Howdy, nice video. In November I ordered a Mario ebike with a BHSSHD mid drive with Gates belt and 5 speed IGH. The bike shipped in December, its stuck on a ship. I hope it arrives ok. Any suggestions, I already purchased the the Luna steel gear to replace the motor internal nylon gear. Have a nice day.
bummer its stuck on a ship, hope they get it to you soon. I also have the gear from luna but have yet to install it as i have never had any trouble. I have over 3000 miles on mine. The IGH hub and belt would be so smooth, i have thought about getting one. Well thanks for watching and dropping a comment .
Great Video! I was wondering if you were working on a comparison between the two. Glad to hear they got your bike working too. Excited to see the upgrade. Have a good one bro!
My first thought on seeing the 73 was those cranks are too short and the sproket is a bit smallish. But, back when I rode "20 bikes around; I took the crank off a ten speed and put it on my Diamondback. That time was a broken crank from jumping, and it was just to keep rolling. But I ended up liking the gearing so much I carried it over to later bikes also.
That was a good idea to swap that over . I'm not a fan of the short cranks myself, one example is when you riding around say around 20 mph and hit a hill, you can't pedal to help maintain speed do to the short cranks and small front chain ring, so you loose well over 5mph on a hill easy.. bit we are like different things
Thanks for the great insight! I'm soon moving to California for work and might have an everyday commute of 25 miles to and fro. I'm in my early 20s so style is a priority for me. But I'd also like to save some money if I can. I was really convinced on mid tier 2000ish super73. But that was before I found Mario bikes. Would buying a Mario be a better decision? I wouldn't mind paying a premium for a better product but from the video it seems like the Mario bikes are a better product. What do you think?
I prefer the mario one the super 73 because you can get a mid drive, the super 73 are a hub drive ebike and have a higher fail rate, also if you are going to have hills in your commute is strongly suggest mario over super 73. The mid drive is great on hills, the hub not so much. If you look in my videos I have on of my 1000w mid drive against a 1100w hub motor . The super 73 is a great bike but mario kills it in performance.
Fantastic content! I hope you keep the vids coming! I have a question I'm about to order the bike with rear hub motor but stuck between the Bafang & the MAC at 1000w. What is the difference? Bafang seem to be the most commonly used so I'm thinking of going with that, plus Ive heard some people having problems with the MAC controller? I can't go for the mid drive because I need the bike to look as bike like as possible. Thanks in advance if you are able to help!
my thoughts exactly. I'm thinking to get one with 1000w bafang as it has better water resistance as well and in my country it rains often. Did you get yours after all- how is it?
Awesome thanks for the sub I appreciate that . I will not be swapping my chain rings, I have a video coming out of me going to a mid drive motor on my Mario.. Do you own a Mario ??
Not a Mario exactly, but same built as the Ariel Rider dual D classic (difference its rear hub motor only). Just thinking, if there is a significant impact of changing to an oval chainring and oversized pulley on this kind of ebike. Thank you so much for responding.
@@ra1n13rph2 changing your front chainring can help improve top speed in most cases, but your first limit on speed is the display, check to see if it's set to the highest speed setting, if so and you can not gain more speed your controller could be restricting you from reaching more speed. Hi thanks for all the info about the bikes! what do you think about using larger wheels say 24"? I'm concerned that without rear shocks the ride could be bumpy
Never tried 24, but I think there may be clearance issues with going that tall what I suggest to do is maybe run about 15 to 20 lb don't go 25 to 30 if you keep the tire pressure on 15 to 20 lb it seems to help with the bumps quite a bit and also for the super 73 I will be releasing shocks for that bike soon and doing an install video within the next couple weeks
