I find those the most interesting as well, because it's a problem you regularly face, contrary to that very rare tumor you only see once a year for instance...
Question, newly appeared 9mm pineal cyst has appeared from 8/2022 to now. I did not have it prior , i had MRIs the same year that showed no cyst. Question is: is this 9mm considered large ?
I don't know the specifics of your case, but speaking about simple pineal gland cysts in general: these are benign non-tumoral entities that are observed in a large part of the general population and have no impact on life expectancy whatsoever. Very rarely can they cause hydrocephalus when they are extremely large and very rarely can they be complicated by symptomatic hemorrhage (but I cannot stress enough that these situations are very rare and if you have a simple pineal gland cyst you definitely should not worry about those things). The specifics of your cyst (especially size and whetheter it's truly a pineal gland cysts) you have to discuss with your doctor.
@@michaelbraccia2195 i dont think there is really a concerning size. There are some studies that have described development of symptoms in puberty age girls (in this group and at this age most growth, still limited, is observed) with cysts over 15 mm, so in this age group some kind and with cysts above 15 mm some kind of FU can be considered, although the question is if you are going to "catch" them right before they become symptomatic...

well that doens't really sound like a pineal gland cyst, so maybe ask your doctor for some more information, best of luck to you!
