For FTP players, another good metric are the lab potions. You can get 3 per week at cost of 360 gems. That's 3 days upgrade in 3 hours. Same cost gets you an additional researcher for 9 days. So you get an extra 5.85 days off lab time for your gem investment at 0.39 hours per gem. AND if you buy research potions with your Raid Medals (3 per week for 600 medals), you can knock that 9 day lab upgrade down to 6.15days. means every week, (if you have the Gems available and buy research potions with raid medals), the Goblin saves 9.85 extra days (so 7 more than just buying the potions with gems) on lab time. Or 0.426 hours (25.5 mins) per gem.
I will gladly give my achievments gems to the goblin bros even on 11fay upgrades, since book is still like 80gems per day and goblin is 40, since i dont plan on buying gems

Using a research potion with double lab training going with a goblin bro is an excellent use of the potion but gem wise it’s the same if you’re upgrading with or without a potion.

I play free to play, and I happend to have saved a lot of gems. So I just upgrade the longest upgrade 'for free' and a short one with gems. I always make sure I can use research books while both upgrades are going.
I'm personally using the 2 goblins non stop, it's time earned. I don't care about ressources, I'll buy that time. It's a bit above 10 bucks to get a non stop working goblin, what's so different with a battle pass? Just less sexy on appearence :)
Yes agreed! If you have the actual cash or want to spend money on a base then the Goblin Builder is actually the most efficient use of your money overall cash shop considerations aside. Have fun with it! 😎
About two months ago I started a rushed account for a fun little side project. I rushed it to 10 and I’m going to keep it there and fully max it out. The goblin builder is ridiculously cheap at Townhall 10 but on my Townhall 15 base no way am I going to pay for him? it is the same for that nerd in the lab too.
Yeah I would use the Goblin Bros all freaking day at th10 ha. My strategic rushed base is now at th14 and I’m only bothering to use my goblin bros on upgrades that will take less than 7.5 days.

Not at all but also understand that unless you’re going to keep the goblin bro going forever in your lab then speeding it up now or later doesn’t really make a difference either way. Just means you’ll have an extra troop upgrade 3 days early 🙂 But YES using the goblin bro with a research potion is efficient 😎

Your base assumption that people spend money on books or gems don't hold true for 99% of players. As these players don't spend money anywhey other than maybe gold pass. Using goblin builder for lab is totally worth it as over time you must have saved thousands of gems just by casually playiy the game as I have over 14k gems without spending any money and I as using the Goblin Bro to upgrade my lab for entire event 😁
