Install Chrome Extensions Without an Account or the WebStore! (Perfect for work and school laptops!)

Hey welcome back, Ben again! Today we are looking at how to install a Google Chrome extension without needing to be signed into an account. This method can be super useful for adding extensions to devices that are managed by your work or school, or if you just don't have a Google account!
This method allows us to install extensions directly into the browser - web store not required!

It doesn't work. It still blocks it from even adding it. The way you used it (drag file onto extension) doesn't work. It got blocked.

after google killed legacy webstore this solution here seems to be the only working way for installing extensions to chrome on windows 7/8.1 because latest chrome version 108 available for these systems doesn't support the "new" chrome webstore...
