This has been the best phone review I've watched in years!! No mentioning of any other phones or trying to up sell another brand, just review the device in hand. THANK YOU!
that nokia glance.. oh man, that reminds me a lot of my old beautiful lumia.
I bought it a week ago and i am quite satisfied with everything it offers
Here's my review
Battery : i used to charge my z2 twice or thrice a day now Nokia 7+ lasts the whole day with a single charge
Screen : the screen resolution is quite satisfactory and there are no flaws in it, i mean let's be real most of the media is in 1080, you won't notice the diff with 4k
Performance : It's fast and well rounded, i don't think it's crashed so far
Camera : this is where it stands out, the camera is superb for the price, it feels like you've been blinded all along and just regaining sight, especially the 16 MP selfie cam, with great saturation
Design and size : the back feels a bit cheap and easily stains but from looks it's premium and very fancy, tho it needs some getting used to the screen size which i kind of have by now.
Connectivity coverage is way wider than my z2
My other picks were nokia 8 and Mi 6 but i picked this one for it's battery (over nokia8) and better cam and it's price being 110 $ cheaper than mi 6
I live in Iraq
Your review explains everything I need to know..
Bro you should do some reviews likes him..
Thanks for your review! I am planning to get one too, maybe. My only concern was when I was in the store trying it out, the keyboard felt awful and the keys were too close to each other that I couldn't type well. Is it just me or do you experience this too?
Well I bought the Honor 10 and I couldn't be happier! It's truly incredible and it's price is a total bargain. It's camera is phenomenal too! Better than Nokia 7 plus in my honest opinion.
@K. W. Full stock experience?
I have not tried a Google phone so I can't say. But So far I've had the Honor 10 with me for over a week and it's very reliable. The battery charge hella quick as well. The coverage and reception is very well. I have no complaints, so far.
Wow! The cameras on the Nokia 7 Plus is surprisingly good! gg Nokia.
SavageArfad Yeah loudspeaker is subpar compared to my MiA1.
But all in all is still a solid device and the build quality and on hand feel is excellent.
SavageArfad ur everywhere ur just here to hate Nokia 7plus and protect ur xiaomi rubbish Chinese phone get lost dude.
I won't say it's surprising. Nokia has always been famous with their camera phone, ever since they worked with zeiss.
Yes, but this is not a Nokia, this is HMD Global with Nokia logo
Dejan P u think so? Nokia or not its still a Nokia phone u can't change it lmao i own this I don't have any regrets at all excellent phone it feels like a flagship..
I bought it 2.5 years ago and it's still going strong, plus the specs still hold up.
3.6 years here. Looks like it will last even 2 more years lol. I also get many compliments on its looks : )
@@Flatlined804 same here brother! Though mine is getting laggy by the day. Needs a factory reset, that might help.
Thanks for the fair review of this phone, and Im glad that you were able to feature this one in your youtube channel.Nokia is back!
Yesss! Had the lumina 820 ... I cant remember but that was my favorite phone till this date.. tempting to buy this one
I think you do the best well rounded reviews on You Tube....ell done!
Exc video, well explained. Covers most of potential buyers inquiries. Good job guys
Amazing review. Short, informative and to the point. This will be my next phone for sure.
GSMArena Forever! Best Phone reviewers, hands down.
It's 2019 and still this is my dream phone. 😍
Been waiting far too long for this review.
i always like your tech reviews, always lively, simple and easy to understand
love your voice, so calming
Beautiful review, thanks! I am buying this beast tomorrow! ;)
Good thing on Nokia to use Android One instead of an ugly skin with lots of bloatware
AusDaes well, while Android one isn't bad, but it also wasn't all great either. Unless, you're OK to go Google fully. Otherwise, there's some may or may not considered a small thing that bothers you.
Example : other email account can't import phone number if it isn't a gmail account. You can get the mail but not the contact list. And the Google search bar widget cannot be remove from the home screen even though there's already too many way to access it!
@@ChaseYu you can use a 3rd party launcher from play store and never meet the search bar. And there are 100 other email apps
@@StraightEdgeNexus I'm fine with launcher ( or even the Google search bar, of course it would be great if Google allow to remove it from home screen). As for the account thing, it isn't the email that I have problems with, it is actually the contact list that being import to the phone that I have problems with Android One ( mainly Google being to much a dick in this case). You cannot sync contact list ( phone number) from other email account into your Android One(when the email isn't a gmail to begin with), cause Google doesn't allow other email account to sync contact list beside just the email. ( Anything else is no show, cause the system wouldn't work like regular Android from other OEM. ) Overall, Android One is still better than most OEM's version ( especially when the phone isn't a flagship, it is much better to have Android One than any OEM's own version of the OS ). Like, xiaomi A1, A2 ( affordable and very good for money).
