    JME's bars about the university is about him having a university degree but that doesn't mean he has any less street cred because the music is still from the streets. He is Skepta's brother, another UK legend.

    Never knew that Dizzy Rascal was unknown in the US. He pretty much created and popularised grime in the early 2000s, and his poppier stuff (like Bonkers) has been standard club music for decades now. He's a household name in the UK - as in everyone's grandparents would know the name. I'd say the majority of UK rap is descended from his style.

    So many artist missed from this list. Old school - So solid Crew, Wiley, Kano, professor Green, the streets, Dizzy Rascals songs before he became international plus more. New School - Digga D, Aitch, SR, SL, Benzz, Russ, Tion Wayne, DigDat, Unknown T and so many more.

No Asher D/Ashley Walters, no Kano. It don't make sense, make it make sense. Could you imagine, can you remember the first time you heard the beat for P's and Q's, then da bars start following, how do you have a conversation about uk rap without so solid, blasphemy! OK, fine, tic for tac, rap in the US didn't exist before Drake.

      @@decentstuff4941 I Don't expect them to come up with every artist but if you are doing a Video about UK Drill/Rap you have to name some honourable mentions people who paved the way for what UK rap is today. Dizzy Rascals bonkers song is far from the rap he used to make. There's so many UK artists who also could have been used who are not mainstream.

Even heartless Crew or even More Fire Crew with Oi. There's even lethal Bizzle with Pow. So many artists who paved the way for Today's Rap scene.

    So for clarity JME has a degree in 3D design from Greenwich. What he's saying in this song is that he gets some people might be surprised at that fact but that it doesn't matter because his academic success doesn't stop him or his music being from the streets. It's a real shame that the commentator manages to go for the complete opposite point JME is trying to make.

    The JME line about a degree was interpreted wrong. JME is basically saying people are surprised he can be on the grime scene and also be well educated (as he has a uni degree) but he grew up on the streets so knows the grime scene well.

    One thing I need Americans to free themselves with that UK rappers are NOT criminals like theirs. Not once but twice they mentioned criminal activity to UK rappers, Stormzy, Dave, Lil Sims, JME and his brother Skepta (just to name a few) grew up in low income households and used their gifts supported by their families and the church they grew up in to escape poverty. This is why I prefer UK rap from American rap...

      It's not that good, very overrated. It just blew up back in the day and helped push the genre into a more mainstream audience so people think of it highly. That's Stormzy in general to be honest. One of the most well known artists to come from the grime scene but there's many artists way better than he is that aren't as popular.

    Those song choices were not a good intro to UK music, of all Dizzee Rascals song you show them bonkers! That’s bonkers! You chose Ivorian Doll over Lady Leshur?
