    DLC SPOILERS:
If you bring Madeline (the other Marni), she'll feel Marni's death. She'll say: "I feel an awful pain behind my sternum...but why? I don't recall being struck there...

  • @TheJaredPunch
    @TheJaredPunch 10 месяцев назад +4

Veyle: “I tried so hard. I wanted Papa to look at me and not see a defect. I wanted him to forget about the other worlds and just be with me. I'd always think, "If only I tried harder…” But it never mattered! I kept getting crushed over and over... I'm so tired. If I have to die again and fail once more... I'd rather it just end here with you.”
This will never not hurt me. I may have not been in an abusive relationship, but I understand what Veyle is trying to say and I understand wanting someone to be proud of me.
But more importantly, it’s clear that everything that has happened in her life has become too much from her. From Zephia and Sombron’s abuse, not being strong enough in her dad’s eyes, all the way down to the crimes her evil self committed. But all of that meant something if it meant she could reunite with her older sibling. It wasn’t until said older sibling died protecting and realizing the truth too late (not to mention the fact that her evil self wronged said sibling and their friends) that finally breaks Veyle.
This moment for Veyle in my eyes is her saying that she has had enough of life putting her into the dirt at every turn, and if this the last time she’s going to die as a failure, so be it. Veyle has reunited with Alear and that is enough for her. Again in the voice of Chuggaconroy: POOR VEYLE! 😭
This is when Alear becomes the voice and gives the words that Veyle needed to hear.
Alear: “Veyle, you have been through so much, and I understand why you feel the way you do. But please, don't give up. Not before you experience the life you deserve.”
After that, Alear finds a way to continue helping their friends while also showing that Veyle can do something: bring Alear back as a Corrupted. I LOVE THIS MOMENT! Not only do we actually get to play as a Corrupted, but it was Alear’s idea in order to keep fighting. It not only shows Alear’s character development by putting their fear aside to continue fighting, but also allows Veyle to realize that she can use her cursed powers for good.
And these final lines right here is what gives Veyle the courage she needs to keep moving forward:
Alear: “Veyle... What do you live for?”
    Veyle: “What do you mean?”
Alear: “My friends told me it doesn't matter where you're from. What's important is how you live.”
Alear: “How you live and what you do shapes your future. So...who do you want to become?”
Veyle: “I've never thought about that. But if it were possible for me to change now, I suppose... I'd want to be like you. I'd want to become a dragon who saves the world.”
That last line is the name of the song that is playing. And it’s 🤬ING BEAUTIFUL! This plays in both the end of chapter 11 and 20 as well. It shifts being a sad and mournful song it hopeful one as the tune rises, it symbolizes Alear and Veyle here overcoming the despair and standing up from it!
Everything that Alear has learned from the Emblems, their mother and all of their friends are now giving Alear a means to convince Veyle to keep fighting. Alear is doing for Veyle what everyone else did for them!

    11:00 GG for evil Veyle.
19:36 that's interesting. In previous games you would have to be in the range of at least only one enemy to be able to bait them. Granted, sometimes with the way they were positioned you would still end up baiting two or more enemies at once.
52:14 Imagine if you could get one of those. Unless they became one of the few breakable weapons in the game, there's a reason why they can't be used. Then again, there was also the game where they first appeared, Mystery of the Emblem, where they had the amount of uses from a regular tome, and for a siege tome, that's a lot, but thankfully, while it is enemy only, there's also not a lot of enemies that use it. Damn, all this text just for a tome lol.
1:09:08 the ones that I like more are the ones that talk about being able to use two emblem rings at once, but either settle with just using the one they have or feel that that is impossible. The reason is because, well, Imagine that.
1:11:18 yeah, usually that ends up turning very ugly.
1:12:43 now he's dying for a third time in a row. That's something no other FE main character managed to do lol.
1:14:36 ngl this was one moment that made me feel really bad for Alear, because for a moment they think that despite being able to help his friends, he still won't be able to live long to aid them further. And the last thing he thinks about before seeing light, it's almost as if he was about to say that he sees nothing, which was something that for a time I began to think about, not just our mortality and finite time of our lives, but mainly where do we go to, as if there was nowhere we go after we're gone, nothing to feel, nothing that even reminded us that we exist (this was something that I began to think about for at least in June, more or less, and a few months before I turned 20 last month, though thankfully I don't feel too afflicted by that as of now).
1:18:20 that's right folks, he is not just the 13th emblem ring, HE IS THE F$*£ING FIRE EMBLEM!
    THE FIRE EMBLEM IS REEAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!
Although, it's a bit curious that he doesn't keep the blue hair after becoming an emblem (a physical one at that instead of a spirit one), and only has it when he enters engage mode. One would think that would make it so that he fully became into a divine dragon, but then again, a more missed chance than this one was Alear being able to use a dragon stone.
1:20:47 but what about the Aum staff (from the same games you come from, Marth!)? Or the revival shrines from Celica's games? Or the Valkyrie staff from Jugdral (repairable staffs ftw btw)? Or the Bifrost staff from Corrin's game? Guess they never acknowledge them in story after all.
1:27:01 yeah, me too. They make for some really cool battle places after all.
1:27:37 maybe the main hint here was that he's a sage instead of a high priest, so maybe that's why he's not a holy man. Just saying lol, unless...
1:29:41 yeah, the obvious reason being that they're the last units to join the group in the game, and coupled with the fact the last maps have two more unit slots than the previous ones, it makes for them being the characters that should be used to help your main army further.
    1:43:38 - 1:43:43 lmao
1:34:16 I like the way how Alfred's english VA (Nick Wolfhard) interpreted this scene more imo. Still, a pretty funny scene I would say lol.
2:05:33 yeah, that's something pretty neat I would say now that Alear's an emblem lol.
2:07:30 Idk about this too well, but I feel as if this support convo (and maybe Alear's convos with Veyle) have an unique support convo theme that doesn't appear in any other support convo. It's practically a more slower, peaceful, and happier sounding version of the chapter 17 map theme, which fits this very well imo.