Welcome back NOKIA. Still expensive compared to other chinese. But build quality is among the best!
Wilfredo Barrett Nokia headquarters is still in Finland, not in China.
True. Sorry for the blooper. HMD Global/Nokia has HQ in Finland, business association with vietnamese an chinese electronic corps. and manufacturing facilities in Finland, China, HK, Mexico, Brazil, Germany...So take your pick as to which one defines de origin and quality of Nokia phones. Finland is OK with me.
Nokia used to be a "crown jewel" to us (Finnish)... We would still like to see it that way. Having a Chinese phone myself and very happy with it. Oneplus 5T. Waiting for a killer Nokia flagship or Oneplus 6 to update.
I used to be a Nokia fan myself. Had a 1100, a 6230, a N75 and a 3600 slide models. Now i have a Xiaomi which is a great phone but I have some questions about durability and design. Would be very happy to return to Nokia.
"among"??? Nokia build quality is THE best
Got mine today, so happy.
Excellent effort and elaborated very well. Keep it up....
Thanks for the review man , just ordered one 📦 ..
My favourite phone I've had so far. Planning on keeping it as long as I can.
Will, that voice. I could listen to it all day. You should be narrating documentaries and animation features :)
❤️ I'm using it right now. Every touch is smart and cosy. Thank you Nokia !
Got mine last week ,just awesome !
Hi GSMArena team, may I know how much is audio decibel output when played a song either from RUclips or music player in indoor and outdoor environment since you quoted the audio quality is quite good for a mid-range phone?
Love your review bro! Although your voice did sound like it was dubbed.
Crisp review, One question, Does this feels heavy in the hand?
12 months on now and I'm more than happy with my Nokia 7 Plus. Still holds charge all day, and hasn't missed a beat.
I haven't even needed to do a factory reset.
Just purchased the Nokia 7plus and this phone is fantastic value for money. Its super fast and feels tons better than my old LG G5.
Hi.
Thanks for awesome review for Nokia 7 plus.
I'm waiting for Nokia 8 Sirocco review from GSMArena.
Sirocco sucks
Got mine since april 4 and am still very happy with it. I came from the HTC 10
i have a Nokia 6 2017 , it is updated to android 8.1 with april security updates. it is a great phone but the nokia 7 plus is too tempting. i'll have to control my self cause my nokia 6 is already sufficient for my needs and buying new one is just a WANT.
Jorrel Rivera then upgrade to Nokia 6 2018
Fernan Aquino that's stupid
i dont think that it is worth it,
for me , the only reason to get a new one is when this phone start to slow down my productivity
Jorrel Rivera I'm currently using the Nokia 6 2017 version and I won't be changing for a few years.
Great review; And finally someone asking to subscribe at the END of the video "if you liked".... Good job. I have this smartphone for about three days, and yes, great quality for a good price.
Watching on my nokia 7 plus ❤️❤️
Pre-ordered it and waiting for delivery. It might be slightly overpriced in India but I'll pay for the Brand.
Glory for Nokia fans
Abhishek Chindaluri Chances are high that it will be overpriced online rather than offline. Nokia 6.1 launched at 16999 is available online at the same price but from 15k to 17k offline.
Abhishek Chindaluri There are far better options than this phone.
Kiwi... Won't be like this...
Kiwi it's worth the price I just bought it yesterday am so so satisfied with it it's just like a flagship device so smooth build quality is superb unlike Ur Chinese Xiaomi devices lmfao
lanz pangilinan Ok, glad you're happy with it
im planning to buy this!the camera is so nice
Smart move showing bow quick print reader works using the mirror. First I've seen anyone do that. I to wish Nokia would incorporate front facing stereo speakers in their phones. That would make it complete in my book. Water resistant not a game changer for me. Can't remember last time I swam with my phone. As long as Nokia keeps prices realistic, I think they'll hang in,in competition with the pack. One plus, etc. Good review.
