It's fine, I hated him too. After his Redemption I still didn't like him, but still, you gotta admit, it is a good character. The worst is Sakura. Annoying af. As much as Skyler (from breaking bad).
ikr calling what he went through as a bad childhood is like calling a nuke a grenade, poor kid was literally raised as a weapon even more isolated than naruto and unlike naruto that damn tanuki wasnt even properly sealed so had to deal with the thing constantly messing with his mental. I didnt like him at the start but after the backstory, i was at least neutral about him.

Oh he's watching the OG Naruto, that show has so much filler but I think the filler when they were kids was good because it really built up the relationships between the characters, like the relationships between Naruto and the other teams, they say everyone hated Naruto but it felt like all the other teams were glad to have him around
