Family shares pet octopus journey on TikTok

An Oklahoma family who chronicled their pet octopus journey on TikTok announced after two months the arrival of 50 additional hatchlings. NBC News' Steven Romo discusses the challenges of taking care of octopuses, especially since the family lives nowhere near an ocean.

I keep spiders and all they really need is some substrate,a hide,water dish,and a few decorative items I add to their tanks and they are good to go for many years,up to 40 for some females.

The Jenks (just outside of Tulsa) Aquarium isn't too far from them.
Maybe they'd take a few?
It would make a really cool exhibit to know they came from this Oklahoma family.

As someone who works with Bimacs (Octopus bimaculoides, the California two-spot octopus) in a professional capacity, DO NOT get them as pets! (And if you do, certainly do NOT use this family's set-up as a guide, that tank is NOT suitable for an octopus!)