Nokia could have been next to Samsung if it didn't go (through the) Windows years ago or hold to Nokia's own OS, forgot the name of it, that's how good it was 😂🤣 ...oh, yeah...Symbian
It could have been before Apple...not after Samsung... Even if it didn't had chosen Android... Nokia had Meego OS... which was very aggressive and futuristic in 2011... It allowed multi tasking along with several other features bought by Google in Android 2013... But that OS project was stopped by stupid CEO Mr. Stephen Elop (ex-Microsoft employee having intension to be CEO of Microsoft by coming into Nokia nd selling it).
Kadafee right bro
It's not because of the Windows Phase, even on windows it could've been next to samsung. They've done no mistakes. The only one to blame is Microsoft which didn't invest enough in marketing so the developers found it not profitable to develop Apps on this OS.
yep, the windows phones was a big mistake from nokia side..
Nice windows 10 mobile is hands down the best os if you ask me. Only real problem is that most apps aren't supported
I see you're having some gains Will 😁
a great review GSMarena. thinking about upgrading to this phone this year. cant wait!
legend is back

berisik lu anjir
LOL
Yeah!!!!!!!!
I was Nokia for 8 yrs, 920, 1520, then 7 plus but got the 7 plus, and screen went blank, dead, and Nokia wouldn't help. So I left them. I'm with 1+ OnePlus now.
My next phone for sure. Been wanting those fast updates on a phone. Currently using J7 Prime and it's meh.
John really really meh 😂
Samsung sucks
Same J7 sucks balls
I don't know why but the Philippine&Taiwan versions won't update on Android N. Other versions are already on Android N.
The thing is that Samsung wants you to update your phone. J7 Pro and Prime almost have the same specs except for the AMOLED Display, Camera aperture, and Android Version. But both phone have the same slow SoC. Very very stupid. 😂
I've exchanged my J7 prime for Nokia 7+
This review is what im waiting for
Nice review. and good taste in Music :-) ozzy
It won many awards.. so underated!
Clear voice, calm & handsome presenter
Bought mine yesterday replaced my LG V20. NOT REGRETTING AT ALL. No led notification not a bummer, didn't buy it for just that. Get over it. Just double tap the screen to see the notifications. QHD to FHD+ that's ok but bigger battery oh yeah. And of course on time updates. But gonna miss the quad dac on my V20 though. Been using LG for years now G2, G3, G4 and V20. Just wish they placed the headphone jack at the bottom. Can't wait to theme my phone with substratum haha.
Steven Loreto Quick question has your V20 got the Oreo update cause im still debating on whether to the Nokia 7 plus or the V20
Donald Brown Nope! I got tired of waiting for that Oreo update. My V20 is stuck with 7.0 nougat. I want to theme my phone with substratum but you can't do that without Oreo update. I want to theme it black coz of that image retention problem of LG.
Steven Loreto ive heard about that problem too
The V20 is a good phone but LG messed up when they don't update their phones. I have a LG X Power and have never gotten an update since 2016. I might just go with the Nokia
Donald Brown yes if you really want timely updates get the Nokia 7+ with Android one. The build is great, screen is great too. You won't even notice the difference with QHD vs FHD+. And the battery just won't die haha. 1st time with the 18:9 aspect ratio and loving it. Audio in the included earphone is good but not V20 good..mmm close.
Steven Loreto thanks for the help
Its really affordable where im from cause a S7 Edge cause almost $1000 in Belize so i might just order it online
Honest review , coz I am using 7 plus right now
This phone kicks ass for the price.
I just picked one up and I'm very happy with it.
Watching this on my Nokia 7 Plus. . Bought yesterday because of this review hehe
I have it and it's amazing ❤️ The best screen size!
I am really loving these Nokia phones. I am hoping they can produce a killer flagship soon. I'd buy it!
I've been using a Nokia 7 Plus for several weeks. And it's a lot more amazing than what I was expecting for a phone in the 'budget' price range. Thanks Nokia and HMD!!
Also, I don't understand people's obsession for 'flagship' phones. They cost lots of money for small improvements. And then a new flagship model is release with 'improvements' after a few months...and the neverending cycle continues. I hope Android OS can learn a lesson from Apple iOS and provide long term updates.
Install coocent bass boost and eq app. Makes a big difference for the headphones. I'm well happy with this phone. Didn't even know it had a slow motion camera.
Woah, the camera seems pretty good
The upper midrange is getting good, it will be interesting to see a comparison with the Xiaomi MiA2.
This phone is A Beast Ive had it for a Year and there is No single Scratch Or Anything Not working in my opinion this is the one of the top 10 nokia phones because its Very Reliable and Strong.
