I can appreciate both classical locking and today's locking. Both look great and takes talent to execute continuously for X number of minutes.
I love it when the girl(Funky-J) begins to dance at 1:25 min and at 5:04 min. So much feeling to the music.
Vovan was the best to me.
Really feeling Vovan's first round. His technique is amazing.
The BEST dancers I've EVER seen...should be touring.
What I love is that a few moves from a few dudes and gals became a movement that has inspired 100s of millions of souls through time and continents. This is what true passion for your craft can create.

This is NOT LOCKING. This is simply a NEW generation of young people who may claim they want to EMULATE locking. But in their attempt to do so, they have lost sight of the art. They are not truly "in touch" with it's roots. Not everyone can be a locker. In fact most people just attempt to lock and will never even come close to talent of those people who actually pioneered the ART. The TRUE LOCKER dancer will stand out. It is a GIFT. It is a natural God given ability. The natural rhythm of a true LOCKER dancer cannot be taught. This video shows people having fun dancing. It's obvious they enjoy what they are doing. But they are not locking. They attempt fundamental locking moves, which quickly turn into a spontaneous mixture of individual freestyle. NOT LOCKING. Once again, the moves I see are consistently spontaneous, spastic type movements that are 80% of the time OFF beat. This video is does not represent the true art of locking. But ONLY another form of freestyle dancing. Continue having fun. But "KNOW" the difference. :D

Funky J was only Ok. Her movements were too fast and undefined. The guy in the saturated red clothes was too fast.

Vovan single handedly won this entire battle. Pick any 10 seconds of him and it's better than everything anyone else put together the whole battle. Massive judge fail. Loic and Manu ran through the Lockers Handbook from the 70's in double time...zero originality, showmanship or musicality. :-/

Im so confused, i see locking but is it me or are they not on beat with the music nor are they hitting the crucial moments of the music that basically decides the winner of the round. im not saying they are bad im just feeling like they are bit off with the music.

I agree that Vovan made this entire battle. All these people pointing out H&B and P-Lock, Which is fair that people have preferences. I personally prefer Firelock who recently beat Yu from H&B. But as always it all comes down to judges.
Why don’t they show this on TV instead of Dancing With The Stars?

I'm starting to figure out what makes a locker better in competition. It's quite similar to breaking but I'm curious why the high speed isn't as impressive here. I prefer to see deliberate movements rather than illusions and speed.

What's the difference between locking and wacking?
the basics are diferents, but are quite similar, the music is a little bit diferent too
locking came first
Basically, Locking appeared by the 60's and the music used to dance is funk/soul, like James Brown, B.T. Express and others.
Waacking came later, by the end of the 80's or else, dunno. Waacking is danced with disco music and some kinds of house music.
The foundations between them are different, but they do share some similarities.

My guess is it went on musicality. The guy in the suit was super slick!!! But the other two carried them selves and hit the beats better, it looked spontaneous and more impromptu. But I do agree the guy in the suit man hell yeah!
