I read the Thrawn Trilogy a long time ago. I liked it. I've read 2 prose translations of The Iliad: The Samuel Butler translation & the W.H.D. Rouse translation. The Rouse translation was the better of the 2. It was much more readable. I picked up the Rouse translation of The Odyssey (sequel to the Iliad) as well, but I haven't read it yet.
I read the Fitzgerald translation of The Odyssey in high school. I enjoyed it, but it has been so long that I can't really offer much in way of critique.
There are so many translations available that it can be overwhelming. The important thing is that you find a translation that works for you.
If poetry isn't your thing then go with a prose translation over verse translation.
If you want poetry then Fagles or Fitzgerald are probably your best option.
If you want a literal translation (word equivalent) then Lattimore is your man.
    Happy reading.

So many great books on your list!!
I think it’s very smart to only add the first book in series that you don’t know if you’ll like.

The Song of Achilles was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time! Circe is on my shelf just waiting…

I know, I need to pick up the pace! I was kind of thinking of doing Frankenstein in October, what does buddy reading entail?

@@Dillon__Morris well it can be as little as just doing a tbr video and a review of the book and mentioning each others channels each time. So we are basically advertising each other's channel. Some of my subs might be interested in checking out your channel and vise versa.
Or it can be more if you wanna email each other or text each other while reading it. Nikki and I just finished a buddy read this week and we would read 4 chapters then text each other our thoughts on those chapters... But this was the first time I did this... My other buddy reads we just said we were doing it and then we released out review of the book on the same day.
If you're not interested that is completely ok... I just threw it out there because I wanna read this book as well. Trust me no hard feelings if you're not interested. 😂

You should definitely prioritise the Robin Hobb books the whole Realm of the Elderlings series is excellent but particularly the Liveship Traders, they are 3 of my favourite books ever.

I know they sound so good! I have a “soft” TBR planned up to November but I will be reading them sooner than later

“The Count of Monte Cristo because monte cristos are delicious” this is the kind of reasoning we love
