This is great! I my favourite section was 'J' - the rising brass gave a fresh sense of tension with a resolving link to the melody in 113! Awesome! Would be great to hear this live!
Thanks Ross! I like that bit too. I 'borrowed' it from Gil's arrangement of 'Lester Leaps In' with Cannonball, except I extended the idea through to the A section.
Holy! You went all out on this one!
Haha thanks Gabriel. 😀
Idk, you're just amazing. This isn't fair :(
Oh, thank you! Feel free to ask questions. I'm happy to help.
Great lines, great arrangement Alex!
Thank you Johannes!
Yeah man! Really nice to hear a full arrangement of yours, it sounds very good and very Gil!
Thank you Fredrik! What projects are you working on at the moment?
Top notch playing and arranging. Why did you cut the trumpet solo? Love the piano and drums. Can’t say I don’t love a single a single thing about this performance!
What do you use for notation software? Leaning towards getting Sibelius. Seems like I hear mostly good stuff about it and some say Finale took out some features that make it not so good.
Thank you. I cut the solos as I thought of the video as more of an arranging showcase. The link to whole performance is in the description. I use Sibelius. It has same major bugs, but I haven't used any others so I can't comment really. I use pencil and paper to compose/arrange as I find it allows me to be more creative. And then I put the final version on Sibelius so I can print parts etc.
@@gilevansinsideout cool. Thanks for the reply! I just bought all of your pdf’s. Never done a big band arrangement. Excited to dive in.
@@rustOfunk oh that was you! Thank you so much. Feel free to ask questions
