    This is super validating to see. Two weeks ago I decided to make my second push-pull-squat day of the week a 5x5 protocol focusing on greater demand and lower reps during the strength phase and I throw in some Animal Flow during the stability work. This week I decided to go totally with a 5x5 protocol and see how that worked for a while. As luck would have it, it sounds like my instincts were pointing me in the right direction already! :D

    Truly amazing, thanks so much for everything. This is by far the style of training that resonnates the most with me. With covid and remote working, I believe your microworkouts will revolutionnate the way people move. Keep it up. With Ido Portal's floreio, etc. list of moves, there's so many to choose from that we can do anywhere. No need for gyms and before dinner we can always train with rings/barbell but if we allready trained 5-6x times for 3 intense minutes during the day, no need for an hour+ of working out. Keep it simple and playfull, one love

    This is one of the things I appreciate the most about you, Matt, you are never hesitant to admit when things can be done better or to make corrections. I have tons of respect for anyone who can, even at the potentiality of causing new learners to hold off on buying the book. Which, they shouldn't, because all of the information is far too great to be overlooked and this video builds on it, not destroys it. You've tirelessly made fitness videos without monetization and written many books for free (which, for others reading this, are still available and doesn't require an email address, just simply download and enjoy!). I'm going to make an educated guess that you've probably influenced several "influencers" along the way and never gotten the credit for it. Though, admirably, you're not the type of person to care about such things. Stay safe, stay healthy, and have a peaceful evening!

    Hi Matt! It's great that you have updated the Grind-Style program. I just purchased the Kindle version of the book this passed March and was wondering if you would update your digital readers? I know you don't have to, or if it's even possible, but it would be nice. I just checked on my Kindle and the copy I bought has a publication date of July 22, 2019. Thanks for your consideration. 🙂

      That is certainly something I'm probably going to do. Right now I have a lot on my plate so that's going to be on the back buner. I was considering taking these idea and publishing an update, but by the time that happen it may be a few months. I figure it's best to just make videos like this and get the info to you asap.
      But yea, I'm actually planning on updating the full RDP library next year.

    Hey Matt, long-time follower here (back to the CC days). I almost never make any comments (no need, you explain things very clearly) but I'm curious. Now that you're saying to use 3-5 sets in the grind phase, do you have a preferred method for how to back-fill those sets?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  2 года назад +1

      Same scoreboard method, although these days I'm much more focused on just the proficiency of the exercise and how well I'm using my muscles. The reps I do are mostly the same from one workout to the next and the sets are due to energy levels and productivity in the workout.

    Hi Matt. Question for you. I am currently doing CC, while incorporating GSC 4 phases. Obviously I'm using the CC movement for my strength phase. Would you recommend the high rep count progression indicators used in CC, or the 8-10 (albeit at a higher progression) you discuss in GSC v.2? Thanks for all you do!

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  3 года назад +1

      You can use either, and you may want to go with the CC standards if you're starting out to build a good foundation. But if you're getting a lot of reps in the finisher, you're already getting a lot of reps so use the 8-10 standard if you're past the first few months of training

    Hey Matt, two questions my friend:
    1. For the strength phase are you aiming for 10 total reps within 3-5 sets (eg. 5 sets of 2 / 3 sets of 3) or 3-5 sets just under ten (eg. 5 sets of 7)?
    2. For the finisher phase are you going to do more than 1 set or just 1 to complete failure or beyond?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  4 года назад +1

      For the strength phase you'll probably end up around 25 reps or so. For the finisher 1-2 sets as much as possible is the way to go

    The best channel for calisthenics, hi Matt in CC is there a secret step between close squat (step 6) and and uneven squat (step 7), I master the close squat very well but I cannot move to uneven squat, can you give me a solution please? Thank you

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  4 года назад

      There are actually a lot of "hdden steps" in CC and I made a video on several of them here:
      ruclips.net/video/AGG7PjSxOlU/видео.html
      But yea, you can break any step down into micro steps. in this case, you may want to try doing uneven pistols on a lower object, like a towel instead of a basketball as shown in the book as many don't have that sort of hip mobility.

  • @jankrissPOMV

    Hello Matt, thanks for your work. I'm not sure I've understood : does it mean we have to perform the strength phase with additionnal weight ?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  4 года назад +1

      If you like sure, but notice that I am careful to use the word resistance not just weight, as you can also increase resistance with using a more advanced technique like in Convict Conditioning

    So are you suggesting to raise the resistance in the strength phase if you hit 5 sets of 8 reps? Would this make the finisher necessary now?

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  4 года назад +2

      Correct,
      and no, the finisher has never really been that necessary as it' just the cherry on top of the workout, but it can be a very satisfying and effective way to push the muscles to a super high level of fatigue which can be a bit harder in the strength phase
