    The F-35 is just plane (lol) COOL... the vapor off the wings...... Santa Maria is close to the ocean and we have a high humidity most of the time extending a long ways inland... make's for a great Show. 😁

    Yet even advanced aircraft (and the F-35 really does try) are rapidly becoming 2nd class. Autonomous aircraft can pull 20+ Gs and will simply annihilate any vehicle constrained to keeping the pilot alive.
    Testing is in progress. More often than not the next step is deployment.
    In some ways those '38 victory rolls felt like a testament to the era of piloted flight.
    Conditions were just about perfect for vapes. Only things missing were the lightning and raindrops.
    ✌😎👍

      @@thomasgoodwin2648 Even if they could pull that hard, current propulsion technology wouldn't allow them to stay fast while doing it so they'd bleed a ton of airspeed. You'd also have to make them strong enough to handle and be maintained for it which will add weight. In the end harder maneuvering than what we already have isn't too necessary; missile technology and accuracy come first

    • @thomasgoodwin2648
      @thomasgoodwin2648 10 месяцев назад

      @@forzaelite1248 I appreciate your reasoned response. Thank you for discussion rather than dismissal.
      You raise a valid point. True, but turning battles are generally about trading airspeed and angle. If you can pull that extra bit, you can arrive at a firing solution faster, and be out of the high alpha maneuver that much quicker with the kill in hand (or gpu in this case).
      Whether it's nice or not, the fact is, if you aren't deploying a full drone force by 2030 (reasonable guesstimate) you might as well just invite the country in that does.
      Drones are gonna be cheap and roll off an assembly line fully combat ready. They don't need years of training, and no one is there to mourn them they're destroyed.
      Will they completely replace piloted aircraft? Probably not. Some recon, SnR, troop movement, will still need a pair of eyes and some bubblegum. On the other hand, the vast majority of direct combat roles will subsumed as the pilot increasingly becomes a limiting factor and single point of failure (No diss intended. Straight up nothing but respect for anyone who rides fire).
      If your Air Force has 1000 craft and the other side has 50K drones it might be too late to reconsider your options. (Not real numbers of course, at least not today, but the idea isn't that far off base).
      It's a numbers game, and if you aren't playing it, someone else is, guaranteed.

      @@thomasgoodwin2648Sidewinder and AMRAMS can pull 20+G my guy. Also, latency is a big issue with drones sure there is the future but there are problems with them. It's always better to have real eyes up in a fighter than a drone with someone looking through a camera thousands of miles away.
