gomez, Miley, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, etc. You used to know of good shows, but now the face card is about teenage bopper kids going through puberty.
My favourite shows were That's so Raven (I saw every episode) and Hannah Montana (stopped watching when Miley moved back to Tennessee and Mitchel Musso quit the show) I became Hannah Montana's biggest fan, I knew every song, had tons of memorabilia and went to see the HM movie at the cinema on a school day I also knew all the High School Musical songs and thought the Cheetah girls 1 was terrible. It was too flat, too cheesy and wasn't really visually impressive. The second one though was way better, the songs were better, the dancing was better and when it finished I said "Wow, that was fantastic!"
At least the cheetah girls were diverse. Damn, they doing everything wrong nowadays... Teenage shows aren’t realistic on Disney. No wonder only kids watch the channel now.

Something else to think about, kids have relatively short attention spans. And they’re even shorter today because of social media and all that jazz. We live in the streaming era where most shows are binge watched and kids don’t really care too much to see Disney stars for four plus years on tv and see a select group end up with singing careers.

I don’t even think it’s an issue of maturity. While it’s not quite the same medium, there have been a lot more shows lately where the audience are kids but the writing and plot are deep enough to engage teenagers and adults. I think its more that most of Disney’s music and shows are written pretty weakly and wouldn’t be excused if they were for a different audience. If more effort was put in, I think Disney music could reach people without being mature.

I am currently 23 years old and I was a Disney channel kid the late 90's early 2000 disney was lit but by time I stared high school around 14 15 years old I lost interest but I did come for descendants which was cute but after that I was over it,yeah nowadays disney Is trash period and I love high school musical but they ain't got nothing on the cheetah girls which was the best era of disney period,I said what I said
Facts. I still listen to Cheetah girls. They had major bops like, Cheetah Amigas, step up, strut, Cinderella, the party just begun, Cheetah girls, Cheetah sistas. Just to name a few.

From an actors point of view, the reason Disney doesn’t create superstars anymore is because these people all got their parts in movies/shows through open auditions so they were coming from poorer backgrounds and they were raw and wanted to shine so it was easier for them, they were normal natural teenagers that didn’t spend years in acting classes or got roles through family and they knew how to be teenagers which is what is lacking with the ones who become actors through these millionaire agencies. The reason is because Disney doesn’t make good shows anymore so the majority of teens/kids aren’t watching that shit now. When I was a kid (when Disney was actually good) everybody used to watch Disney shows in my house, my parents, siblings and I. Nowadays not even my little cousins watching that shit lmao. It was easier to become popular when everybody was watching Disney because the more people who liked a certain character from the show, the more hype that person would get and would ultimately become a star.

Once all of the Hannah Barbera cartoons changed into Boomerang and were removed completely, then I stopped watching. All of those teeny boppers came from Disney. Selena Gomez, Miley, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, etc. You used to know of good shows, but now the face card is about teenage bopper kids going through puberty.
My favourite shows were That's so Raven (I saw every episode) and Hannah Montana (stopped watching when Miley moved back to Tennessee and Mitchel Musso quit the show)
I became Hannah Montana's biggest fan, I knew every song, had tons of memorabilia and went to see the HM movie at the cinema on a school day
I also knew all the High School Musical songs and thought the Cheetah girls 1 was terrible. It was too flat, too cheesy and wasn't really visually impressive. The second one though was way better, the songs were better, the dancing was better and when it finished I said "Wow, that was fantastic!"
At least the cheetah girls were diverse. Damn, they doing everything wrong nowadays...
