I know a lot of people hated their debut but I personally loved it first listen and liked dice as well alot. Its one thing to hate on music, but these girls work hard and are talented and don't deserve it. Thank you for getting more into them, you won't regret it!!
Those pre debut qualifying videos..those are the ones. Just..yeah..yup this comeback has made them my ULT group and I’ve been in KPop for 15+ years..they different fr
I can also see Lily in YG - she has a swag that would fit with YG, but then we wouldn't have our current Lily-Haewon duo. If Blackpink had debuted (2016) around the time she was on the show (2014), I personally think she might have picked YG with Jennie and Rose having lived in NZ and Aus. But JYP was able to better connect with her in English on the show because she did not speak Korean at the time and YG could not communicate with her in English (he used an interpreter). If you watched that season (Kpopstar 4), YG really wanted her and his judging was so biased everytime she perfromed that he either had hearts in his eyes or dollar signs (a more cynical view) and referred to her a generational talent (similar to Bang Yedam, former member of Treasure, same show but two seasons earlier). Her influences before the show have all been Western - her favorite artist was, and still is, Taylor Swift, and according to one of her vlives, she had a Taylor Swift fanclub when she was 12/13 yo. She knew very little about kpop having grown up in a small country town in Aus, and in her interview at the time she just wanted to sing and become a singer in Aus and Korea, and entered the show because her mum enjoyed watching it.

They just won yesterday 😂🎉 . As long as their producers do a good job the sky the limit ( they are young 😅 they need experience one of them has a RUclips channel she's hot BTW )
Jype talent scouts for girl groups are women. It would be really problematic if a male approached middle school or sometimes elementary school age kids and told them he was a talent scout. No way in hell that would fly not even in S.Korea.
concerning kyujin... kpop industry is unfortunately, yes, very obsessed with children and marketing them as a product to exploit for profits it will always be a strange thing
