I remember these trailers all the way back from 2007 and they are indeed charming but god I’m glad the actual product itself wasn’t like this. Part of the reason why old games like MapleStory is still relevant to this day is because it’s 2D. 2D just doesn’t age. I’m so glad they didn’t follow along the hype in the early 2000s and decide to make this game 3D because it would’ve died oh so long ago. The sprites and the background painting in this game are all so beautiful, it would be a big shame let go all of those for some dated 3D assets

The main problem with it right now is the server instability. I still recommend checking it out though. Just make sure you create a character on the REBOOT world.(REBOOT is the not pay 2 win world as well as the most popular)

Great game RUINED by new and overpowered classes, the cancer started when they introduced the Cygnus knights, then they got a bit carried away and now they have mechanics... Which ruin the game!
Nah. I've been playing since khaini server released in 2006 and the game mechanics wise is infinitely better now than it was before big bang. Old maple wasn't fun to play, hell I played on private servers just so that I could experience content I would probably never see in the official server. Everyone has fond memories of it because content required you to be social to progress. It's kinda like how old nes games were stupidly hard; there wasn't that much content so the game compensated for this by padding it with higher difficulty to make it harder to get through. Old maple was the same with the mind numbing grind. Less content meant the average player needed to stay in areas longer. I know your comment is 6 years old by this point, but the game is still alive and kicking (though less social because there is such a plethora of content that you don't need to rely on others for progression if you don't want to), and frankly if they hadnt turned everything up on its head, I highly doubt the old maple would still be around today. Long lasting games dont get that way by staying stagnant and not making major changes over the years. The game has character, the unique characters are charming, there's many good moments in questlines, there's a lot to enjoy with maple as it is now and people that say it was "ruined" just refuse to see beyond their own nostalgia for the old days where making any progress in the game was basically a second job.

Will i completely agree. It was no fun when cygnus knights were introduced and you only had to reach lvl 120.