It’s a lot to take in.
We fulfilled our “Presumed dead, only to come back shortly afterward” quota, and we get the franchise title drop, both at the same time! Honestly, I’m ashamed of myself. I should’ve seen this plot twist coming from a mile away. Oh, not the whole “Alear dies” thing. It’s happened to main characters in Fire Emblem before. I’m referring to Alear returning as an Emblem, and the Fire Emblem at that. After all, if this franchise gets another anniversary game like this, Alear will have to make an appearance at some point, and this is how, I guess.
I do have questions about gameplay, now that Alear is also an Emblem, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be answered in the upcoming videos, especially his own Paralouge.

Emblem Alear gameplay is IMO, one of the strongest Emblems in the game.

And now we're at the final stretch of the game where the remaining main story maps all have strong incentive against turtling, whether it's reinforcements or a time limit.
    You definitely have this though.

When Lindon said he's not a Holy man, he meant that in Elusia they followed the Fell Dragon instead of the Divine Dragon so in other words he was an Unholy man. They sprinkle throughout the story, like when Hortensia gives you a packed lunch, she would say "something something made with Chaos, oh I meant made with Love". That kind of discussion would be so interesting to see but they don't want to go there. How disappointing. It's understandable that most forget this detail.

In my latest run, I used Veyle as a Griffin Knight with Marth and she did not disappoint. Sword Power/Speed +5 gave her really good damage with the Levin Sword, especially with Lodestar Rush as a delete-enemy button. Whenever I needed to kill an enemy with high Resistance, Mercurius came in clutch. A very interesting late game unit tbh.

I had to factory reset my computer for a ransomware attack. I have backed up my Fates data though (I'm pretty sure you know I'm using Citra at this point) there's only 3 videos left until I switch my focus to *unlocking...* Lunatic+ in Awakening. I am currently still stuck on Chapter 5 and correct me if I'm wrong but you haven't played Lunatic+ cause you couldn't even unlock it, right?

I´m really enjoying this game, however.... This chapter made me click off the video multiple times because I simply couldn´t handle the stupid plot twists. I don´t wanna complain but...
    A. Alear coming back as a corrupted, and retaining all their personality and regular appearence unlike literally every other corrupted we have seen until now
    B. I´ll chalk this up to determination but the fact that Veyle suddenly had the power to return despite Sombron´s power being boosted by all the emblems.
    C. Alear literally taking on the name "Fire emblem"
    D. I know they´re the only emblem that have a body but just the fact that we see them in their all blue and shiny emblem form and literally in the next scene they´re back to colgate toothpaste looking not shiny human version without any transformation or anyone making a single comment.

    • @TheJaredPunch
      @TheJaredPunch 10 месяцев назад

      A. Keep in mind that unlike Sombron, as Alear said in this chapter, Veyle’s corruption powers make the corrupted actually feel like they have come back to life. This is Veyle’s innate ability.
      B. I’ll let you have this one, but I personal don’t let it bother me.
      C. Every Fire Emblem game has had a Fire Emblem (except Gaiden because it takes place in Marth’s game). It’s just that Alear is the first Fire Emblem to be a sentient being.
      D. Gameplay and Story Segregation. That and Veyle does comment on it in her early support with Alear. Plus they need to actually Engage to transform.