Hi, you're pretty serious but lovely guy
I love your honest reviews
I'm using this phone since 4 to 5 months and probably best phone i used till now.. this phone is worth to buy better than any phone available in this price
Hey guys just bought it yesterday it's superb phone jeez about the headphone jack? Well it's not flat!! Idk why some said it's flat but it's great in terms of quality so satisfied so far!
*Good review,thank you* 👍👍👍👍
Hi gsm arena hope you'll answer my question hehe.. Is the fast charger that include in the box really minimizes the lifespan of the battery? Because when I charge my 7 plus it heat my phone up is it normal? Or I should use some standard charger coz I'm worrying about the battery also the phone ofc... it really is a fast charger because it's 50% just 30minutes of charging pls guide me for what's the best way to preserve the life span..
I love nokia so much.
I have been looking for where to buy it
I remember having my first Nokia long time ago it was so durable.
Still loving my Nokia ❤️😻
I have already and I feel proud to Nokia.,,😍
Watching this on the Nokia 7+ itself. Great pictures (thanks to Google photos editing tools). The phone went back for display and charging port replacement. The touchscreen was unresponsive and the type C charging port was wiggly. Almost two years with this device and there haven't been any other issues.
🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬 благодаря, gsmarena!
Can you update your low light test table with the CANON EOS photos? Or other big ass compact or mirror camera?
Hey Will, thanks for the review. I found that you've put on a little weight (?)
5:09 How can you even see the phone if your hairs are blocking your sunglasses lol? 😂😂
I love gsmarena but you guys make so much fuss about waterproofing. It's not a big deal if a phone does not have it. I prefer better sound and better microphones instead of waterproofing.
Maybe will is a swimmer
They try to search for the perfect device so they would always give u some downside to every phone but water proofing is really important for some (me included )
It's definitely important to me, thus why I bought the LG V30 (for $350) and not something else.
It's ip 54
The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 has similar spec but with OIS added to the camera department. Will OIS improve the camera drastically? I am confused since the rumoured Mi A2 will also feature the same specifications but with no OIS compared to the Mi Note 3 which delivers a score of 90 on DxOMark.
Will this be a dealbreaker?
Still rocking this phone. Great phone and features, not sure about anything Nokia has released in 2022. Going with redmi note 10 pro that seems to have all the same boxes that this phone ticked for me when i bought the Nokia 7 Plus. From what i see on Nokia's new line up is they are just average phones now with subpar performance at the midrange level.
Any news if HMD will release a USA version?
Bought four weeks ago very pleased a good phone
How about the noise level of the photo taken from Nokia 7+ in low light condition?
Just ordered via Carphone Warehouse - £20 topcashback + free Google home mini. Bargain of a phone; I'm just disappointed at lack of waterproofing. Will have to be more careful in the shower!
Great review, thanks.
I'm actually planning to get my mom a new phone and I've been looking at the $300-$400 range. I've been looking at the Samsung A50, Vivo V15, Oppo F11 Pro, but they all seem to have compromises that I'm finding hard to decide on (e.g. glass backs that may not hold up over time, stupid notches, Funtouch, etc.) Then out of the blue I somehow came across the Nokia 7 Plus. Competitive specs, very classy metal build, Android One and no stupid notch. And the kicker is, I can get it for a mere $233!! I think I've come across a terrific deal here. Suddenly I dropped all the other phones from my list.
Nice choice since a50 doesn't support 4k recording and 3d audio sound. Hate super amoled to much unnatural colors . I'm still loving IPS display only in Nokia they have different IPS display compare poco a7 and Nokia then you will see the results..
@@angelo_alexpaguntalan411 I'm not into 4K video recording, in fact 720p is fine and shouldn't hog all my storage. The triple mic setup is pretty cool though. Also, I don't care much whether it's IPS or AMOLED as long as it's not one of those cheap panels that look washed out, but yes Nokia's IPS panel here is very good, if not one of the best. I'll go with the 7 Plus over the V15 etc because the specs are very competitive, premium build, and Nokia vibes. The Honor 8X is close but I hate notches. The V15 really looks nice but I don't like Funtouch and it's much pricier than the Nokia. The Oppo F11 Pro is very nice but it's the most expensive, made of plastic, and only has 64GB. Not a solid deal in my book. The Nokia 7 Plus also only has 64GB but it's much cheaper so it's more forgiveable and it does have some pluses over the Oppo (metal build, no notch, clean design, USB-C, comparable SoC and battery). Oh and yeah the 7 Plus is now down to about $220.
