- Frédéric Chopin's four ballades are single-movement pieces for solo piano, composed between 1831 and 1842. They are considered to be some of the most challenging pieces in the standard piano repertoire.
The term ballade was used by Chopin in the sense of a balletic interlude or dance-piece, equivalent to the old Italian ballata, but the term may also have connotations of the medieval heroic ballad, a narrative minstrel-song, often of a fantastical character. There are dramatic and dance-like elements in Chopin's use of the genre, and he may be said to be a pioneer of the ballade as an abstract musical form.

Hazel Nguyen began her music education at the age of three. Developing a controlled, prodigious technique, she has been praised for her authority over the most complex technically demanding pieces, the depth of her musical insight and charismatic stage presence.
With a full scholarship to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, she graduated with a First-Class Bachelor Degree in Joint-Principal Conducting and Piano Performance. At the Royal College of Music, she achieved Master of Music with Distinction in Piano Performance.
Currently, Hazel is teaching at Rossall School in Lancashire and Sedbergh School in Cumbria, as well as judging competitions and performing worldwide. She is also one of the youngest examiners for ABRSM in the UK.
In addition, Hazel is a recording artist for Tomplay in Switzerland, a transcriber, an arranger and business partner for Musescore UK.

In the past, Hazel was awarded Worthing Pianist of The Year. At Brighton Springboard Music Festival, she won the Senior Championship, as well as the Senior Concerto Class. As a result, she will be performing with Brighton Orchestra in the next seasons.
Her virtuosic recording of Beethoven’s Bagatelle op.33 no.5 was played on BBC Radio 3 and made signature for their program In Tune. In Glasgow, producing the best performance of a Mozart Concerto, she was awarded Jock Holden Memorial Trophy. Hazel won the Rosanne Archibald prize for the most promising musician at Blackburn Music Festival and was also a winner at Glasgow Rising Star competition.

Nghệ sĩ piano Hazel Nguyen, tên đầy đủ là Nguyễn Ngọc Trà My, bắt đầu học nhạc từ năm ba tuổi. Kỹ thuật trên phím đàn của cô được cho là xuất sắc. Peter Hontaru - Piano Progress hi Peter, i listened to a few recordings to inspire me. I would say I like the versions played by Zimmerman and the young Yuja Wang when she was still at Curtis
Hazel Nguyen Pianist oh thanks! I knew of the Zimmerman which is also my favourite, probably tied with Rubinstein (whose masterclass got me into this piece). I wasn’t familiar with the old Yuja Wang version - thank you!

Oliver Charles i focus on the main melody in the right hand and treat the left hand as accompaniment, rather than being strictly in time
