    Another of those "Why don't they just make it that way?" things. I may have to do it when I get home.
    Hello from Jacob Lake, where the wind has been blowing nonstop for two days! There were 60 mph gusts at the North Rim yesterday. Moving up to Kanab tomorrow morning to start the Utah leg of the trip.

      Hi Jeffrey! Agreed - not sure why it isn't standard. And we are so jealous. Such a beautiful area. It was crazy windy the day we were at the North Rim also but not that crazy! Definitely not a place you want to lose your footing!! Let us know how you like Kanab and safe travels!

    Thanks for the great tip. Struggled with those low drain caps in the past. Also, thanks for the great ideas on another video about Harbor Freight. Went shopping the morning at Harbor Freight and found great items we need for our GeoPro and great prices. Zip ties, disposable gloves for dumping, bungee cords, 2 foot level, lantern, etc. Spent $54 and came hope with a bag full of goodies. Safe travels.

      Thank you for watching! Harbor Freight is great - can always find a way to spend a few dollars haha. And one tip on the drain caps - use some plumbers tape / Teflon tape so no leaks. We mentioned that in the description but totally missed it in the video! Safe travels to you as well!

    Great mod! I did the same install. Spray painted them black to match the framing under the camper. Also, I use the cold water valve to fill dog bowls, clean shoes/feet, etc. while camping... I like having an "outdoor faucet" on the "party" side of the camper :). Cheers!

      @@WinesPinesandCanines Thanks for the reply! Yes, we will certainly be using some Teflon tape. It looks like there should be enough clearance between the 2 outlets so that installing them should not be a problem. Thanks again for this tip!

    Sounds like a good idea, but get back after a few years and see how there working. Any PVC ball valve I've ever seen was near impossible to turn after a few years. I use brass ball valves instead. Far more expensive, but they work every time no matter how long they have been on .

    I’m having this exact problem right now. Caps are leaking. Was about to get some Teflon tape when I came across this video. Valves look so much more convenient. Although they didn’t take convenience into consideration when they designed this camper. Both drain lines are placed perfectly behind and right between my dual axle. Can’t get at them at all without climbing under the trailer. Such a stupid location.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  Год назад

      They are much more convenient but we did add some teflon to these as well as one started dripping. But been a year and no issues.
      But yes - that sounds like a terrible position to access!

      Have heard a few comments to that. We were a little worried when we first went to do it but there was enough give in the lines to be able to get the second one on (as you can see in the video, we didn't need to hold it over much). But if they had been much closer together, it would have been a toss up. Let us know how it goes!

  • @lelandplume6889
    @lelandplume6889 2 года назад

    I saw this done on a Facebook page, bought the valves, then discovered they’d put the two lines too close together underneath so there was one room for one valve! ☹️ Now I’m looking for another option.

    Hey Camp Friends I tried this but I had to remove them because they would not stop leaking I bought them from Lowes. I ended up putting the OEM ones back on any tips would be greatly appreciated do these come with a washer?

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  2 года назад

      So the ones we bought were from Home Depot - no washers. We haven’t had an issue but haven’t been able to camp as much as we would like this year to keep trying them out haha. Were they both leaking? Have seen others online do the swap out as well and different ones used (others have ordered online). Maybe trying a different set or may want to add a little teflon tape to the threads. Let us know if you try again and how it goes.

      Ugh - ours were pretty tight but they had room to be even tighter. Guessing its where the lines happen to be when they foam that determines whether or not these can be installed! Sorry it wouldn't work for you :(.

    • @Neenerella333
      @Neenerella333 2 года назад

      @@WinesPinesandCanines Yeah. It was even tricky with the wrench and socket. Good thing they left enough length in the hoses to push one aside, while doing the other. Maybe I could add some length to them with a coupling, and get your little valve caps in the future