I'm typing this on my Nokia 6.1 64GB, BTW. I love this phone. Got it for only $124 about 5 weeks ago. Awesome deal!!
Great phone. Love using it.
Great review for a great mid range phone !
Which one would you recommend between Nokia 7 plus and S7 Edge? Please let me know.
I like this phone because of the design and colorscheme, I love it. But I need to know: what about the content likes movies, series and youtube being 1920x1080 or 1280x720? So 16:9 ratio content on this phone?
is it worth buying cause I want a grt8 camera as well as storage got to know that the camera is average so should I buy it or wait for other one under 30k?
I have the nokia 7 plus and its awesome
I'm still using my Nokia 7 Plus now! I do phone vlogs on my channel using the device. 👌✨
I have a Nokia 7+ phone and I have been very impressed with it.
I wanted to get a micro SD card to add extra storage, for videos (from the camera) but I have read that some android phones will not permit storage of images on an SD card. is this the case with Nokia 7+ or is a card Ok to use.
Which card is best for video ? The memory size is easy to understand, but there are various other numbers etc on all cards .. I am confused.
thanks
wow camera is very good good. good
I just got one today, great phone, runs demanding games like pubg just fine, nice screen, good size, nice weight, battery has seemed great so far (ive really been hammering the battery cos uknow, new phone and its still in the 80%s)
cpu is snappy and fast and runs cool, sensors all seem nicely accurate, great for VR experiences (if you're into that kinda thing) thanks to the size and screen resolution (which is surprisingly crisp for just a 1080p screen)
streamlined android OS with no bloatware means it starts up really fast and doesn't have crap i don't want or need.
build quality seems great, but the plasticized coating, whilst giving it a nice feel, really does make it harder to keep clean.
the fingerprint sensor is not bad tbh, its not the fastest out there but its never failed to accurately detect the right print, even when im using it awkwardly or not fully contacting the sensor.
the aesthetics are really top notch, its personal taste of course but the copper highlighting and trim look REALLY nice imo.
the camera is really good, no noise issues when zooming in on a 4k image after putting it on a large screen to inspect it. colour is sometimes a little "odd" when taking photos with everything on "auto" but I'm not a photographer, though this issue is easily fixed by manually changing the colour and lighting settings.
the audio isn't really much of an issue, I disagree with this video in this point, its not REALLY loud, but its not quiet either, increasing the volume higher than the "official" maximum volume, by say, setting 150% volume in VLC audio settings, WILL increase the volume but adds a fair bit of distortion, although tbh its really not necessary
oh and the free headphones are really really good, far better than the ones you get with samsung or sony phones. they are solidly built aluminium with a nice thick yet flexible cable and really good sound quality. there's probably $30 worth of headphones, which is not a lot, but it's worth mentioning.
one more thing is the weight, its not a particularly heavy phone by any means but you can FEEL the quality in the weight, it really FEELS like a well built product.
overall it really is a flagship phone for a mid range price, easily outstrips my previous xperia z5 premium (i think 2016 flagship) and does it using less charge and for half the price (at least from my contract price)
AwesomeVindicator how was the Free case that came with it?
BeReal Bud not good, a cheap silicon thing , although tbh I didn't choose this phone to put it in a case 🙂
looks good, have a good price. Ok camera good bateri :)
Actly a pretty nice phone :)
Good WOrk Nokia. Hoping that Nokia can come back strong :D
the design for me is one of the best, looks classy and premium. Design like this and a spec and price like Xiaomi and it's all GOOD
Good day :) How does this compare with the essential phone, now that the latter sells for 325 dollars US?
The only thing holding me back from buying is its connect ability with the Fitbit Versa, so does it connect properly?
using it since 18 months, no issues so far, no need to buy iphones or pixels, when you have Nokia 7 Plus 🙂
That's how I feel. I got off the samsung ride and I've been using a nokia for 3 years now.
Damn. You have a great microphone. I thought you were in my room
I want to buy , mostly because the memory. Nokia gave me good mobile phone memory, memory of old days :=) It proves our youth time a lot
should i still buy it now or is there a better one in this pricerange?
Nokia 7 plus is very attractive esecially thier function because it looks so great externally...want to use this if I have enough money now.
Wonderful review
Nice review. I only wish the 7 Plus came in Steel.
