I swear there used to be another version of them performing this one acoustically in a studio, and Ben hit all the notes just like in the rock version... but I can’t find it anywhere for the life of me

The only other acoustic versions I've found of this one are at live shows, which there's one where he does it almost perfectly but it isn't a studio recording, so it's not as clear.

If, as a singer, you cannot hit the notes of the vocal melody, then please do not play the song live. I am tired of singers singing a different melody line because they cant perform the stuff live. Because a lot of the former members were, how to put this politely, assholes. Controversy and lawsuits tore the band apart.
