  • SYNOPSIS
In "Spill, Split & Spark," an accidental coffee spill brings together Jenelle, a hearing student, and Jenessa, a Deaf student. After an initial rushed encounter, Jenelle and Jenessa reconnect in a school library, where a heartfelt post-it note is exchanged between them, leading to a spark in their friendship.
When Jenelle learnt that Jenessa was Deaf, she made an effort to communicate with her through texting and gesturing. Jenessa also took the initiative to teach Jenelle sign language, bridging their worlds and fostering a unique connection. The film concludes with Jenessa pasting polaroids on a scrapbook and writing “I’m proud to be Deaf.” feeling immense joy of the connection that she made with Jenelle.
The split screen, symbolizing the divide between the hearing and Deaf communities, dissolves as their genuine connection grows when they communicate with each other through small efforts, celebrating the beauty of inclusivity and the spark of a new friendship.
    FEATURING Jenessa (Deaf) & Jenelle.
